I apologize in advance for the small amount of info that I can remember.
It's a 3D CG game. Most likely Renpy. It probably had animations since I tend to prefer games that do.
I remember it being fantasy themed. The MC comes from a village near, or over, water. I think there was an assassination of MC's friend or father figure, unless I'm confusing it with another game that I can't remember. The MC might've been blamed for it.
I'm fairly certain I played it sometime this year, so the last update was in this year.
