RPGM - A Struggle with Sin [v0.6.1.5] [Chyos]

I've spent untold hours on this game. Usually, with sandbox styles like this, I get bored of the repetition or the lack of coherency/progress of story. But with A Struggle with Sin, I found myself invested until the end. The dev is active and responsive as well. Amazing game.

played this based on rating alone and i have to say, phenomenal game!

this is the only game like this I've actually enjoyed. I've tried peasant quest and goblin layer before and just couldn't get into it. but this one did it!

i play with cheats and a walkthrough(there's only so many hours in a day) but still, I'm thoroughly immersed. even if the graphics are mediocre at best, the story is so good that I can nut and still not lose interest in what comes next. And that's rare!

also the music and sound design is very good.

Played this game so many times,

One of the rare games, that you can play and enjoy it even without having sex and NSFW content.

Which means the game itself is fun.

I really enjoy the world in the game, the sound, artstyle is also very unique.

Story of the game is quite good.

A strange mixture of review and requests, so here we go..

Stunning story, visuals, music, immersion, characters, compelling minigames all adding great value.

The implementation of areas and communities that would periodically need your attention and care as the player who governs them was also genius, enriching greatly the game's dynamics and interactivity.

Great care should be taken to make repeatable content/activities(farming, hunting, fighting etc.) interesting as much as it is humanly possible and for the most part this game had me this much involved (and was so well made) to also succeed in this regard. There is always room for improvement by adding even more motivation/reason to engage in any activity.

I would love to see the affection system with at least some of the game's characters deepened to greater lengths than just the 20 something points that it currently stands and can be easily reached with just a couple of encounters; and consequently the relationships to be made more complex and harder to achieve introducing even more events/reactions on the way.
NPCs moving and interacting more with each other and the environment so the world feels more alive.
[That all is a bit (asking for) too much I know]

The mother nun in the monastery, the only mature that REALLY looked like one, made for some extremely hot content, so more of that please! I would love to see even more variety with regards to the age and the body types, leaning towards older and more curvy, at least in some cases.

The only bad thing about playing this game that I personally experienced is that you will seriously struggle finding any other game here that can hold to such high standards after immersing yourself with this one. The contrast will be inevitable and sour. It's like been treated to a wonderful delicacy that forms a lasting memory and then be forced to eat from garbage.

After much playtime, I experienced the end of the line for many quests as they were reaching their limit in the current update, and it was a bit heartbreaking; I was informed with the dreadful red letters that I reached the furthest the quest can go, one after the other.. Great, lengthy quests that I was very eager to see their progression. Admittedly my worst moment in the game.

There is a lot of content as is, but hopefully it has a long way to go. I don't know how many people are involved in its development but for the much time that I have been playing I have noticed no updates. That is a bit alarming, since there is a long way to go and anything could happen to halt its progression or burn the developer in the process if he's alone. I hope this will never happen and I would really like it to never reach completion either, if that means to stop receiving new content.

Evident to how much I liked this game is that since I wasn't always following the guide not to ruin my immersion or spoil the progress, I accidentally took a route that wasn't to my liking. I gladly quit midgame twice and started over with no issue, enjoying replaying all early content. I wouldn't easily do that for any other game.

That's all I can think of right now, I may add a bit here and there later..

Unlike most H-games, where the focus is solely on constant H-scenes and the plot often takes a backseat, A Struggle with Sin surpasses those expectations. It provides immersive gameplay, well-crafted H-scenes, and a story that’s woven together seamlessly, making each aspect feel meaningful.


Of course, no game is perfect—there are a few bugs, occasional soft locks, and some quests that can be a bit too vague or unclear. However, these are minor issues that I believe can be addressed with future updates. With some polishing, I can easily see this title standing alongside the greats like Being a DIK and Karryn’s Prison, thanks to its rich world-building and addictive mechanics.


This isn’t just a hype piece—it's a genuine review. And honestly, I’m satisfied with how the game is evolving. I look forward to seeing what new features and improvements the future holds.

There''s so much to do all the time that the game became an optimisation puzzle in a really satisfying way. There are no real time limits especially with NTR off so you can play the game in basically any order you like. A lot of the girls are surprisingly likeable given that I'd expect more barebones characters because there are so many of them. It also impressed me how much content there is with most girls, I felt like I could have spent hours only progressing one girls storyline if I wanted (although some girls progress is tied to pursuing other girls so if that's a turn off for you then heads up). I would like to see corruption matter a bit more - I didn't finish the content there currently is but there were only a couple times where the MC's corruption stat mattered for where I got up to even though the whole idea is that he's been cursed with uncontrollable lust and is struggling with it.

This Game is fucking huge and awesome. I already have over 88h playtime and i'm still not finish with the story. And no you must not play that long to unlock H-Scene, there is a ton of H-Scene. The Gameplay with its story is amazing. Its gotten a well writen story and mechanic.

I resisted playing this game for quite awhile. I prefer VNs to sandboxes overall and the graphics looked just janky.

After playing it, This game is stellar. The site consists of tons of porn games on this site where there's a threadbare story to get to porn, i.e. Lots of porn with a threadbare game around it. If you came to get your rocks off quick this isn't that.

This is a game with porn in it, and it may very well be the best pure game on the site. Well written questlines and engaging gameplay that while not always perfect, is just fun.

This has quite a few polarizing kinks, and they can all be turned off. Don't like incest? It involves one character and has to be enabled. If you're like me and don't like NTR, you can turn that off from the outset.

The graphics are still janky though.

A strong story, A good plot hook and a MC that actually has a good deal of depth and intelligence. This game is a pleasure to play. The H-Scenes are animated servicably. Not the best but FAR from the worst. The Models are kind of realistic. This may be to some peoples tastes and not others. But it does give the RI's a lot more personality than is common to see. Expect different bodies, Ages, races and species.

I've often heard this game being compared to peasants quest. This is not a fair comparison. This game has way more plot. A way better MC and way better scenes for the most part. It's just a way better game.

I avoided this game for a long time because of comparisons with peasants quest .. which I hate. These two games are nothing alike. If you disliked Peasants Quest, You should 100% give this a try.

I have been supporting Chyos on patreon for a few years now and they're one of the only devs I've never turned off monthly payments for. A Struggle with Sin, to me, is an addictive RPGM sandbox that sucks you into its surprisingly well crafted world while also letting you live out a real rags to riches power fantasy. The MC begins as an unlikable dweeb, but being able to grow into someone the townsfolk admire and respect is just such a gold star for me and not a lot of games do it well, adult oriented or otherwise.

The animations and models are unique, to say the least, but it doesn't take too much to get used to them. Each girl is unique and most of the main girls have varied, interesting paths.

There's replayability with differing choices and you can choose to be good or you can choose to slowly (or quickly, really) corrupt the women who have grown to trust you. It's a true RPG in a lot of ways and that's not something I would've ever expected from a place like this.

A Struggle with Sin really reshaped my idea of what an adult game could be and I have been happily keeping up with updates year after year. I'm not sure if or when this game will finish in my lifetime, but honestly? I'm gonna let Chyos cook. 5 easy stars.

I loved this game because of gameplay and world building, When I started playing I wasnt expecting much, i didnt notice how 6 hours passed story grabbed me by the neck, i was collecting materials, leveling up skills, slowly cooking missions this game gave me more joy than multi-million dollar AAA games,

Exceptional and exemplary game! Never ever i've seen such diversity of characters, faces and body types. Individual stories, like a lot and lot of them! And the whole lore with genuine god names, and an original divine plot. Lot of great, interesting and beautiful poses too! Although, almost no ass eating and no tit sucking (no face squirting, but that's a minority issue) so far, one can hope though And the music in hidden scenes! It's AI, but it holds all the necessary situation and lore words! Which instantly making it great and indicate the soul of the creator present.
With another town - Kirlic, which is about to be open, i would say it's a very ambitious project and i wish to Cryos all the patience and consistency in his work, because so many have fallen in their path, i mean so many...

Wildly good sandbox mechanics. One of the best RPGM games I've played. Good lore, some interesting stories and loads of freedom. The NTR is done well and is completely avoidable. Huge amount of content.

Visuals can be a bit hit or miss, specially with the earlier scenes which can look really strange and robotic looking but I believe the dev is remaking some of those.

One of the best games in the genre. Good story, interesting gameplay and charecters. Crafting, combat and leveling are well implemented.
However, some of the charecters doesn't have designated quests, so you have to develop them on your own.
YOU HAVE TO PLAY

Already 6 years of development and dozens of hours of content... It's just wow!
I have only touched it once before, I guess around 3-4 years ago, but never proceeded further than several neighbours back then. So, I am more than impressed in what I see in today version.

The game is literally one of the best in Harem+ genre. It also includes heavy but avoidable NTR, which was initially declared by the developer as "content for loosers". However, I guess the approach was changed in the course of development, as there are more and more additions to this fetish with every update.

I won't go for pros and cons, just give you some of my impressions:
-- Auto Hunting sucks. I want to strall across the map and NOT raise the bow at every and each rabbit/deer/wolf/boar.
-- Combat is imballanced and time consuming. Some enemies grow as you level up. There should be an option to autowin, as the game already takes 40+ logged hours for playing the stories solely and autowinning with cheats.
-- The game is lagging because of its engine, but still it's playable. Next Christmas, I'll definitely ask Santa to port it into RenPy.
-- Tetris addition in the recent update is just .
-- Stories range from good with multiple branches (Rumah Camp) to blatant and kinetic (Ariana & Cult). Moreover, some stories overlap and depend on each other without any explicit note in the quest log, so it just halts your progress unless you check the walkthrough.
-- Almost every female you encounter is a virgin. And almost every cherry can be popped by non-protagonist characters. Oh, come on!
-- There is the in-game world development, so if you missed some stories, you need to replay from the very beginning (or your timely save).
-- On the other hand, there are quite contrary issues with the game world. You can exterminate every and each cultist during a resque quest, and the culstists will be in their den during the follow-up quest. What conspiracy organisation in their sane mind risk to send followers to an exposed place of their previous residence, where a massacre of their unit has recently taken place?
-- Using Cheat Menu and playing with Variables and Switches deepens the immersion, as it gives more control over your sandbox to shape your own storytelling. E.g., increase the variable for Kate's story progression, and now you force a virgin suck strangers' cocks, while she's innocent and adores you -- quite a rare fetish in porn games.
-- Inconsisten approach to involuntary sex and NTR. Most girls almost immediately switch to cheaters; for some, you need a bit more encounters, some don't care whatsoever.
-- Too little involuntary content, or such content instantly transforms into NTR.
-- Protagonist is hexed with (in)famous Curse of Dumbness. Luckily, not everywhere, mostly in NTR branches.

All in all, this is a gem, a masterpiece already.
I'm wishing the developer the best possible luck in his work!

this game is THE GAME for me honestly the fights and how losing a fight has consequences and even if you do win you can have the NTR events and you avoid them this freedom makes it not only replayable but also give you a lot of choice to decide how the story goes and the corruption system is amazing that the more you corrupt them not only their actions changes but also their dialogue and I love it I've been playing it for 30hrs and more and replayed it multiple times with different choices and again I love the ntr aspect of it that you can make those choices or not and you can build your harem and choose to share them or not or maybe some of them and how you can have threesomes with more characters than you think this game really gives you the freedom you desire in these kind of games and the fights in it are a bit challenging but you can make them super easy if you prepared for them, I just hope the pdf guide get updated more often because sometimes you might miss some things but the game doesn't fail to give you a hint about them.

in conclusion I love this game and I'm going to support the developer and I hope this game continues untill it is fully finished.

Just a few tips if possible.
1 - When we skip time, try to smooth the transaction, helps with a better performance.
2 - Some quests have no feedback on progress, like Frishas and Penny (spy on Abraham and Elisabeth [Got trapped here for hours]).
3 - Highlight some quest interactive objects like that church and the altars.

Nice game...good gameplay even if I have to cheat with the walkthrough. Numerous opportunities to branch to being a hero or a manipulative bastard.
I'm not a fan of the monster stuff but it is largely avoidable or de minimus.
Hours and hours of play even if there is some grinding.
