it had time based attacks and blocks (wait for the enemy to attack and time blocking and offense), it was 2D, and you fought your way up a tower.
I remember the last first boss was a octopuss, who only could be damaged when its eye was opened.
The game WAS in early access, with only 2 or 3 available characters to play.
Everytime a fight was lost the character would be fukked.
