A take on NTR versus corruption

I know there's a lot of hatred for NTR or cheating in general. People have various perspectives when reading the story: some don't mind it or relate at all, some identify with the one doing the cucking, some as the cuck and they hate it, some as the cuck and they love it, and even some as the girl. Really, you name it.

Personally, I just go for the NTR or cheating games because they are usually the ones who cover some aspects that I love, that being the secrecy (it helps if there's a boyfriend/husband but not strictly necessary), corruption of previously "nice girls" and sex in hidden places or taboo circumstances.

I don't know why I enjoy this so much, a friend of mine had a take on it saying it might be a latent subconscious desire of "grooming", as in being so disappointed at females in general that the idea of grooming a seemingly untouched pristine women and turn her into the object of your desire is appealing but you'd never do it in real life so you seek it in hentai. I don't know about that, I used to like tentacle porn a lot 15 years ago and now I can't stand it but I can promise you that I never wish I grew tentacles.

I find myself searching for "NTR" or "cheating" tags all the time because they end up having those motifs more than tags like "blackmail" or "corruption". Usually when I start reading a manga and the woman just turns out to be a closet slut I'm instantly turned off and stop reading so it's really not about the cheating or NTR.

In conclusion, I actually end up enjoying redemption arcs where you break the character but you still see a sort of human side of her and she was "good" all along but just wasn't able to give in to temptation at some point. I mean, I wouldn't take her back but good for her, know what I mean?

Thoughts?

Heh, i float pretty much on your way with NTR i always liked it for a strong willed and morale woman giving in to pleasure, not i fan of hard NTR with focus in humiliating the protagonist when it is a male mc game.
To much of them goes to the old blackmail/rape till she likes it and can only think with her vagina, i know it's the easiest to write, but when a good, charming the woman out of their beliefs, happens it's always a bomb!

Sadly i can't seem to recall any game that did a good job at that wasn't a netori game. Only some h doujinshis.
It's a hard to write genre that needs very good skills in storytelling. As knowing when to show/hide a scene, the stakes being played, the weight of certains actions and the hidden meaning of certaines phrases.

But it's a phase that i am stuck with for a while now, i guess maybe 8 years or so? Before that i couldn't open an NTR doujin, sometimes i still quit some heavy ones haha. I guess i will fall out of it for the scarcity of good material rather then lost taste, if the scenery stays as it is, that is.

Initiating an innocent lady into the ways of carnal pleasure is pretty common even in more vanilla games, IMO. But the question about when and if the cuck will find out, and what will then happen, means that there's always that undercurrent of tension in NTR games. That's something that most other genres don't really have.

There's also the taboo aspect of someone's lover/love interest being stolen, and, for me at least, a bit of schadenfreude at seeing it happening to someone else. I very much agree that there's a strong appeal to hidden sex, which also taps into that tension about whether/when they'll get caught.

I'd say there's a balance to walk between simple schadenfreude and reveling in misery porn though, and some games really enjoy delving deep into that pit of misery. Not my cup of tea, I like the tone to be a tad bit lighter, thank you very much. Anyways, schadenfreude, tension, and sneaky sex are some of the aspects that I think makes the NTR genre so enticing.

Don't let people shame you for the entirely-fictional porn you like to consume. Who gives a shit?

Sure, a lady being initiated into the world of sex and finding out she likes it can be hot (corruption). Sure, somebody getting sex on the side while in a boring relationship or seducing a lady who's in a relationship to have sex with you can be hot (cheating/NTR). If somebody hears about you enjoying either kind of porn, or indeed most any other kind of completely fictional porn, and judges you for it, that person is a judgmental asshole and you shouldn't give a shit what they think about your porn consumption. If anything, they're probably just trying to distract you from whatever unpopular kind of porn they like by attacking first. The porn you enjoy might indeed reflect how you actually treat people IRL, but it's how you treat people IRL that makes your character, not the fiction you like.

Oh, and watching cheating porn isn't what makes you want to cheat. It's the existence of other people than your significant other and the fact that you have a libido at all.
