4K Ren'Py Games

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen of the refined tastes in terms of porn and hentai,

i wanted to ask a question here about how feasible 4k will (would?) be in Ren'Py Games of any sorts.
What can the devs say about 4k Backgrounds and Characters? How long does it take to make 1080p backgrounds and characters compared what would be if it's 4k Resolution instead? Is this somewhat an idea for future Ren'Py games? Or did you already thought about 8k too? I am curious because more and more 4k content is available and also games for that matter.

So please tell me what you think about it.

As technology moves forward I thinks it's inevitable that 4K porn games will be made more commonly. right now I think theres really not a lot of insetive to do so. Only a small minority of people have 4K monitors to actually enjoy it as intended.
If a 4K game comes right now, asaide for a very good image quality, I wouldn't get much out of it.

I actually make a 4k VN (the second one in my sig), 4K is the future no doubt, but it's also just a stepping stone for even higher resolutions.
If you look around you'll see that most people in the world don't even have a 4k device, but there are already the first 8k TVs out there on the market.

For VN's there's always one thing to consider: File size.
4 times resolution also means 4 times the file size and a lot of people don't want to download several gb just for a VN and just for a little crisper image.
Personally I love having a crisper image though and all my non-game renders are at least 4k.

"Game Compressor" wouldn't be a thing if there weren't a large number of people who want/need games smaller in size. Between the monthly traffic limits that some have, the bandwidth of other, and the available space on their hard drive, there's tons of reason why 4K VNs are way too big for the majority ; especially when they can't even benefit from them since they don't have a 4K screen.

Rn we need to focus on more 3d related games with proper fluid animations, jiggle physics was a step in the right direction hopefully we will see the same for fluidity
renpy games can be done in 4k easily but rn the renders needs to look more realistic and detailed which only a few trending games have achieved

I agree. If you don't have the technology, you won't benefit much from it.

Yeah, i can't imagine how big the games will become but i can estimate. It won't be small xD
