Overview:
The whole thing began a few years ago when Brian's mother had died. She was sick, but he had no idea, she and his father kept it a secret. After she died his father started to drink heavily. One night the cops came to Brian and told him that his father won't come back soon so he'd better stay with a relative.
When I found this he did his best in finding out what happened to his father but no luck. A few days after the cops came to his door, Phill, the principal of the high school where Brian was a student came to him and told him that he could live with him for a while. While living with Phill, Brian did plenty of bad stuff, but in the end, things got better.
The main purpose of the player will be to find out why is his father in prison while his second goal will be to find out what everybody hides. Everybody has secrets and your job is to find them. Some characters have big secrets while others not so big.

This Dev might have to be careful. You are supposed to buy interactive licenses for any Day asset you use in a 3d game like this. Visual novels are okay, but this isn't without a license. But maybe he dropped hundreds on all the licenses to put out the game

How about we just go ahead and assume he did purchase those licenses. Like we assume all the random VN devs putting out demos with 20+ characters purchased all their assets legally.

It's a copyright issue, it's different. It has nothing to do with whether the dev purchased the assets, it is all about the licensing.

The record company doesn't care if I play illegally downloaded songs at a party. But you bet your ass they would care if I made money selling CD's with copyrighted songs

Then you haven't read their terms. Both violations are equally litigable.

If you use illegally downloaded daz assets to make money with non-interactive renders, then yes, that is indeed illegal and they have every right to sue you. Whether they will at this point is up for debate.
The interactive license myth comes from an incident with a couple or so 3d devs a while back.

I believe the org behind daz is loving the recent publicity they're getting with adult games and will wait a while before they consider litigation. But there's absolutely no reason why they wouldn't go after top earners on patreon who use renders like they would violators of their interactive license terms. They've already shown their legal power going after and taking down sites that hosted assets for download.

If you make money, that's what the license are for, if you give a for free you dont need them
These devs do earn money from their creations. With patreon, its technically a grey area for now. But not for long. Not just with daz, but unreal and other engine use too.

Group up the top 10 or so patreon devs, and they're doing a million or so a year in total. That's not worth going after yet, unless they want to make a statement. Legal teams are expensive.
