RPGM - A Struggle with Sin [v0.6.1.0d] [Chyos]

I resisted playing this game for quite awhile. I prefer VNs to sandboxes overall and the graphics looked just janky.

After playing it, This game is stellar. The site consists of tons of porn games on this site where there's a threadbare story to get to porn, i.e. Lots of porn with a threadbare game around it. If you came to get your rocks off quick this isn't that.

This is a game with porn in it, and it may very well be the best pure game on the site. Well written questlines and engaging gameplay that while not always perfect, is just fun.

This has quite a few polarizing kinks, and they can all be turned off. Don't like incest? It involves one character and has to be enabled. If you're like me and don't like NTR, you can turn that off from the outset.

The graphics are still janky though.

A strong story, A good plot hook and a MC that actually has a good deal of depth and intelligence. This game is a pleasure to play. The H-Scenes are animated servicably. Not the best but FAR from the worst. The Models are kind of realistic. This may be to some peoples tastes and not others. But it does give the RI's a lot more personality than is common to see. Expect different bodies, Ages, races and species.

I've often heard this game being compared to peasants quest. This is not a fair comparison. This game has way more plot. A way better MC and way better scenes for the most part. It's just a way better game.

I avoided this game for a long time because of comparisons with peasants quest .. which I hate. These two games are nothing alike. If you disliked Peasants Quest, You should 100% give this a try.

I have been supporting Chyos on patreon for a few years now and they're one of the only devs I've never turned off monthly payments for. A Struggle with Sin, to me, is an addictive RPGM sandbox that sucks you into its surprisingly well crafted world while also letting you live out a real rags to riches power fantasy. The MC begins as an unlikable dweeb, but being able to grow into someone the townsfolk admire and respect is just such a gold star for me and not a lot of games do it well, adult oriented or otherwise.

The animations and models are unique, to say the least, but it doesn't take too much to get used to them. Each girl is unique and most of the main girls have varied, interesting paths.

There's replayability with differing choices and you can choose to be good or you can choose to slowly (or quickly, really) corrupt the women who have grown to trust you. It's a true RPG in a lot of ways and that's not something I would've ever expected from a place like this.

A Struggle with Sin really reshaped my idea of what an adult game could be and I have been happily keeping up with updates year after year. I'm not sure if or when this game will finish in my lifetime, but honestly? I'm gonna let Chyos cook. 5 easy stars.

I loved this game because of gameplay and world building, When I started playing I wasnt expecting much, i didnt notice how 6 hours passed story grabbed me by the neck, i was collecting materials, leveling up skills, slowly cooking missions this game gave me more joy than multi-million dollar AAA games,

Exceptional and exemplary game! Never ever i've seen such diversity of characters, faces and body types. Individual stories, like a lot and lot of them! And the whole lore with genuine god names, and an original divine plot. Lot of great, interesting and beautiful poses too! Although, almost no ass eating and no tit sucking (no face squirting, but that's a minority issue) so far, one can hope though And the music in hidden scenes! It's AI, but it holds all the necessary situation and lore words! Which instantly making it great and indicate the soul of the creator present.
With another town - Kirlic, which is about to be open, i would say it's a very ambitious project and i wish to Cryos all the patience and consistency in his work, because so many have fallen in their path, i mean so many...

Wildly good sandbox mechanics. One of the best RPGM games I've played. Good lore, some interesting stories and loads of freedom. The NTR is done well and is completely avoidable. Huge amount of content.

Visuals can be a bit hit or miss, specially with the earlier scenes which can look really strange and robotic looking but I believe the dev is remaking some of those.

One of the best games in the genre. Good story, interesting gameplay and charecters. Crafting, combat and leveling are well implemented.
However, some of the charecters doesn't have designated quests, so you have to develop them on your own.
YOU HAVE TO PLAY

Already 6 years of development and dozens of hours of content... It's just wow!
I have only touched it once before, I guess around 3-4 years ago, but never proceeded further than several neighbours back then. So, I am more than impressed in what I see in today version.

The game is literally one of the best in Harem+ genre. It also includes heavy but avoidable NTR, which was initially declared by the developer as "content for loosers". However, I guess the approach was changed in the course of development, as there are more and more additions to this fetish with every update.

I won't go for pros and cons, just give you some of my impressions:
-- Auto Hunting sucks. I want to strall across the map and NOT raise the bow at every and each rabbit/deer/wolf/boar.
-- Combat is imballanced and time consuming. Some enemies grow as you level up. There should be an option to autowin, as the game already takes 40+ logged hours for playing the stories solely and autowinning with cheats.
-- The game is lagging because of its engine, but still it's playable. Next Christmas, I'll definitely ask Santa to port it into RenPy.
-- Tetris addition in the recent update is just .
-- Stories range from good with multiple branches (Rumah Camp) to blatant and kinetic (Ariana & Cult). Moreover, some stories overlap and depend on each other without any explicit note in the quest log, so it just halts your progress unless you check the walkthrough.
-- Almost every female you encounter is a virgin. And almost every cherry can be popped by non-protagonist characters. Oh, come on!
-- There is the in-game world development, so if you missed some stories, you need to replay from the very beginning (or your timely save).
-- On the other hand, there are quite contrary issues with the game world. You can exterminate every and each cultist during a resque quest, and the culstists will be in their den during the follow-up quest. What conspiracy organisation in their sane mind risk to send followers to an exposed place of their previous residence, where a massacre of their unit has recently taken place?
-- Using Cheat Menu and playing with Variables and Switches deepens the immersion, as it gives more control over your sandbox to shape your own storytelling. E.g., increase the variable for Kate's story progression, and now you force a virgin suck strangers' cocks, while she's innocent and adores you -- quite a rare fetish in porn games.
-- Inconsisten approach to involuntary sex and NTR. Most girls almost immediately switch to cheaters; for some, you need a bit more encounters, some don't care whatsoever.
-- Too little involuntary content, or such content instantly transforms into NTR.
-- Protagonist is hexed with (in)famous Curse of Dumbness. Luckily, not everywhere, mostly in NTR branches.

All in all, this is a gem, a masterpiece already.
I'm wishing the developer the best possible luck in his work!

this game is THE GAME for me honestly the fights and how losing a fight has consequences and even if you do win you can have the NTR events and you avoid them this freedom makes it not only replayable but also give you a lot of choice to decide how the story goes and the corruption system is amazing that the more you corrupt them not only their actions changes but also their dialogue and I love it I've been playing it for 30hrs and more and replayed it multiple times with different choices and again I love the ntr aspect of it that you can make those choices or not and you can build your harem and choose to share them or not or maybe some of them and how you can have threesomes with more characters than you think this game really gives you the freedom you desire in these kind of games and the fights in it are a bit challenging but you can make them super easy if you prepared for them, I just hope the pdf guide get updated more often because sometimes you might miss some things but the game doesn't fail to give you a hint about them.

in conclusion I love this game and I'm going to support the developer and I hope this game continues untill it is fully finished.

Just a few tips if possible.
1 - When we skip time, try to smooth the transaction, helps with a better performance.
2 - Some quests have no feedback on progress, like Frishas and Penny (spy on Abraham and Elisabeth [Got trapped here for hours]).
3 - Highlight some quest interactive objects like that church and the altars.

Nice game...good gameplay even if I have to cheat with the walkthrough. Numerous opportunities to branch to being a hero or a manipulative bastard.
I'm not a fan of the monster stuff but it is largely avoidable or de minimus.
Hours and hours of play even if there is some grinding.

I was pretty fan of some 2D RPG game back in time (Yes, I'm old ...) So I tried some on this forum. Well, I must say that this game is now in my TOP3 :
1 - Peasant's Quest
2 - A Struggle with Sin
3- The Office Wife (even if it's more linear and an other kind of "kink")




- The story
- The animations and how 3D et 2D match so well
- The characters in 2D (the only "problem" is that some clothes changes don't match with the equipment)
- Many choices in the quests order and matching dialogs
- The choice between Love, Corruption and NTR routes (I like NTR but not in harem games if not Netori even if I confess I tried the NTR route for Tia and found it hot ...)




- The 3D faces (I see the game is pretty "old" and the newest 3D models are pretty expensive). But as I read somewhere on the forum, the game is so good that we sometimes forget that (And it's seems that the last characters additions are "better"
- Livia legs !!!! Even a female bodybuilder hasn't these ones (I mean, she is a "fantasy game middle ages soldier" but...
- Some grinding (but as many others RPG games)




- The games in my top 3 are all about Gods (even The Office Wife in a "modern world) and all about the same goddess of love, fecondity and/or sex (Ishtar, Innana or Qadesh)

It is like Peasant Quest with much worse sex scenes and a better battle system and world building. Also, the game feels very unfinished.
As far as I understand, there is no pregnancy content in this game, or you have to play this game for years to get at least one girl pregnant. It was much faster in Peasant Quest.
At the same time, all sex scenes are so short. They are almost like gif images, and the graphics is shit. In my opinion, Peasant quest compensates short scenes with pregnancy system. But there is nothing like this in the game.
The battle system is very cool, and it was one of a very few things I enjoyed. It is almost identical to Octopath traveler. You really need to think when you make moves.
Unfortunately, the game has so much grind that you will grow to hate fighting in this game.
Also, NTR aspect of the game is so shit. This is what put my ass on fire the most. Basically, Lucius, shop owner, ntr'ed me with Penny, and I couldn't anything.
The game just told me either I pay him 20 gold or he fucks Penny.
I tried to talk to Penny, and I tried to rob him to get money. Not to mention, I don't understand how he can enforce this dept on me at all. But Lucius is just protected by the game.
I can literally rob fking head of the village, and I have my own personally army. But I can't do anything to a small merchant?
It is ridiculous. I wasted hours to corrupt Penny, and he just does it in 2 minutes. It has no logic.
In my opinion, if you add ntr as an additional element to the story. Then ntr has to be realistically avoidable. At least let me respond somehow.
I saw some people praise the developer for his constant updates. It seems to me that he no plans to finish this game. In this case, constant updates is not a good thing.
This game has been in development for so many years, and you still cant get any girl pregnant. I downloaded a complete save, and to my big surprise I saw that not a single girl received a satisfying ending to her story.
I enjoyed some game mechanics in A Struggle with Sin. But the most important part (sex and pregnancy) still feels bad and unfinished.
I would give this game one star for my wasted time, but I try to be as unbiased as possible.

Time to complete a majority of nonNTR content was about 60 hours
Art: 3/5 models look dated, but there are still quite a few scenes that make good work of them.
Animation 2.5/5: It's pretty basic, but still helps makes the scenes better.
Sound effects 1.5/5: The couple dozen scenes I listened to were mediocre at best and I eventually decided to turn the sounds off after a while.
Gameplay 2.5/5: While the sneaking and mini games were fine, the combat and exploration were underwhelming.

Pros-
Large variety of scenes and girls. There's orcs, goblins, white chicks, black (halforc) girls, dwarves, and more. Being a chieftain of a village of dark skinned chicks was the highlight for me and I hope more games do similar things to this.
Being able to change angle, speed, and positions during scenes is great and should be the standard one day.

Cons
The game starts at a glacially slow pace to the point where it took over 5 hours to get the first non story related sex scene. This would be fine if things like combat were more interesting, but a lack of abilities and gear progression along with enemies scaling to your level makes it feel like you're never making progress.
If you want to complete the majority of routes for girls and get most/all their scenes then you pretty much have to follow the walkthrough.
While you can repeat most scenes by going and talking to the girl, not having a gallery makes you walk around all over to see them again and with so many scenes and routes it's hard to even know if you're missing scenes without one.

Overall a good game with a lot of potential, but with some glaring flaws that will hopefully be resolved as development continues.

This game is a rare find in the medieval fantasy adult genre. The story, art, and mechanics may not stand out on their own, but when combined, they create something truly special. It’s immersive, emotional, and delivers a unique experience.


My main issue is with how the NTR toggle works. While I appreciate the ability to turn NTR off, it unfortunately removes some compelling narrative choices—not just the scenes, but meaningful character decisions too. It would be great if those choices remained, with the scenes adjusted accordingly for non-NTR paths.


Some quests are also a bit unclear in their importance—whether they’re optional or main content. Given that the game’s still in development, this is forgivable, but a clearer structure would help.


Overall, the game has huge potential. If the dev sticks the landing with a strong, satisfying ending and refines some of the branching choices, it could become a top-tier title in its niche.

This game, is so damn good i love how the story progress but then i am still just farming a bit love the story this Author have made so far.

The Animations is top, can have some problems some times but can't really complain about it.

The actors, they have made, and how it feels a bit like immersive i love it.

5/5 Addicting as Special Wine
I've been playing this for a week straight and I'm not even halfway done, This is quite the RPG experience. On First impression, the RPG Maker nature and stuffness of animations, semi par character models and basic combat will make you feel meh, and then as any good RPG it builds on it.
And soon, it transforms into an almost medieval fantasy simulation experience, where the 'adult' parts are just aspects of the game, and you slowly begin to uncover its mysteries.
The writing is overall great, even though there's many misses still and it can feel awkward to jump from one LI to the next, and I hope the future versions tie those loose ends together, but overall the game is just absolutely immersive as heck and though I would like so much more depth in rpg mechanics, for a WIP game this is absolutely amazing effort.

Wow, this is such a great actual video game. i'm so immersed in the world and the character's stories. Every character has their own relatable background story, personal problems and twists! I have played for 70 hours now—min-maxing used in-game days—and there are still new interesting characters appearing and quests coming up.

- The character's stories are believable and every character has some new twist or idea. And there's sooo much to be discovered (by version 0.6 already).
- Some continuations of some quests are tough to find, but that makes discovering them feel super rewarding.
- Up until a certain moment, there's now grinding required or even possible (enemies respawn after some in-game time, but I expect everybody wants to minimize the amount of in-game days used; you may define <grinding> differently than I do).
- The background music is quite diverse and helps the immersion a lot. Note: It's not newly created music. I knew almost all music beforehand from other games or RPG pen&paper creators, but that doesn't matter.
- There is NO voice acting. But there are some human sounds/noises at least, also greatly aiding the immersion.
- The combat is almost great. Enemies should just be about 2x to 4x as strong (or our characters much weaker). But it is still enjoyable.
- Gold felt great in the early game. In the midgame, I had much more than I could ever spend. But that's true for basically every RPG on the market.
- My only big downside was - The game is very performant/fluent and I had only one bug in 70 hours.
- I discovered many small situations where extra dialogue was implemented for some minor edge scenario. These wouldn't have been necessary but they make me feel the developers' love/passion for the game's world building and player immersion.

Great and fun game. Another favorite of mine. Amazing characters, engaging story, different paths, lots of fetishes, combat, regular updates and fixes. Personally I would have liked more pregnancy, but that's just my personal opinion. I can only recommend this game.
