If it ends up being a BJ only, which I agree would put him on par with Ellie... Would the development time with the renders and animations be worth it? Sophia/Ellie's event did not have this much "level" of development for dining at the Y.
I think that is two separate questions. Because the render total is mostly bloat, and so are the animations.
There is no need for 1k renders for this "one event update" that is, I argue, multiple events stringed together (yoga-game-dinner-movie-event5) and a lot of those animations are also not used for whatever happens in event 5.
So I'd say no, it's not "worth it" because about 75-80% of this update has nothing to do with whatever progression there is, because most of this update is just rehashing the previous progressions (kissing, gropes etc.) but with animations instead of renders.
And while that is all true, it's also true that it does make *sense* to have Dylan catch Ellie, but not surpass her. Even with as discombobulated as the story has become, LP still needs to keep the rough progressions of each route/important character the same. Dylan getting more than a BJ (or the other way around) sets the bar too high for other characters to match in their respective routes anytime soon (in LP time).
This all wraps back around to what has been a long term discussion about LP's failure to manage the scope/pacing of this game. If Dylan gets more than oral (giving/receiving) that is a sign that LP has said "screw it" and is planning on wrapping this game up sooner (in LP time) than the decade+ estimates that have been (accurately) posted.
