Overview:
A Mirror's Curse is a transgender transformation game created in Twine using the Sugarcube format. In this story-driven adventure, you step into the shoes of Ethan Yoon, an ordinary high school senior enjoying a seemingly typical life. Everything changes when visiting the Autumn Festival with friends takes a strange turn. There, Ethan encounters Madame Serena, a mysterious seer who curses him after he secretly records their conversation. Her cryptic warning, that the mirror will shift every time he acts on something he cannot see, reveals its true meaning as Ethan begins to transform. He physically becomes more feminine with every traditionally feminine action he takes.

Do you like sissification. Did you recently download a different sissification game and start playing it only to realize that you accidentally downloaded a BNWO or straight-to-sissy-in-5-seconds game? Do you want to play a nice game that can settle your heart and soothe your eyes and mind? Well, we've got a deal for you: come right up and experience the life of Ethan Yoon. There may be challenges, things may be slow, but if you want it you'll have all the support and time you need on your journey!

Hi there! First off, amazing game! I’m absolutely loving it so far. It’s clear you’ve put a lot of thought and passion into it, and it really shows. I do have a small suggestion, though: could you possibly add a feature to always display the character’s appearance alongside the story? Personally, I find it helps me connect more deeply with the character and immerse myself further in the experience.

Please keep up the great work—you’re onto something truly special here, and I genuinely believe this game has incredible potential. I’m excited to see how it evolves!

Really enjoying the game so far but the dev really needs to stop with notes like these. During the 1st masturbation scene the author has added this note in as if they have committed a sin and need to be pardoned in a confessional by a priest.

Author's Note:
The thinking of yourself as a hot girl choice and other options like that are probably the only times this game will even get close to fetishizing trans women, femboys, and other gender non-conforming people. I will admit, it might lean a little too much into autogynephilia. I mostly included it since I know many people have fantasies like this and this was requested several times. Keep in mind that autogynephilia is mostly nonsense created to invalidate trans women! This part is just for fun.

They are making a porn game/erotic literature who cares about their personal opinion on autogynephilia and why are they virtue signalling in a game like this? It kills both immersion and arousal to read this crap. You never need to justify yourself for what you want to create as a dev when it comes to erotic content. If they fear that people think they are turning trans people into a fetish by making this game then they should have never made it in the first place. The last thing I want is to start thinking about trans politics IRL when I am enjoying a story they have written.

EDIT: Just finished a couple of routes the authors notes are mostly fine and the game is great just that one note above stood out as it really killed the vibe of the game at the time of reading it. Cut that crap out and the game looks promising really liking the future designs for the characters.

I'm really enjoying the story but I also have to agree with you. It seems like there's some people in these communities that will crucify you if you do slightest thing they don't agree with, and you end up with these weird self-justifications or the demonization of certain topics most people don't give two shits about. As you said, adding author notes on personal opinions of these topics just kinda kills the vibe. I'm glad you've only found this one so far at least.

I'm really sorry but I've shot down this idea several times because I don't like the way it looks and affects the UI. I did add a keyboard shortcut to get to the appearance screen in the public release after this, but I won't be adding the paperdoll to the side or something.

Reminds me of You Throw Like A Girl.

That isn't a bad thing, mind. It's just a striking similarity.
YTLAG was one of the first games I played on TFGS and it holds a special place in my heart. The transformation system is very much based off YTLAG, and a lot of the stuff like the high school setting and cheerleading route was inspired by that game.

Not tagged right. Its a VN with ai.
This is quite literally not a visual novel. It's not even made in ren'py or any other engine made for visual novels. It's an interactive text game that shares some similarities with VNs.

Does 'he' get to keep the hotdog, or does 'he' just turn into a wide empty hallway?
It will be completely up to the player. There will be four stages:average penis, small penis, tiny penis, vagina. The last step will require you to confirm it. I know NSFW scenes are few and far between, but future sex scenes and masturbation scenes will adjust depending on if you have a penis or have gone all the way.

That is literally the only note that contains my IRL thoughts on topics like this. But I'm going to discuss this in a little more detail below. Since you said you don't really want to hear my personal thoughts on this kind of stuff, I'll keep it under a spoiler. Just felt the need to explain why I made this choice.

But you also do have a very good point. People go into a game to have fun and escape reality a little. The last thing many people want to see, especially before a steamy scene, is my personal thoughts on representation, agp, and identity. Like you said, it does kill the mood and also messes with the flow of the scene and detracts from the experience.

While I won't remove the explanation from the game, I will probably move it to another place. Maybe behind a button so that the player needs to make the conscious decision to view it and engage with it.

Gender identity stuff is complicated. There are a lot of people who have very strong feelings about it, for a whole host of excellent reasons. A lot of trans folks first explore their gender identity in RPGs or other roleplay scenarios, for example, to the point where the "uncracked egg RPG player" is something of a meme due to how common a story it is.

Because of that, there are going to be a lot of people exploring their feelings on gender identity and roles in games, including the ones that get posted here. This may be primarily a porn game piracy board, but that doesn't make the games here completely devoid of meaning beyond titillation - and, for many people, the "with plot" part of "porn with plot" is why people enjoy these things.

So for games that take a serious (if fantastic) approach to issues, like this one, I think being a little considerate is a good approach.

Now, that said, I don't disagree that the mid-game warnings are a bit of an interruption that throws off the pacing. Personally, I'd stick the note as a disclaimer at the start: "This is a modern fantasy game about a magical gender swap that addresses very real social and psychological issues, and it includes both an eager and heartfelt investigation of that subject alongside a mixture of wish fulfillment and respectful fetishization of it. If either of those bother you or are not what you're looking for, perhaps consider a different title."

I'd suggest keeping the notes where they are, but add a toggle in the game settings for "Author Notes", similar how movies can come with optional commentary track from the director. This would allow people who are interested in these things to have them displayed, and those who aren't, to have them hidden leaving them none the wiser.

As an aside to the developer, thank you for adding options to express a middle ground between "NO MY MASCULINITY" and "TIME FOR GROUP BATHROOM TRIPS AND TRAINING BRAS." The "Welp, life throws you curveballs sometimes, guess I'm rolling with it" is an underserved and refreshing perspective in these stories.

Not the person you replied to, but I appreciate your honesty and understanding of the criticisms. I don't think it's about not wanting to see your opinion in general, but rather not want it to show up in the player's face in the middle of playing the game, as it can detract from the overall immersion and experience as you said.

With that said, having played a bit of the game, so far I'm really enjoying it. I think you've done a great job on story building and interactions between the MC and others. I apologize if my earlier comment sounded a bit harsh, and wish the best for you and your game!

Okay.... why in the world would he confide in the very same person who cursed him if you choose to outright reject the curse? He should want revenge against her or at least want NOTHING to do with her.

I could MAYBE understand if he was embracing it or at least unsure about things. But still, he should have some strong resentment towards her, but he just comes off as mostly "annoyed and inconvenienced".

I would suspect because "hard rejection" is a pretty niche path in these games, and often gets neglected by authors and developers since it's not typically why most people pick up the titles.
