Ren'Py - A Tale of One City [v3.7] [Project Blossom]

For some reason, this game resembles a QSP RPG – there are too many common problems with such projects.

Of the advantages:

• The cast of the actresses is well chosen, and there is a lot of content with them. However, some videos are out of style and context
• The dialogues are written quite decently.
• The plot, although secondary, is not stupid or annoying, but develops gradually.
• There is an "open world", although it cannot be called truly open. Nevertheless, you can spend several hours in it with interest.

Of the cons:

• Terrible optimization and a bunch of bugs.
• The game takes a long time to start, and at some point the quest on the branch of one of the heroines may break. If you don't have a save, you'll have to start over.

Result:
If you like "adult" games in the spirit of QSP, but don't want to bother launching them, then this RenPy project might be a good option. There's a lot of content, a passable story, and there's some grinding, but it's not too suffocating.
Personally, I would put 3 out of 5, but due to the terrible technical condition, I reduce it to 2. The developer hasn't completed the project yet, so there is a chance that the problems will be fixed. At least, I hope so.

The game is kinda interesting. Cast is pretty good, some of the mechanics with the power is interesting.
But where the game seriously lacks is optimization. It works really slow on my laptop, which is strange. Not sure why it happens, maybe because graphics are too large. And there are factors which make it even worse - there's a ton of unnecessary transition screens, which makes playing even harder. Not to mention it requires hundreds more clicks than necessary, which really sucks when you use trackpad.
Game size can also be greatly optimized, by maybe removing some of unnecessary graphics. The unimportant stuff, like eating or moving from place to place, has a lot of variety, but makes the game size too big.
Overall, the game quality can be improved in future, but for now you get tired of pointless scene skipping within first couple of hours of playthrough

A lot of 1 star review... so i gonna give a go, i am Shock after playing all day... i LIKE it yes got bit BUG / error Rnpy but.. ignored or skip it seem to fix it ahead.. meanwhile slow down.. do happen i got mid tier PC (R5 5600x/32GB 3200mhz ram/RTX 3060 ti) but is playble and i kinda like it... FEEL like playing HighRise porn game vn/sandbox but with real porn... maybe game get A lot more Love if sex was made for this game... maybe using real porn update game be faster ?

I play thisgame for the first time is in the version 1.0, and i really like it because the personality of the mc is not a loser and the corruption thing is good for me. Then i stopped playing after im completing the 1.0 version to wait until the update is big enough like this one, but after continuing playing this game i feel like the personality development of the mc is becoming more loser for me like hesitating to corrupt his landlay or not and really oppresing his desire while the event before that he is saying to his landlady that she is too oppressed about her desire like make any sense to me. So yeah on version !.0 when i first time playing this game i really recommend it but now im not really for the people that really not like a loser mc.

The idea - brilliant.
But all others - sucks. 2 many greend (work example), 2 many blocks (you can't raise your STR, but you dont understande why), broken quests (stuck at 18 at with character, but need 20 and you can't raise her) and etc
So, you dawnload massive game (~13 gb), farm few hours and dont get anything, but headache.
30 work clicks? 50 next month? Are you serious? It's game have so much potential, but this is so much pain.

I'm willing to get it in a few years if unnecessary repetitive work and unknown bugs are eliminated and a clear walk-through is provided. However, I don't want to play the game right now, and I don't want to recommend it anymore.

Ridiculous grind.....

Whatever else this game has to offer is overshadowed by the insane amount of repeating events over and over and over again.

You turn asexual before you get to the porn bits because the grind will just mentally destroy you. Stay away!

A Tale of One City [v2.2] [Project Blossom]

Pros

• A nice story emphasizing incest & polyamorous.
• Utilizing real porn videos (from popular porn sites) for the story/game is a great plus point. Selection of videos and the images are done to the great such that they match/fit perfectly with the scenarios very well. Simply amazing.
• Incest approach with MC’s mom is being portrayed a bit differently. Guess it will be good, especially mom’s reluctance to give-up the morality was very well expressed.
• Reluctance of incest approach with the younger sister (Tory) was well portrayed. Very seductive and teasing.
• Excellent quality of image/photo renders.
• Excellent quality of videos
• Playability and grammar are just OK no issue

Cons

• Sound: nothing much remarkable
• Slow / lagging performance; most probably due to the numerous videos. Often blank screen is inevitable which was irritating.
• Dragging of the story; lack of guide/walkthrough.
• Cheat is open for subscribed members only and not available for general public is a drawback.
• Lack of genuine or more of fictitious for sexuality especially with outside character.
• Too any linking/dependability of events; these are greatly affecting the game/story progress. Though the story/game is interesting unable to continue due to lack of guide/cheat/walkthrough

The GRIND is real, and it right here.
The game is really slow with several transistions, often just a black screen, between everything.
The energy system is most likely the worst I have ever encountered and makes absolutely no sense.
And don't even get me started on the engrish... it is teeth grindingly bad!

It has become a game that I regretfully stopped following. And they made it ridiculous by making it mandatory to go to work every day.

I can't play this. The constant de-focus to black and re-focus transitions make my eyes hurt, and the dev uses them everywhere! Add to the that the game uses a really big font size for messages (so you get a lot more transitions) and it has about a half hour of explaining the interface , the new stuff that's been added to the interface, the patreon only perks and who knows what else.

I'm not a bit fan of the video clip transitions either. You get a short, badly focused video for walking downstairs at your home. You get two of them for starting work at the office.

The dev chose a style for his game, did something a little different and I have to respect that. But I don't think I can play this.

Imagine how I felt coming back home after working 10 hours in the office, letting this 11GB monster download, just to find out that you have to work in a fucking office. Not only that - You can only really grind out and progress characters in the weekend because if miss too many days you get fired. Fantastic. Mom/Tori scenes were hot though.

EDIT: Using the UnRen mod to win battles and reset attendance made this game much more palatable. Although the english isn’t always the best at times, the script is understandable, the story is pretty solid and quite enjoyable I can’t lie, even the office parts. I was a bit harsh on this game at first but not going to lie I am enjoying it. Changing my review from 2 to 4.

Ok wow so it is true that this has to be the most tedious game. Nothing to really keep engagement, rewards far in-between unless you got the patron version, sad this looked promising. I actually really like slow burn games. But this is on a whole different level. You have to show up for work everyday, except weekends, which okay...Makes sense, but if your attendence goes too low you lose the game, which is easy to do. If company goes bankrupt you lose. so meaning you are constantly going to work and bed,.. Which I guess nothing wrong with. Your going to find yourself in a cycle unless you follow a guide or have the Patron version of the game. The sex scenes are okay, but not really spicey. though I do enjoy real porn, but they seemed a bit unrewarding for the unyielding grind. As mentioned above, I actually like slow burn games, but phew this takes the cake! So if you go at this game keep that in mind xD .

If you come for the story, its really not great, charachters are empty of all life, choises are fake ones - Do you want to fuck - Do you not want to fuck

If you come to fap, the grind is terrible and the rewards are mediocre at best,

Only "pro" real porn is used, if thats your jam you will be micro-dosed and the patreon cheat will be your only way to fap since scenes are so short and meh in flavor, you will need alot of them and they do be long to obtain. ( dont even know for sure the patreon mod will make this fappable / playable. )

Nothing here is worth your time if you are not a hard pro porn scene enjoyer either way and if you are there is way better games ou there, who do shove there patreon code/mod

This could be a generic, average HTML game, which is a very very very low bar to start with, maybe a tiny bit over average since it TRIES to at least insert a story rather than throwing GIFS at you, but the writing/engrish is bad enough that said GIF throwing might have been a better alternative. The story itself is a basic bitch porn story, nothing interesting but I'll still take it over some new ideas that people have been coming up with. The MC is the usual unlikeable pansy that has at most 2 neurons competing on which is the laziest, very much a doormat most of the time too.

Gameplay is often buggy but even if you get past that, it's still grinding hell even after updates that were supposed to fix that. The UI and the navigation is quite awful as well. The minigames, terrible idea and sets a shitty tone to the whole thing.

Another issues is that what started as a promise for a harem game turned into some kind of NTR/Netori simulator.

The bolded above, pretty much a lie. But even if that wasn't the case, the fact that it went from "fun" harem romp to having this disclaimer says enough. Pretty sure the people explained the difference between skippable and avoidable many times over so don't expect much there either. Still, there's this.

I don't usually bother with reviews, I just put things on ignore and move on, maybe I'll stick around a bit if the thread is entertaining enough, but I rarely participate even then. This is an exception because it's a disappointment on so many levels and I wasted time on it nearly from the start. Sunk cost fallacy is a bitch.
Would not recommend to anyone, no matter your fetishes, you're bound to be disappointed by a multitude of reasons beyond said fetishes.

I saw a review mention how poor the English is, saw a couple screenshots and it looked fine. What a fucking waste that was. Look not being fluent is okay but if you're gonna release a text heavy game then yeah you should be fluent and not have mistakes in every single line of text. Besides that it doesn't do anything substantial to make up for it. Also I'm fairly certain I capped my strength for this build, since it doesn't go up anymore but there is no indication that's the case and I have no idea if that's just oversight on the dev's part or I haven't made it to a part in the story where I can level more. Yeah this is bad, avoid it.
Edit: Forgot to mention, the mc is also a dumbass bitch boy, the worst archetype in porn games. If it weren't for the player this stupid fucker couldn't even find his own ass with both hands in a brightly lit room.

The game is very troublesome, requires a lot of patience. I went crazy playing this game. No need to go to work, no need to go home, no need to go to work, no need to play computer, no matter how much energy we will go with. I'd better stay with this much, the game is that when I say that you spend a lot of time trying to make money at home, it would be better if there was a jump option once you work, but there is no peh. You've gone crazy so far. Next up are the torture wars that you enter to pick up girls, I say torture, because to impress girls, you must either be a Mythological being or a superhero as soon as you are born. The statuses are also intelligence,skill, it takes a lot of time for you to contract. Just to impress the girls. Otherwise, it doesn't work because you can't get up and say I'll beat up 2 guys. Besides, if we fought pokemon with the girls, they would be more impressed with you. We came to the battles, you win 1 out of 10 matches, which means that I will probably start it like this. As for the scenes, you will be blinded if you drop a little more than 360 pixels from a producer who is content only with pictures and low-quality videos. Interactions are very tiring, and you do fifty jobs to advance the business, and you advance the story of 1 girl in 4 hours. Guys, I'm crazy, I'm crazy about this game, I'm crazy, I wouldn't be so crazy if I was in a mental hospital. If you say that I am a patient man or my daughter will not be a problem for me, it will not bind me no matter what I suggest. My advice to you is to play apartment building or agency, if you want to come to enjoy them, play them. This is the worst game among open world games Dec making. Thank you for reading.

Yes I understand English isn't their first language, however, I'm sure all they would have to do is ask for help and there would be several volunteers.
I'm not so sure about the part where you have to battle women in order to have sex with them. That sounds a bit too rapey for me. It is also pretty confusing at the moment.
This game also suffers from having many scenes with different people all claiming to be the main character, or aunt, or whatever. It really ruins the flow of games when they just throw videos up that don't match with the game, or have different people in them from scene to scene, or locations for that matter.
I think I missed the part about how frequently I need to show up for work. I'm not sure if it's just when I need money or what. After a few weeks the MC was given a task at work which everyone thought was funny for some reason. When you leave home to get to work, it takes all morning so you don't get there till noon.?.
Also things like the gym cost an absolute fortune! $3k

Most certainly nowhere near the worst game on this site but needs loads of work. Several errors including freezing and exiting will surely be fixed in future releases.
