There are some things like clipping, shadows and some textures that will only turn up once a shot has been rendered, so sometimes you will need to render a scene like nexer showed in 0.095. Jumping between creating a scene and rendering and back again is something I do with my renders all the time
But then there's no actual guarantee those numbers correspond to what we think they do. And as long as the numbers keep ticking over to keep his patrons happy, what they actually refer to is irrelevant.
