A second run through for the bad end

Hi everybody, when I usually play games I only complete them once on the good guy run, but recently I have thought about trying to play some of these games again but every time I try to go for the Bad guy/ Bad End play through something makes me stop, like I get too sad or something (Yes I know its a game). Do you think I should push through to see both sides of the story, and is so what bad guy play through should I do?

Thanks for reading:p

If you have tried and already don't like it then stop. I'm similar to you, as much as I loved games like Fallout where you could be a good guy or a bad guy, I could never make myself do it. I don't get off on hurting or killing pixelated people without justice or righteousness on my side.

Bringing that mentality to adult games, I also usually play games once to see only the content I like. Rarely do I play to just to see all content. Games where you play as a hapless female being abused by every male you meet? Forgetaboutit. Rape content? Not likely. Many members of this site will say it's just fantasy so what's the big deal? Well, If you don't have fantasies about being a gigantic ass, or worse, a raper and murderer, why do it?

I wouldn't necessarily suggest any specific "bad" run. You might, for instance, have some fun with the more dominant route in Dreams of Desire. I haven't noticed a different outcome, beyond a few more dominant scenes. Also, experiencing bad routes in Good Girl Gone Bad is fun.

But the number one game I suggest replaying for all the different routes is I Love Daddy. Has 10 endings, each of them reveal a different aspect of the story, or an outcome that is more or less desirable. Regardless I had fun with each of them.

As far as "regular" games such as Fallout or Mass Effect go, I think it depends on the game. When the difference between good and evil is wether you receive some extra karma at the end of a quest for refusing a reward as a hero and negotiate for some extra gold as a villain, I don't think it's worth the time. When the stories are completely different, it's another matter.

When it comes to porn games, I think, it's rarely about good and evil but more about the fetishes involved. For me this usually means only one playthrough. E.g. in Milf's Tale the protagonist can have female or male lover. I loved playing the FF version but I have zero intention on playing the MF one. So again it depends on what like. If like what all the ways offer, play them all, if you only like certain solutions, play only them. There is no universal advice wether re-playing games is worth your time.

Depending on what games we are talking about though, if it is something I can finish within 2-3 hours per walkthrough then I'm willing to go to great lengths to do a Good run (I always do Bad runs first). Games like: Anna EA, Dreams of Desire, where choices do matter in the long run.

On the other hand, if its a CYOA or creation games or games that just take ages to finish, I won't exactly go to that far just to replay. I always like more about a journey than the final result so if the journey is long, I will make it worth the trip.

I can empathise with you. What I would say is for each game you play, try alternative routes a couple of times and if you don't/can't do them, don't.
Some examples have been given
GGGB has a number of routes from almost viginal to outright depraved to extremley dark. I find when I've run out of updates or am bored exploring one of these is fun. Corrupting Katie is another like this. Some games are written with corruption of the girl as the objective, it is down to you how far this goes. Reading your OP, these types of games may just not be your cup of tea and so what?
The Babysitter on the other hand a couple of the alternate routes make me want to punch my monitor (don't get me wrong, it's because they are well written).
Just make sure you enjoy yourself and don't worry about what you should do. My best advice is keep an open mind and you may discover a whole new kink in your life. :kissingheart:
And in case it hasn't been said, welcome to F95 Zone.

That's something only you can choose... Me, i don't like bad ends. I avoid them like the plague. But i also like the tease... So, in RPGM games with clothing damage and tease attacks, i don't mind losing a battle or triggering erotic events as long as it's not full on rape (voyeur, groping, stripping, spanking or even a boob job and so on). Games that turn straight to rape are deleted on the spot. On the other hand, anything goes if it's girls only. I'm weird like that.
(Hell, i downloaded a game called Omega Quintet just because it had clothing damage even though it's not a porn game.)

I get attached to my characters. They're my peeps, virtual as they are, and i'm the only one who's allowed to tease them (in a sadistic way)...

No, it's not ;)

More seriously, it completely depend of the game. Few of them have a real bad end, I mean something which isn't just a dead end preventing the player to goes outside of what was planed. It's like the classical Choose Your Own Adventure books, there always come a time when you must stop the player following an alternate path. Just because each one of them can have their own alternate path, and come a time when you must finish writing this book.
But for those who have a real bad end, like I love daddy you named, it can sometimes be fun yes. But still not for Good Girl Gone Bad, poor girl...

There is also no clear definition of "bad ending". A bad ending could be anything from a heart breaking tragedy to the MC turning to the dark side to a simple game over screen.

Well, in my defense there are certain things I've never let ashley do. For instance she has never given in to the blackmail. And I try to temper her with Cocaine. I'm not into playing as a drug addict.

In the end it is totally up to you and the feelings you're having, that should govern how far you go with anything... Some bad guy story lines in these things go way overboard and borderline true evil, which makes you wonder about the state of mind of some authors when it goes really dark... But then again, not all visual novels/games are the same or take darker overboard routes for their bad guy story lines/game play... Some are fairly moderate, and some really are not all that bad guyish... But I do find that when developers/authors do decide to offer up various paths, some good guy routes and some bad guy routes, you usually get the hint pretty early on, as to if it's going a dark bad guy route, a more light hearted mischievous route, a less dark and more criminal bad guy route, or if it is going to go to that dark place these things shouldn't really be going...

I myself, if I think it's going way overboard on the dark routes, borderline sadistic, then not only do I stop playing it... But I always ensure that my reviews inform the public of it, so people are for-warned... There are several lines I believe no story/gameplay should cross, but there are some sick folks out there who either get off on the super dark or they just want to troll folks with over the top and insanely dark stuff, just to get a rise out of folks...

But in any case, only go as far as you're willing to go without compromising your own principles and feelings... And if you're unsure, read reviews, reading forums posts, do internet searches about it, etc... Do a small bit of research before delving into it, if you prefer knowing ahead of time, if something is going to include bad guy content you'ld prefer to avidly avoid... No visual novel/game is worth compromising yourself, just to be entertained... That being said, on some occasions I've run into bad guy story lines that were not all that bad... Again, it boils down to you personal preferences and limitation...
