Any resemblance to real or fictional individuals, past or present, is purely coincidental.
Divareth is a world hinged on the balance of Grace (Virtues) and Stigma (Sins).
In every age, human nature have always leaned it toward the chaos of sins.
As fate would have it, Maidens of Grace are born every generation to restore equilibrium.
However, keeping a world's sin at bay is too much for one person to bear.
Thus, an Arbiter is anointed to help each of them uphold their responsibility.
Having this unique position, Arbiters can determine the fate of the world.
Whether they choose to assist the maidens, or let them fall into sin, is up to them.
You start the journey in your hometown of Dawnstead, with your childhood friend Hotaru.
As the newly anointed Arbiter, you take her to set out to find the Maidens.
Discover what each maiden is going through, and what sins run rampant in their lands.
Together, resolve the calamities in the regions which they failed to contain.
Will you help them uphold their virtues, or let them succumb to their respective sin?
World
Across the map are big cities, small villages, points of interests you can travel to.
Each location is themed based on where they are on the map. River villages, Sea Ports, etc.
Each location contains its unique set of inns, shops, houses, NPCs, features, etc.
Travel across the world with your companions by your side.
Travel
Traveling from one city to another takes multiple in-game days depending on the distance.
Each day of a journey, there will be encounters (dialog events, camp, battle, buffs, loot, etc).
HP will not recover automatically during a travel, unless camp event or potions.
Street View
When you arrive at the target location, you will enter the street view.
In cities and villages, you can choose a location on the left side to explore.
You can enter shops, talk to NPCs, get quests from them, and other activities.
Your companions will always be by your side, and react to your actions.
Main Quest
If you've played Bethesda Game Studios games, you know their stories are tied to quests.
This is the same approach. There is a main quest you can go through, but is optional.
There will be tons of side quests, and it's your choice what to do, and where to go.
Quest types will have different icons so they can easily be categorized and identified.
Side Quests
Side quests will be abundant. Visit cities, explore the streets, talk to NPCs, get their quests.
Some side quests will only be available after you progress the MAIN story to a certain point.
(as they involve characters that appear later in the main quest)
Guild Quests
There are also quests from the Adventurer's Guild. You earn more gold through these.
These are generic ones that are deliver, craft, clear out, talk, gather, etc.
Maiden Quests
Each maiden will have their own romance questline.
Level
There are no linear character levels.
I believe linear levels just introduce grinding.
Thus I'm introducing fluctuating levels in the form of "Stigma".
As you can see below, these levels go up and down depending on your actions.
Stigma
Stigma represent the Seven Sins (Lust / Gluttony / Greed / Sloth / Wrath / Envy / Pride)
Female characters are born with one stigma. (except for FMC hotaru, who has all of them)
Stigma powers are for combat (raw damage, weakness break, DoT, followup attacks, etc)
This appear as a mark of the seven sins in female bodies (lust = midriff, gluttony = lips, sloth = back, etc)
When female characters use their Stigma powers in combat, the Stigma level goes up.
Grace
Grace represent the Seven Virtues (Chastity / Temperance / Charity / Diligence / Patience / Kindness / Humility)
Male characters are born with one grace. (except for Protagonist sorata, who has all of them)
Grace powers are mainly support (heal / shield / buff / debuff, etc)
These do not appear on male bodies, unlike Stigmas.
When male characters use their Grace powers on female allies, the females lose Stigma levels.
Utility
Stigma and Grace levels can also be used outside of combat, and in RPG events and scenarios.
Grace Charity = Barter +X%
Stigma Lust = Flirt Persuasion +X% (yes you can use companions to do persuasion checks if they have high lust)
Grace Diligence = Crafting +X%
these will be finalized later on during development and how we progress the RPG mechanics.
Turn-based Combat
Have you played Honkai: Star Rail? We'll this is it.
On a character's turn, you can choose just either Basic Attack or Skill.
Skill Points
Skill Point is a global stat for the whole team. You start with 3, and can have a maximum of 5.
Any character who does basic attack gives 1 skill point for the team. Meanwhile, using a skill consumes 1.
Ultimate Move
Doing a basic attack or skill gives the character energy. Using skills will gain more energy.
Once the character energy fills up, you can use their ultimate move anytime, out of turn.
Hotaru will have a different ultimate based on the current Stigma she's equipped with.
Potions
Potions are global. You can use them outside of the turn system, and will activate immediately.
Once used, it will go into cooldown, until you can use it again.
This is one of the main focuses of the game. This is my main driving force that pushes me forward.
With that in mind, you can treat 'exhibitionism' or 'candaulism' as the main genre of this game.
Make Hotaru wear outfits you obtain. She will wear it while navigating the world, city streets, shops, etc.
I'll add more revealing outfits, and it's up to you if you want to showcase her skin to the world.
Outfits will be worn during combat, city navigation, and regular dialog.
However, characters will wear their default outfit in some special cutscenes with custom illustrations.
I'm still considering if the subheroines can wear outfits too but its too much work.
It will depend on how popular each one of them will be when the game comes out.
Dialog
I merged feel of ADV backgrounds and sprites plus the readability of Phone games.
You have to admit, you read more text with phone games than walls of VN text, no?
The fact the texts come in smaller bits makes it easier to read.
Just like it's easier to read bullet points than a whole wall of paragraphs.
Roleplaying
Having the female characters engage in combat, while protagonist support, poses problems with roleplaying.
You cannot roleplay as a mage, or a stealth archer, since you're locked into support.
We can only attain roleplaying through your actions in the world.
To be a craftsman, you can craft items from smithing, enchanting, alchermy, etc.
There will even be a dedicated update specifically for crafting, 4.0 Atelier Update
This will introduce more ways to craft, and even have your own shop where you can sell your products.
The heroines will help you around the shop, whether you make it a Smithy, a Restaurant, an Alchemy shop etc.
You can roleplay to be a good guy or bad guy through your choices in dialog.
There will be persuasion checks, even option to make heroines flirt with the target to persuade.
For thieves, I want to add sneaking, going into houses and loot everything you see.
Maybe in the streets where you pickpocket people.
Maybe become a merchant who buys and sells goods across countries where prices rise and fall.
Buy native products and sell them to places that need them the most.
Maybe trade with other merchants you meet during your travels.
Any ideas? My ears are open.
Equipment
There will be equipment slots for weapons, armor, and accessories.
This will not affect outfits, and only provides stats. Outfits still determine the appearance.
Even though combat is based on Honkai: Star Rail, this will not be like relics.
I want it to be traditional RPGs where there are weapon tiers you upgrade to.
There will be smithing and tempering to improve the equipment +1 to +9 etc etc.
I want this to still feel like a JRPG.
Sexiness first, Plot second, Physical sex third.
I can't promise to empty your balls, but what I can promise is to make it blue.
But then again, I sit here hoping you'll pop it with just the pure sensuality of the scenarios put forth.
Imagine Dungeon Travelers 2 and other Sexy JRPGs, but with sexual content.
Exhibitionism, Candaulism, Intimacy
Again, exhibitionism is the focus of the game.
The sexiness of the characters as they wear different revealing outfits.
As the heroines seduce and tease the protagonist, but never crossing the line.
The female body, their skin, the intimate parts you only glimpsed at, maybe even others can seen more of.
They will eventually cross lines, but what have other guys seen and done at that point?
I want to do this slow, with the characters exploring intimacy little by little.
I want to do is portray the scenes the hottest I can every step, not go immediately hard.
Combat Sex? Sex on Defeat?
I love both Combat Sex and Sex on Defeat, like NoFuture games, and more recently Dorgel's Melphias.
However, I don't see it matching with this game's style at all.
Not because of technical things like turn-based, but I just don't feel it.
If there's any chance of doing Sex during combat, I'd imagine something connected to main story.
Something like a DPS check, every 3 turns the other girl (who's not involved in combat), will progress sex state.
So your goal is to finish the boss as soon as you can to prevent any mishaps with the other heroine.
Something related to the story, NOT just because "oh I let myself lose so the heroine will get fucked".
