He still using SFM right? Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't he should've switch to another program after PW?
He's been wanting to dive deeper into Blender for some time. The last imagesets he released were all made in Blender. On his Discord he wrote something like "I work with it, but I can't animate models that well in Blender yet so videos will still be in SFM for a while".

From what I've gathered from here and many Discords the jump from SFM to Blender is a wide gap, most take years to make the jump and Blender is a program and skill that takes IRL time to learn.

True and not true :)

I've fumbled with both programs for a bit. I found SFM slightly more intuitive to get into, at least UI wise (if you have like 100 hours spare, to begin with...) and that's why I used it much more often than Blender. I wouldn't say one is necessarily easier than the other. Both have their own logics how certain stuff is handled and connected. My main reason to not use SFM all the time is Source being an old ass engine at this point. To make SFM clips or shots look somewhat decent, I have to apply multiple layers of smart lighting, particles, air/wind/fog and similar effects to the scenes and do some additional video/image editing with other software. All this adds a lot of work time after animating in SFM while Blender's raw renders simply do not need that much afterwork.

SFM is much easier to use, it is very good for those who are just learning animation.

Yes most stuff is less intuitive in Blender but then again Blender has a lot more great up to date guides and tutorials. Most SFM guides you'd find are severely dated just like SFM is.

Also, a small hint: you'll want to disable ambient occlusion so it doesn't add grain to your models. You can check it on again later before you render as grain only occures in your primary viewport while AO is on.

Yes, although I certainly don't render because my PC is not made for even SFM, I just encourage and try to improve, I don't even put more than 3 lights because it would literally run at 10 fps, but yes, I hate that most SFM tutorials are in English, therefore I won't understand what they talk about, but I guess you have to adapt.
