What example- You implied that there was no way a male could control there actions since it is genetic. If you look at the exchange it is clear from the sense and the back and forth that is Ellie speaking:

If it has to be Logan, I don't see Sophia sacrificing herself to save her daughter, it's a bit unrealistic and a bit out of character.
