VN - Ren'Py - A Perfect Couple [v0.7] [Naughty Narrative]

I'm tapping out at v0.7, and it's pretty overdue. The premise is nothing new, but it's one that can always bring something interesting if done well. But apart from the renders looking decent enough (and credit where it's due for them not being AI like most of these phone-based NTR/NTS games), I just don't think it's done very well at all.

The writing mostly sounds a bit like a fanfic or literotica piece, I think (which I'm saying with almost no experience of either, so take that with a grain of salt). You'll get a lewd scene, and the wife is apparently typing out every detail, so there will be dozens of messages in a row explaining what some other guy is doing and how she's feeling - but most of the time this is supposed to be as it is happening (shown by choices sometimes coming up in the middle of these "stories" about whether she should stop or take things further). It would make sense if she was telling the story after the fact, but not so much during.

Then, there are pictures that accompany them, and there's no way to get through this without a big suspension of disbelief. There are only two people involved, they are performing some sort of sex act, and yet somehow, there are closeup photos of angles that should be impossible to photograph, or wide shots where there is clearly no one holding out the phone to take the photo. Plus there are far too many for them to believably be taken while performing these "spur of the moment" acts. Some also have magical "x-ray" capabilities, so you can see through the guy's arm to show what's going on, etc.

And finally, part of the early story involves the discovery of some ancient artifact, and apparently this can unlock modern technology, allowing the MC to "hack" into security cameras or his wife's phone etc., using his own phone, in order to see more of what's going on. It's all just a bit too incoherent. Everything that's going on feels like it should just be a series of vignettes, but instead they're all put together and there's an attempt to make a story out of it, and I just don't think it works at all.

This one is really bad. I wasn't expecting much, since I'm not too fond of phone-simulation games, but for a quick one I thought it could work. And I guess that, to some degree, if that's the only thing you are looking for it might. The characters have no interest, and neither does the story, it moves so quick there is no buildup, no tension, no nothing. I can't take it seriously that this was a "perfect couple" if in a couple days things escalate like this and without any real reason for it (outside you being away). Then there are "choices"... suposedly there is an NTS and an NTR path, but the difference is tremendous, taking the NTR "path" is just missing all the content. So you basically have a kinetic novel that pretends that it isn't.

Render quality is mediocre, not only in execution but also in believability: there is no way there's a camera taking those "photos" and "videos" so she can send them, there is none, not in the way things are supposedly happening. Also, there aren't that many renders either, and animations are very very few and very basic. I took out all the sound since I found it annoying as hell. At least I found no bugs in it, which is nice. I do get that the vertical "camera" is meant to feel like it's a phone screen, but it doens't work for me with no other elements to make it look like a screen (like battery levels, wifi, and so on) and in PC it looks just like an almost-empty screen.

So, all in all, unless you really really want a generic story poorly told with a phone, then you'd probably do better to skip it.

I have played the game earlier, I found it detailed, oriented and vibable. I can relate to the characters and the story. It is really good to play. As an advice, try to detail it more. The lewd the story, the fun to play the game.

It's no different from many other similar games, NTR, the distant cuckold husband, the slutty wife with few situations, and there's a BBC or a slutty friend who hypnotizes the wife and turns her into a whore, in short, the wife is a person without a soul, a doll built for other people's games, then many situations are comical, but you write with one, instead you do sexing with the voice, haha, inconsistency. Everything inconsistency.

NTR path review.

Played a bit until I couldn't take it anymore.

This is one of those games where human interaction is a foreign concept to the dev or something. Nothing makes sense.

First of all, this is a phone game, but in many instances, the dev forgets that these people are texting. Like when the gf is texting something to the MC, the friend who is sitting next to her can hear it or something lol. The GF and her best friend are together at the beach, and they are in a group chat with the MC, who is away on a work trip. And the group chat conversation flows like they are all speaking face to face. Why even bother making a phone game if you don't even want to act like the conversations are over the phone?

Another example of this stupid writing is when they are sexting, they write out things like "Fuck~~ I'm cumming, babe!" I mean, sure, if they are using voice to text while sexting, maybe that makes sense, but who the fuck does voice to text rather than video chat for this kind of thing?

Another dumb shit was the whore friend "spilling some water" on the GF's dress to "distract" the cop into not giving them a ticket...? And the GF somehow wasn't aware that her dress was completely drenched? And the cop got flustered and forgot to give them a ticket? What kind of logic is this?

As for the story set up, yeah it's the SAME fucking thing with the whore best friend that, for some inexplicable reason that is never explained, wants to turn the GF into a whore while telling the MC her intent and sending him the evidence. And although I won't play it to find out, I'm sure the MC will act in a completely nonsensical manner about the situation that will be developing with a clear play by play report from the whore best friend.

Give this one a pass. The writing is just awful.

Story:
Like in any NTR/NTS phone game either Husband or Wife has to go far away and they can only communicate over text messages. The story has nothing special at all. The Husband finds an rare artifact but it's the same as in the other games where you hack your wife's phone.
Even the game is called A Perfect couple.. who would have guessed? You only have NTR or NTS. Shit happens either way you just decide if MC likes it or not.

Characters:
It depends on what kind of game you expect. If you are looking for dumb porn logic stuff ignore this point. But if you are looking for at least slightly real behavior then skip the game.
MC:
Exactly like you would expect after playing the other Phone games.
On NTR he is against it and on NTS he is confused and get's hard.
Wife:
She is just dumb. Not the cute way of dumb.. just dumb. She is so terrible written you won't believe what you are reading. And it doesn't matter if you are on the NTR path where she let's a guy grind her the whole time after just arriving or on the NTS path where she helps out a hobo because "fuck logic".
Wife's best friend:
Even worse than the Wife. She is the usual very toxic and annoying friend with the life goal to make her friend a slut. I don't understand why this kind of character appears so often in games. And always this stupid "Come one you know you want it" bullshit.

Background / Character Renders:
The good thing is that we have Daz renders instead of the same boring looking AI images. They are not good but better than AI.
The usual shopping scene. The wifes friend is showing MC a picture where she said that she leave the curtain a bit open on purpose. The image shows that the curtain is halfway open and the wife is on full view for the stranger.
And the picture "which is taking by the wifes friend" is taken next of the strangers ear. Who on earth would take a picture from there? And that is something that happens the whole time. The pictures that the wife's friend is sent to MC are all taking from positions and angles no one ever would do.

Mechanics:
The mechanics are green because I had zero problems playing the game and there were nothing that annoyed me.

There is not much content yet and it doesn't feel like 0.5. I would say it feels more like 0.2. or on the NTS path like 0.3.

A Perfect Couple" is a fantastic game. I'm really enjoying the story and the choices you can make. The artwork is great, and the characters are very interesting. It's a fun experiencew8ing next update GL

An average phone simulator game. The story is simple, with a few interesting touches, but overall it stays within the usual standards. In the end, what really matters is that the main character is attractive, and in that regard it delivers. The scenes are also well done. Of course, it still has little content, but for its genre it works quite well

This is the fourth version since March, and the game has almost no content.
The developer needs to work hard on their game if they want this to be entertaining.
In its current state, it's boring, and I don't think it has any sex scenes yet (or I haven't seen them).

Not gonna do full review, just like this not full screen VN...

Firstly, its a cellphone screen based VN, which I never liked in the first place. Its all text based from phone interface and the MC has no real interaction.
The plot is flimsy and is purposefully directed to create NTR type moments or end up seeing even less content.
Which brings me to the next point, there is not much to begin with.
This is not the type of VN or style I subscribe to, its simply too shallow and lack any decent mechanics, interactions, visuals and I honestly can't see it going anywhere.
I will say, for what it is, how it is, and if you have little or no expectations then its fine, solid even as the LIs look good and the writing is decent.

Very low content at the time. The blue balls comes quick. Barely a couple things happening and still the gf is very easilly corrupted. Needs some work to get interesting. Whatever her friend says goes even if the gf is way more prude than her friend at first sight. The trick is so bad and obvious. I hope there will be more options to develop this in the future and way more content before updating.

The image quality is good, even though there are games with similar themes as the subject, I think the visuals are close to reality and it looks very good, and it will get much better with minor improvements in gameplay. Thanks to those who made a great game for nts and ntr lovers

The game is regular dumpster fire shit show with antagonists hiding behind distance and gender. Girlfriend a horny bimbo with no morals and bland personality. And the only reminding quality in a form of MC who is a bit of a voice of reason in the whole ordeal but since cant do anything about anything or Mc choses not to do anything it's disappointing and regular. and game three updates in and we have about five second of content in it. some fit that amount of content in first release or tech demo. visuals are about the only okay part of the game without major flaws.

This game definitely deserves a higher score in my opinion. I think some reviewers are suffering from "NTR phone fatigue" lol

While it's true A Perfect Couple follows the same premise and interface as multiple other games, it distinguishes itself in two key ways: the dialogue is very good and the graphics are 3D renders, not the usual AI style that every other phone game uses.

It's still early days but this is a very impressive start.

Too short for now. But looks promising. The plot isn't complicated but some dialogs push the right buttons in me. Choices don't matter for now but they will later. I don't recommend to play now, wait for v0.4 maybe

Very very short first release. Almost generous to call it a demo but it does what it promises. It introduces the main characters and establishes the story while teasing how it will play out moving forward. Great potential
