The market for simple puzzle-type games attached to (AI) R-18 imagery seems to be pretty ludicrous, given how many I've seen with basically the same formula. The time to develop has to be comically low too, so it must be almost all profit :WeSmart:

Waves walking cane
Back in my days the slop makers at least had the decency to rip arts and gifs from reputable artists and hentai for their puzzle games.
This generation truly have no dignity.

Most likely:

1. Low investment needed (both time and asset wise).
2. Likely reusing resources (puzzle mechanics, code, AI model setup, etc) across multiple games.
3. Self publishing on Steam is pretty cheap as far as I'm aware. I was told they ask 100$ upfront, which gets returned after you make at least 1k on purchases. And of course, Steam's 30% cut on purchases.
4. Some of them (though not this one) have Patreon as passive income.

If you are smart about it, you can probably start profiting by releasing multiple games once you have the AI generation polished to a reasonable extent.

I was more curious about: why spend money for this?! Are there really people buying these? Games like "Chasing Sunsets" or "Eternum" I would totally pay for. But this recycled stuff...
Can't even believe it makes profit when you put it on steam

It does feel unbelievable from our perspective, but that's unfortunately not the norm. You eventually realize you severely underestimate the amount of people that go "ooo shiny!" and press the buy button, especially with sub $10 purchases. It wouldn't be enough to sustain the development work of multiple people, but with a single dev using AI generated content it's not that hard to eventually turn profit.

Also, as I said, they reuse a looot of stuff, so once they get the formula down, making others is increasingly easier.

Hm, kinda sad, because it will flood us with that recycled AI sh... .
No problem with AI images, after all they are kinda nice. But it is all the same and the games are bare of content, story and gameplay. Paste and copy ftw, would try the same if it would not make me puke
