Ren'Py - A Ghostly Desire [v0.7 Alpha] [Sitho]

I felt conflicted about even giving this review, I thought that if you had nothing nice to say then you shouldn't say anything at all. With that said, I'll try to keep this objective.

• The translation is awful. Almost every sentence contains broken grammatically confused sentences, making it difficult to connect with any of these characters.
• The cast is massive, chuck full of people you have zero reason to be invested in. And even if you do get invested in one of these characters, don't worry, there'll be 10 new characters around the corner to talk your ear off.
• The pacing is bad. With the previous two points in mind, I'd say it's downright horrendous. There's a scene where the Aunt character fully throws herself at you and then does the classic "teehee jk!" bit.​

If I had to say some positive thing about this title is that it's ambitious. The world is large and well-rendered. Shame I had zero desire to experience it after the first 2 days.

One of the very rare vanilla games I'm gonna keep on my drive for some time.

Quite excellent milf focused content. I gotta say it has some if not the best looking milf I ever seen in AVNs. Now I'm actively looking for games with similar visuals.

There isn't really any story besides the classic you get back to your home town blah blah. I was under the impression that there is no clear focus in mind but it didn't really bother me.

Content wise, there's a decent amount so far. No sex with the mom yet but the build up to it is really well done.

I just came across this title and gave it a try.

Wow, very well done and I was impressed by it (the VN). Cool, very cool.

Personally, I just wish there were some basic “game mechanics” like building up some points or something like that, just something to work on. Sometimes I get bored with too many text chains and find myself skipping them so far that I miss too much.

How ever, just keep us on our toes with updates, scandals, twists and surprises. Just do your thing (if the dev is reading) and make an old schooler like me feel like the nudes/photos are worth archiving as a reward, you know, to satisfy the needs of an animal hunter-gatherer. But that's just my personal taste.

All in all, really worth supporting and highly recommended!

I mean, for a release that is over 3 years old, and with all the help that is readily available on F95zone, there is no excuse for the poor writing.

The characters look really bad. While I was hoping for some unique milf's, the images are just low quality.

The mechanics are bad... You exit to the bathroom, exit to your bedroom, exit to second floor, etc... Sometimes there is a button to leave a room but other times you have to hover around the edge of the screen clicking until you hit the right hidden spot to leave.

There isn't really a story. You find your mom who hugs you, says she missed you, then sits back down to watch tv and ignores you. The mc then runs around complaining about his stuff being gone, and it honestly goes downhill from there.

This needs to be proofread, thrown out, then started on from scratch. I realize I sound rude, but it's just really really bad.

This game is trash, for a whole host of reasons.


Most important - dev is stuck so far up his ass, he made every decision possible to waste your time and make the gameplay a time-wasting chore. This was a necessity though, to obscure how barren the game is and how few renders it has. It lacks indicators for actions, or indicators for “already interacted with”, interactive zones are all over the place and often don’t make sense, and writing isn’t good enough or engaging enough for you to care and follow closely. Lots of actions you need to do aren’t even properly explained. Don’t waste your time. If you are a sucker for the few renders this game has - take a look at the gallery here on the game page. That’s pretty much it. There, I’ve saved you several hours of your life - now go play any of the far better games available here.



Good Things

• The few renders you can get are not bad
• If you really want “realistic” milf bodies (read “having fat ass, and some belly”) this one has them

Bad points

• The worst QoL you can get - dev even messed up with the default Ren'Py options in settings, to actively make it worse.
• Open world is trash, with a lot of houses and items to “interact” but 95% of the time this doesn’t do anything, but wastes your time. If you are not following the walktrhrough, you will waste hours on empty screens of random junk, trying to find the one that leads you to the next hurdle
• Writing is terrible
• Conversations are often just 2 cutouts in front of a background, not proper renders.
• lots of bugs

Excellent game if you like voyeur and realistic MILF action. Been a while since i last got involved but just down loaded the latest version - super hot! The renders are very well exceuted and games play moves at just the right pace to keep you engaged and stimulated in the right measure . Recommend

Honestly, this is what MILFS an Matures are realistically like using DAZ. 'm a sucker for these kind of models. Very well done.

This is may be one of the best games I ever played. Very nice graphics and I love the mature women in it. One thing though, there is a lot of effort spent on MC's fantasies which, in my opinion, could be directed to progress the story. Nice work though, bravo dev.

I haven't played this for very long, but I can tell already that the image to dialog ratio is just bad.
As far as I can see, there's a single image (well rendered though) over minutes of dialog. No change of camera angle, or any king of expression change. The only change is when it switches to dialog over just black...

I don't care how well the animations are done, when the meat of the game is done over just a couple of still images. It gets boring pretty quickly looking at the same image for minutes at a time.
Waste of resources, IMHO.
Combined with the non-native English, it's a pass for me.

Very promising point&click erotic adventure, the woman are hot and have a 'real' feel, the renders and animations are awesome and the story is quite good.

Things to improve: quest log, longer sex scenes.

Asside from the litle bugs, this game is and will be a pure gem.

pressing W when it bugged really helped the game progress

starting is a little wonky since this kind of gameplay feels strange,
and Marc does have a funny walk

but after a little while and seeing the first 3d animation, you know this is the real deal.

This game is pure Gem in my opinion. It's pretty unique have it's own charm and pleasant atmosphere, resembles the Willy D and EON which are one of the best adventure porn games ever in my opinion. The women are very hot, the stories so far are interesting and the animations are well made. Feels like a really cool adventure porn game and not some propaganda driven bs, which is inserted in almost every game here.Love that you can find secret hot scenes in the world too, hope in the future you may be included in some too. Also the more hot sex scenes you can find side from the story the better. The game definitely needs to have a replay of the finded in the world scenes in some way, and for the unlocked sex scenes true out the story in my opinion, also if sex sounds are included in them will make them even hotter. It's still early, but enough for me to give this score, keep it up, what I saw was great!

The game reminds of old point and click adventures, this one is pretty straightforward with no complexities that can ruin the erotic experience. Character design is amazing, not your typical render, this characters look closer to a person you can meet in your neighborhood, which is excellent. I love the space rendering, is simple yet communicates what is needed, I guess rendering times get lower with this strategy which is nice, also giving a unique touch to the game. Storywise I just played 0.4 so it needs to develop much more, but to date it is a favorite, unique style, animations are very fluid and look organic, not plastic as lots I've seen. I hope the developer keeps updating this regularly with lots of content.

It never cease to amaze me how much effort some of these porno devs will put into taking all the fun out of playing their own games! No sane, functional human adult is going to waste time with long tracts of abysmally designed gameplay and mind-numbing 'story' just to see a few decent renders and animations. Gameplay and story that from what I can see could easily have been made better and simpler with very few changes and probably less effort.

The bane of indie development is the lack of effective external criticism/correction and hence devs implementing very bad ideas they came up with and think are really cool/clever. This game exemplifies that predicament more than most on this website that I've played. I mean the dev himself admitted to putting a random timer as the trigger for quest events. WTF?!

I spent 15 minutes putting a travel bag, an empty box, a dustpan, and a picture frame in their God-ordained locations around a house. The PC actually told the empty box 'you should be fine here' after putting it down. That's right, the hero of this story talked to an empty box. Are you fucking kidding me. The English writing/dialogue in general doesn't get much better than that.

Not going to waste more time detailing why the quests, UI, dialogue nav, resolution etc. are stupidly, unnecessarily complicated and/or bad. Tldr - don't bother.

Absolutly fantastic game, great graphic, excellent story plot, perfect characters, one of the best game ever played! Very nice the new kind of playabilty, a new era for point-and-click games!
Can't wait to play the next version!

The game's animations and visuals are usually excellent and the game hasnsome good potential but its so slow, walking around the whole time to get 2 scenes that were dream/memories. It just seems like the dev doesnt value the player's time.

Some ideas to fix that would be to make the walking faster, tighten up the rooms and reduce all the random shit like shelves and dish racks that add nothing to the game, or to just make them uninteractable.
