RPGM - A Simple Life with My Unobtrusive Sister [v0.9] [Countercurrent Tea Party]

Good art, however, this game is heavily focused on the gameplay which in this case is the most frustrating piece of crap ever made. I can deduce that the developer just wants to make a regular game and is using the H content to attract players, test his ideas and introduce gameplay elements which unfortunately, while somewhat creative, are ultimately not that good, repetitive, grindy, and simply not fun at all. Also, there is very little H content, and most of it is just groping.

I understand that the development is not finished yet, but for months I waited to see changes to the gameplay or more content being added, but neither have seen significant improvements even now as we are closer to the expected "1.0" version.

This is straight up annoying to play.

Seriously top-tier art marred by a very very boring premise that focuses on tedious Slice of Life/RPG content rather than H-content. Instead it feels like the Author's own gaming-aspirations overclouding the core-appeal of the game: the porn.

I might be a bit biased, but I really don't understand the appeal of spending time in H-games fucking around with non-H content unless it directly ties into the narrative or character progression, and then that too should ultimately be for the sake of more appealing H-content, and not much else.

I feel like this dev uses the porn as a facade to make some half-assed attempt at a 'real game' - but you're selling this as a porn game, so I find that rather obnoxious and disingenuous. It's doubly obnoxious because underneath the fluff is a compelling idea with fantastic art - so I hope they reprioritize.

Very nice game, the art is beautiful and the animation is well made. There are many "living together with x" out there, but this one is probably the best.
My only minus is the adventure, too empty, but it's not a full release game yet, so they might change it.

This game the potential of being one of the better games out there. Especially one you can return to more than once. However, the lack of sexual content makes me worry what we do get, won't be that great. And potentially because they keep filtering out updates with new enemies and items.

I would suggest adding in something for bonks every other update maybe. Definitely keeping an eye on this though.

    Gameplay: 4/5
    Variety: 5/5
    Sexual Content: 2/5
    Grind Level: Grindy AF
    Art Style: 5/5

    positive points
Good art and good animation, nothing more than that.

    negative points.
Poor gameplay, ridiculous relationship system that's difficult to progress, events that are hard to find or activate, no system for advancing dialogue, unnecessary mini-animations, the RPG system is ridiculous and not optional, forcing the player to go to the dungeon every day.

A dev that does whatever they can to not add the one thing people actually want, expanding on worthless rpg combat and exploration no one cares about, while withholding the entire games existence to milk money from people. i don't support blackmail and greedy devs.

multiple updates of nothing and then a steam release forcing people to wishlist it, with a goal of 50,000, if they want the content they actually care about, only to release a barebones sumata scene and that's basically it.

Good game with nice art. It definitely has potential but needs some more time, but overall it's nice, the gameplay is repetitive, but I like those kinds of games to be honest (still can't segs imouto)

The gameplay loop is basically... wake up.. make breakfast, enter the rpgm layer.. walk across the river.. walk to the dungeon. Fight some stuff, get some loot, then die or retreat and go back to your house. Click the same buttons and animations every day for cooking food... then hang out with imouto, mamaybe do some peeking, maybe play some video games... then do it again. Same walk to the dungeon.. always enter from the beginning.. everything respawns every day. Leave.. make the same food, watch the same animations. Maybe after a few days you earn a heart with imouto and get a new interaction. But through it all, not much changes, you have to really search around to find the new interactions... and almost nothing you findnin the dungeon changes anything that happens in the home.

It's grindy as fuck with minimal progression and payoff. There are no interesting characters here, there is no story and no world building. The only reason to play this is if you really want to spend 8 hours playing this janky rpgm dungeon crawler and watching the same slow unskippable animations and staring at a small number of 2d art screens with a couple different interactions.

Don't waste your time with this.

(Generous) 6/10, with a lot of potential. The art is good, the animation that exists is solid and the imouto is voice acted very competently with some ASMRish bits thrown in the mix, which alone sets the game apart from its peers in the cohabitation genre. She's also very likeable, and the game's humour is quite charming.

tl;dr if they add a lot more content for the sister, cohabitation and sexual aspects of the game then this could be one of the best games in the genre, right up there with Imouto Fantasy. Right now I'm not convinced that's going to be the case, though.

Giving it a 4 stars since the grinding is a little bit intense, but i presume in the definitive game, it'll be less of a chore since we will have more "scenes" between each labyrinth roaming day. I hope they'll a lot more, but i doubt it.

superb game ever from chinese devs.
tbh, i never was fan of Chinese's eroge. they are fast , cheap, and story is clunky at best. but this one break all my bad impression.
    Art
was nice, first thing first, i couldn't lie, Art is just out standing. they nail it... no doubt.
    Voice acting
tbh, i usually played game with regional voice acting. like, i will use CHN over JPN in Chinese titles. even tho, they sucked....but not this game. this is the very first time i enjoy CHN in Eroge. unbelievable.
    Game structure
very cool concept, even tho they called it eroge but i know they truly want to make an indie games. not just eroge. they spend so much time in creating combat system. i can see throught their passion and i praise for it to success as they dream it to be

that's all for the good, now, let get to the negative point of view.
game is slow, not normally slow, it's extremely slow. both from input lag to processing within gameplay. they need to do something about this. or people will got tired of all the grinding before they can make any real impact process.
game still contain full of bugs and crash. i have no high hope from small devs but the amount is insane.
H-scenes still in development state, i don't hate it, but i don't like it either. since no H-scenes update equal to i have no reason to grindthrough hours and hours ingame. i like how the story and game process going but, they need to balancing between chores and reward.

i still give it 5 stars as gratitude and praising. but the game need to fix these side problematic to attract more buyers.
    speaking as v0.82

First of all the game is great. I love the animations and the little comedy that happens around you and your sister. It's great.....if it wasn't so slow. I get it. You need to build up your relationship and all but the pace just takes forever. It's repetitive,it takes forever to see one scene and what annoys me the most is how slow the game is. And by slow i mean how the game progresses. You talk to your sister, go to a dungeon that's buggy as hell, fight and HOPE you don't die or fall into a hole which is INSTANT DEATH unless you have gear to reduce fall damage but still only does half and all. Then you go home, play cooking mama, play head pat simulator with your sister, rinse and repeat until you get that nice red heart. Then you need to turn that RED heart into a PURPLE heart. Then you have to do it again and again and again. Wake up, Get stronk, Get lucky, Fight to get food and money, go home, Cooking mama, Head pat simulator, red heart, turn into a purple heart and then repeat.
The worst part is that for some reason the game get's a HUGE Drop of FPS when you reach certain scenes. I played long enough to finally get a handjob scene and it was moving like i was watching a slide show. Yet for some reason when i watch her take a shower it's smooth as fuck! How does that even work?!
It doesn't matter if you have a gaming laptop or a strong pc it still has low FPS and honestly i don't know why it does that. You may not have to experience this but sadly i do and i know others do if you read the forum.
As much has i want to
My thoughts on this game when i played it
-It's great with voices and all but the fact that you have to go out to gather things is annoying cause the fighting system kind of sucks
-You fight but no lvl system. You get like....2 skills at best. Senpo and a slow ass spin attack.
-there is a quest to not get badly hurt. Meaning that you need to go home when the time runs out. Sadly they don't fucking tell you this and i only figured it out when i read the forums. Even worst you have to do this for 30 days STRAIGHT! you die=start all over. I think the reward is like a free pass? Might be wrong but i will admit i never completed it. Just read it here somewhere.
-Try not to cheat too much. I think when i did i could never give her the philosopher stone and proceed with that event so yeah
-They have a detailed guide in this game so if you know what you're doing you can get most of the scenes. Just Reach this much hearts, follow the guide and you're good to go. It's easy, simple and really you only need to care about 3 sections of the guide. Tips, Recipe and simulation/the scenes.
-If only the game didn't go through a Extreme Low FPS at certain scenes this would have more stars from me. As of now the only thing i can enjoy that isn't a fucking slideshow with bad FPS is her taking a shower, Her Masturbating and me waking her up....yeah....that's normal for some reason. Anything related to her pleasing me or even inspecting her mouth causes Huge low fps.
Hopefully they fix this but until then i don't see a reason to play it as the low FPS into a slideshow when playing certain scenes ruins it. Just imagine....All that work and you finally get a handjob....only to see that it becomes a slideshow cause of the huge spike lag and low FPS....yeah....not worth the time and effort to see a Low FPS scene.
I wish the devs good luck and hope they fix that problem

This game sucks,I had high hopes for A Simple Life with My Unobtrusive Sister given its charming premise and engaging RPG mechanics, but the recent updates have been a major letdown. The update content feels incredibly sparse, with barely any new features, story progression, or meaningful additions to the gameplay.

I've TRIED 3x to like this game since the past because my first impression for Art style is superb, and it's a cohabitation game! I just have to give it a chance right? Nope.
After this recent update (V. 079b), I only could bare to waste my time for 8 in game days and scrap this crap.
On a fair standpoint, let me break it down :
    The Good:
    • The only good point in this game: The art + voiced. That's it. I admit this game have superior art style compared most games in this site. But just a superior art is not enough for a good game
    • Somehow they provided a "detailed" guide, that serve no help for me beside recipe.
    The Bad:
    • SLOW PACING, wtf. Everyday i had to deal with this slow crap imouto waking up, slow talk, everything is so damn SLOW.
    • RPG element/Dungeon. Why do they even include this? Seriously, its bugged and contribute 0 sense to the cohabitation life. The battle sucks, the scaling sucks, i fell down to hole, instant death. No leveling, crap mechanics (item, skill) blergh.
    • Minimum H. Again, what's the point? at best it's an ecchi game. I even used savehack to ramp up the heart & lewd, but STILL need to drug the imouto with pink poffins and watch her masturbate. I found no explanation how to screw this imouto.
    • The UI, it's "different" compared to norms., and it's awful.
Enough rambling, i'll give 1* for the art. 2/5 game.

Supported the author after trying it out here. The art style and animation are excellent.

The dungeon-crawling portion could use a lot more refinement, because it's just filler or an obstacle to get back into the good portion of the game, though. There needs to be more incentives to explore.

One of the better 2D-style games I've played beautiful art. I'm very picky when it comes to P/hen games, but this one just hits right. (also lots of easter eggs/things you never knew were there without a few hours of play overall 4/5 (needs to be updated)

At the moment of rating this, the game is still in the works. But the vision of what the game will be once its finished is definitely interesting with NLCH's really nice artstyle and though while it's kind of like a simulator whilest being an RPG, I can see the potential that the story may have in the game which I hope the story will flower out even more after further developments. Looking forward towards the finishing product.

That's a decent game for what it is at v0.50, got me hooked up for few hours, just exploring and fighting mobs, as i try it for the first time. I want to say so much, but from where to begin with? One is clear, didn't felt like a 5 star game to because few points which i'm gonna mention.

+ I loved the freedom of movements, exploring and fighting. Obsolutely stunning. When in most games the word grinding is something unpleasant and being a burden, here feels nice. Might be because i don't play so often rpg games, so i can easily find out that one the most interesting so far, beating out way more popular titles. There's a randomized aspects, where you don't know when and where mobs gonna spawn, or what they gonna drop. A real epitome of a game, which can hold the game on it's own for now, as it lacks content in other areas.

    - I hate how slow the new day starts. There should be an option to just jump out of bed and enter faster the dungeon. All that slowly proceeding repetitive text every morning is tiresome, and non the less the long way to the dungeon's entrance at the end of the map. Basically all of that feels like it takes you as much time(if not even more), as the time you spend in the actual dungeon itself. There was a mention in the game that there might be something like a portal for fast reach, but i never found it. Idk even if it's in the game yet. If it's not, hope it's gonna be added sooner.

    - Buggiest game ever! No doubt.Funny how spending so much time in developing that huge pile of empty territories that's still not in use, transform into the lack of spending a little time of playing your own game after each update, to discover that buggs and errors and fix em. They are terrible and gameplay killers.
The avatar's movements got frozen each time you fight and get hit by that big white bird.
Melee weapons doesn't show up or work either, if you want to play with such. Idk what cause it, perhaps putting in use any of the range weapons, since at the beggining the sword and the stick worked perfectly fine. I think it happened after i found the fire bow.
The game errored and crashed after i killed that bunny-girl creature in the dungeon.
And all of that i've experienced in my short gameplay. I assume there's way more errors and buggs to be discovered.

    - Not a fan of the save/load menu, i guess it's something usual for an rpg game, but still i doesn't like it. We have to be able to do saves whenever, not only during the night in the house.

It's understandable the game is in it's very beginning of developing. That's why i don't want to mention as negative points the lack of ...
I guess futher content with the imouto is on the way, but except that, won't be bad if we see a bit of MC developing, as skills and armor for him to use, not only weapons as of now.
I hope to see more text or even more story explanation. We had by one sentence at the beginning what eventually might've happened to the parents, and that the imouto has some kind of vampiric condition, which force the MC(her brother) to enter and scavenge the dungeon in search for cure. But nothing further more.

!!! I think some kind of journal would be a HUGE HELPER. It's mandatory for an rpg game to have such of some kind. So you can track more easily your progress, and not search the forum every time you get stuck. It would be important to know you have reached the end of the content for the current game version. It could be journal-encyclopedia type, where you could include useful information of all kind - as monsters for example, their types and weaknesses, stats, etc.

I should change my review because since this game was released, the only focused content in the game has been combat, like a kind of RPG, and boss fights.

With each update, more difficulties are added to the game's combat, such as reducing weapon damage, more boss fights, removing good weapons, more enemies in dungeons, increasing enemy speeds to an absurd degree... things like that... which I'm sure means that many who come to the game download it because of the little sister, not the combat...
so much so that on the game's information page, the main advertisement is the little sister, but the focus of the game is combat.
which ends up being very disappointing...

I've been following this game since the first updates, and there are always those promises of "more stuff with the little sister in the next update," but at this point I expected more, even from the main story... which there is so little of yet.

Unless they make the little sister the main focus of the game and leave combat as something secondary, I can't recommend it, and that's why I'm changing my review of the game after all this time.

Note: The game is quite buggy, so whenever an update is released, you have to wait for the update to reach version "F" or "G" to be stable enough to be playable...
The kind of thing that happens when you try to implement combat that's too complicated for a RPGM.
