2D vs 3D as a man who can do neither

Hey again all, A little while back I asked about the merits of RPGM vs Renpy and decided (probably to the chagrin of most people and especially myself) RPGM. While I'm bashing my head against trying to learn it, I'm curious as to what people think. The game is based heavily around bimbofication which of course means extreme body types and changes which would probably be easier in 3D but my PC explodes at the presence of DAZ, it's no spring chicken. My drawing skills are sadly lacking and for reasons, they're not really going to improve anytime soon. What do people here think?

you could:
- start with only pixel art (sprite edits - you don't need any skills to get passable results) and rely on game mechanics / writing to carry the game before you can get the art. e.g. dryad quest rpg iirc started without any art other than the tabletop maps.
- find another software for 3d or try an older version of it that shouldn't have as high hardware reqs
- reduce the amount of stuff to render by going japanese (character sprites separate from the backgrounds/the rest) instead of cooking hundreds of full scene renders you can't reuse
- try 2d vector art (think flash animations)

Thanks for the options
You know of any older 3d software that could work? I've seen Honey Select and Koikatsu but IDK how accessible they are.
I don't have the confidence in my writing/the game for it to carry anything by itself and I'd say that art is even more important in a transformation focused game.

If you don't plan to sell your game on steam or epic store you can use Honey select or Koikatsu. This is the simplest solution.

I know everbody, and most likely rightfully so, tells you "go for what you like" so you have a chance to stay with it past the 2nd week / month/ year ...

just so the obvious gets mentioned beforehand at least once: body modification means multiple (MANY) times the amount of art-work needed than no body modification.
no matter if DAZ/ Koikatsu/ 2d-drawn - this might kill you. so that is a really hard choice for one's 1st game, imo.

good luck anyways.

ps - if you're looking for Koikatsu, the "better repack" version is "hidden" by f95zone renaming it to Koikatu.

no idea if it is better or worse than the sunshine edition.

You are not wrong, but it's what I wanna do so I wanna do it! LET'S GO, NO SURRENDER!
