With the DAZ store, DAZ takes on the role of customer support. At Renderosity the seller is responsible for CS for all their own products. So if they only make a few sales per month on a particular item then they immediately lose all value gained in the meagre sales by having to deal with a single CS request. The older a product the smaller the sales, so it seems reasonable to me to retire them.

pot-of-gold.png

You can get 50$ worth of Daz Originals with the coupon POT-OF-GOLD if you buy one new release. Excludes new and Daz+ items, but includes everything else otherwise, including all bundles. I got three smaller bundles for around ~2$ each (plus ~7$ buy in for a new release, no tokens).

EDIT: Now that I have a token I am thinking it makes more sense to use a smaller amount of tokens on an order rather then all your tokens. The way they structured them the first one is worth more then the second (7% vs 5%) etc. so making many smaller orders and always using one token instead making one big order and using all tokens is another optimization knob you'd need to be aware of when puzzling together your Daz cart.

At renderosity:
  • 60% off ~180 items (only Today)
  • Bundle bonanza: If you buy 4 (or 3 if prime) products from the same artist, the cheapest is free (till Tuesday) Not all artists are in this sale, but it is possible to combine with the above 60% sale (but just for a few items of very few artists). See the list of artists/products here
  • and some other sales

I didn't post this one, but I feel like I kind of have to:
unreal-env-mega-bundle.png

This one is _almost_ over, only 2 days left. Though I think humble bundle days are a little longer then usual days. The bundle is ok I think, not very large, but I think most of the bundle contents are new and in a humble bundle for the first time so thats good.

And another one that just started:
gamemasters-toolkit.png

Which is a mish-mash of Leartes assets, most of which have been in sales before. So this isn't particularly great, but still, the humble bundles are so cheap even if you own half the assets the discount would still be substantial when buying this bundle. I usually don't care about the tutorials.

However, I only posted this really because there is something new about that Leartes bundle: you redeem not on Gumroad or Unreal/Unity, but on a new service called Cosmos. Made by Leartes Studio themselves:

So that's kind of interesting that they want to go their own way there it seems. This also features a subscription model (of course) where you get access to all their assets (* minus the environments, which imho makes this completely uninteresting).

Also interesting they do this now, while Epic is in the process of switching to Fab.io (I assume). Maybe they didn't really like the new terms or something. Leartes has a huge selection on the old Unreal Marketplace and I assume are kind of popular.

EDIT: also there are even more Leartes bundles going on currently on gumroad, though I think I would recommend not buying those. With that new service I assume their Gumroad thing is going away, and then you have a bunch of stuff on a platform they don't really care about anymore.

TL;DR:

Today the buy-in to unlock March Madness you can get for $4.59 w/ 8 tokens, and you might actually want it even if you're not doing G9.

Long form:

So this March Madness, Daz has been doing something pretty weird. They have a "key" item to enable savings, but it's just "any of the new products from today", aka "Newly Mad". (Of course they've had unlocked-on-new-items deals before, but I think it's new for them to use the "key item" terminology for them.)

Anyway, I hate the deals that require a new product because they're usually only 30% off, but today (and I think earlier days this was true too) the newly mad items are 55%, AND any 1 newly mad item gives you an extra 10% discount on all newly mad items, INCLUDING ITSELF, so they're all effectively 64% off.

In addition, I'm not doing G9, so pickings are usually slim in the New items, but today there's two environments and an HDRI.

EDIT:

Also just noticed a lot of is 70-75% off, with 8 tokens that brings products down to $3-$6 (plus I'm using store credit that was 30% discounted, so that's really $2-$4.50 of cash)

[EDIT] Got It! Daz Forums suck, the search function does not ... anyways, if you are curious and haven't found it [/EDIT]

Don't forget to add this very important freebie to your Daz3D.com cart today!

The freebie itself is 'meh' but the promo pics are awesome!

At renderosity:
  • 60% off 200 items (only today, coupon friendly)
  • a new bogo sale. You buy anything over $3.5 and you get a free asset from a list. Till Wednesday [This kind of sale can be interesting, but the set of bogo items contains a lot of crap. I estimated that I was more or less interested by at most 10% of the free items, and maybe I considered another 10% as potentially not completely useless. The potential gain is thus rather low. But YMMV. And if you like gamblling...]
