I'm wondering why the MC even needs the coma/amnesia back story...if the whole game centers around him meeting new people and has no incest and no history with anyone, based on the short synopsis and tags. Its basically an unnecessary backstory and seems like it was used just because so many well received games use it.

No idea. I stopped playing during the dinner, when the mom and her daughter were yelling at each other. Mom was accusing the daughter of being a slut, so, I leave this alone until we know the future tags.
