If you update an existing game, the new path is not used by the soft, you still play with the former release...
Please correct it with the edit bug.

Have no such issue when using the install feature. Are you editing the game metadata and changing the path/version that way? If so then that might be broken as the edit menu is totally broken for many.

Seems someone is being active on the new forum:

Thought it was the dev for a moment, wew.

Really hope we get some updates soon from the dev, little lack of feedback. esp when large features are broken is not good for the user-base.

My games are sorted by {engine}\{game}\{author}\{version}
I use the option (right clic, first icon at bottom, and use Single file method (not the move one) : the new path is not used. The game is launched from former version folder.

Well like i said, it fails to install which is why it still starts the old version since the new one was never installed cause the game title has a questionmark in it.
And you can't fix it either cause editing the metadata will crash the client.

is there any way to get this to make subfolders? id like it to make a folder for each engine and then inside that folder make a folder for each game using that engine. Right now mine is just making 1 folder that has the engine and name of the game in the name and just puts game files inside.
And how do I get this to detect games I already had downloaded and add them to list?

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
You need to set the creation as:
[{engine}\{author}\{game}\{version}] or [{engine}\{game}] as you described (remove the []).

When you click install game in the context menu of the game title it will automatically try to make those folders and move the game files correctly. There is also a refresh button in the context meny that will do the same after the fact with already installed titles.

Game detection WAS a thing but has been removed for now for unknown reasons, it happened when he did the new UI for the settings.
So right now the best bet is to load up all titles and filter the title to what you are installing then installing that title.

Hopefully the game detection/auto install will see a return once bug fixed. It was buggy for sure last time it was useable.
Better to have full control with these things instead of a buggy option for sure.

Hopefully the dev will get online again sometime, these large blocks of silence doesn't do this project any good.

EDIT: Note that there is no bulk refresh option yet. So there is no way to do this in bulk easily across all titles.
This also makes it a huge pain in the ass for moving the collection to another path or drive.

Relative paths from the base game path would make more sense tbh as most users would only have one single game path.

when you select your copy of the game and it copies it to the new folders and what not does it carry over your saves to ? when make sure so I can just have it copy a game then delete and start the next
and does the game update feature fully work normally?

There is not update feature. There is only an install feature and a move to set path.
When installing or refreshing the path it will take the exe or whatever picked when you installed and everything else in that folder and move it, not copy it.

If you have things split up across versions then you will have to copy over the saves on say renpy titles in many cases sadly.
Though most games do also use your Windows user folder for your games, though not always.

In short, the install feature will move over any and all files and folders next to the exe.

Hello,
You can know if there are updated games by select the right filter combination : owned + update. it will show you games marked as owned and who's server side version number is different from local version number.

If you don't want to have to copy your saves each time you can remove version number from directory structure, this way each version will be installed in the same place. If you want to keep your old versions activate the option to save old versions, it will create a zip file of your old version in the same directory.
I am planning to add a system that restores your saves even if version tag is in your directory structure.

Great to hear and great to see you online again!
Yeah a save system is needed cause of too many variations of games and their updates. There is no telling if a save is supported or if the whole file structure changed between updates.
Having the option to copy over saves atleast removes the issues that might come up with a single folder without the seperation of versions.

EDIT: note about game updates, refreshing the client or restarting the client to force a refresh is needed if an update was released after your last sync with the Gamelist server. The client does not update automatically when its running.

No release yet.
I guess since he is back. I guess he will look at it soon.
The Edit fix should be high on the list for sure.

I have answered all bugs threads in the wiki.
any chance of an update game feature? would be nice to be able to update the games through the app and even download games through it. on that note when under the browse f95 menu of the app if I double click any game the app will crash.

Do you have an error message when the app crashes?

What do you call an update feature? Rigth now you can download and re-install it, if you didn't put the version number in the directory structure it will install it at the same place than the old version so it will be updated. If you have the version number in the directory structure you have to manualy copy saves to the new folder, I will add a feature to do it automaticaly in a future version.

PS : there ithere is a bug in the current version that causes the app to launch the old version but it will be fixed with the update that I'm planning to deploy today.

I think Poorloading means an update feature where Game List advises that one of your games has been updated to a new version, launches Mega (or other way of downloading the zip file) then unpacks it into the correct directory. Which would be great but sounds awfully complicated and a lot more work than it's worth - it's not that hard to manually update the games :)

Yes it will be complicated, and it will be a kind of stealing F95 traffic : I don't want people that use my app to stop coming here.
With the actual system they have to come here, at least to see links.
