Duel 3090's with an NVlink will give you almost the equivalent number of cores to a 5090, but more importunately for large scenes, 2x linked 3090's gives you 48gig of Vram v's 32gig for the 5090.. Personally I would take the Vram over cores.. My 2 cents.

I think a workstation RTX Pro 6000 with it's 96gb vram would be a better option over a 5090 but the $9k+ price is a little on the steep end. (or even the RTX 6000 Ada would be slightly better with it's 48GB vram but still almost the price of 2 5090's)
Everything about that statement is horseshit. Anyone that believes in the GPU thing or even the baby thing is a total sucker.
But let's just stick to the GPU/AI aspect:
Not only can you use 2 GPUs in multiple models just in Comfyio (along with basic RAM), there really isn't much you can do in his use case with a 5090 that a 3090 couldn't do....let alone two 3090s. In fact, I know multiple people that passed on a 5090 FOR two or more 3090s (and 4090s).
You can't do much more on a 32gb card than a 24gb card. Both still render 5 second videos locally in multiple minutes and at 720p, usually upscaled. When you use a site for your rendering they are using GPU farms/servers. They aren't spitting out your 5-10 second clip in 2 mins using a single consumer card, they have H100, H200s and many of them. They have modded 4090s fit with 48GB and more...lots of them. They have enterprise hardware.
Liar & Procrastinator cannot do much more at all with a 5090 than the 3090s. Even then it's just image editing (as far as anything commercially viable). Even if he locally ran WAN or whatever other video I2V AI generation, he'd have a ton of upscaling going on that would be noticeable. Sure, the 3 second clip of the hot chick you know getting cummed on may look solid but that's not in a product like a VN you're making for paying fans. In short, video generation can be done on 3090s and a 5090 but both still aren't ideal for it at this quality.
Image editing is what it would be for but that can be done on a 16GB card. Shit, a 12GB card can do image editing. Render speed is increased by 10-20% per step up, or some massive gain.
But fuck it, let's talk about "the baby" lol.

100%. The cores would give a 10 second boost to render speed.
Still, outside of image editing even 32gb isn't great for any AI video gen.m, be it T2V or I2V. You'd want the 48gb there, too.

Yes, not so much an apple for apples comparison. But absolutely a dream rig.
A while ago i was undecided to buy 2x RTX 2080s or 1 RTX 3090, i went with the latter and I also made some tests on Google Colab, 1 GPU such as the RTX 5090 is faster than two 3090s the VRAM does not stack, the CUDA cores and Tensor Cores is what matters the most, if you use dual GPUs you still have bottleneck, they came up with NVLink to replace the old SLI but it turns out that you only want two GPUs, if you are doing multi-task and can't wait for the GPU to stop 1 job to go do the other.
I have no idea how DAZ or any of the 3D rendering work, i can only speak from the AI side

To explain, in Daz3d the scene you load needs to be able to be contained in the GPU's Vram completely for the GPU to do the rendering. If the scene exceeds the VRam, the scene will instead be rendered by the CPU which means you can go from minutes or hours to render a scene to literally days.. I personally use a RTX4080 (16gb Vram) as I don't have the support to expand beyond this hardware spec, but my preference has always been to wait the extra few minutes and let the GPU do the hard work, instead of having the cores for speed I can't use because the scene exceeds the VRam capacity, and the GPU sits back and does nothing.
