VN - Ren'Py - A Wife and Mother [P2 v0.230a + P1 v0.152] [Lust & Passion]

I've never seen such a terrible update for any game! It seems like the developer is trolling its fans by ending updates with a sex scene before it even starts. Is this what everyone's been waiting for months? This game isn't worth your time.

DISCLAIMER: my review doesn't account for development time. I know this is a big downside of this game but the F95 rules say you shouldn't really even be reviewing based on that and my thoughts are that if you're reading a review you are trying to figure out if this game is worth playing in which case development times won't affect you until you actually finish all the content and are waiting for more. I will say, do not play this game if you want the FMC to have had full sex (as of 0.230a, that has not happened aside from the faithful path with her husband, but who even plays that anyway ).

My biases: I love beautiful FMCs, good renders and environments, slow burn, cheating scenarios, and MILFs and landlady/tenant scenarios, and this game hits all of that.

Premise: In this game, you play primarily as Sophia Parker who just moved to San Alejo with her family for her husband's job. The game takes place (so far as of this review) over the course of 3 weeks and you play through each day, dealing with all the typical cheating/corruption FMC-type scenarios (naughty students, naughty husband friends, naught "tenants"). There are various plot lines within each of these branches but the story is more slice-of-life than plot driven. You get the chance to get Sophia into naughtier and naughtier situations or pull back.

My review: The first time I played this game I started at 11 pm and played until 6 AM, only finally sleeping because it was the weekday and I couldn't afford to pull an all-nighter. I returned the following night and played again until 5 AM, once again sleeping because I had to, not because I wanted to. I didn't go to sleep late on the third day because I finally played through the content. This game might be the #1 game I've played in terms of teasing, slow burn, and INCREDIBLY hot FMC scenarios of the cheating and landlady/tenant variety. Since playing this, I have continued searching for games on this site that rival what AWAM offers and I have not found one that's beat it. If I could, I would erase my memory of this game, port myself 20-30 years into the future or whenever this game is (hopefully) finished and play through the whole game in one experience. I think I would be done with AVNs after that.

AWAM does the things it does VERY well, which is why despite the long development times and accusations of milking by the developer, so many people follow this game, even if out of spite. I don't think you can get to that level of (in)famy by simply being a bad game, otherwise it would've lost any interest (good or not) or following years ago.

I'll list pros and cons below, but really I think you should play this game and only avoid it if anything I list in the final section is a deal breaker for you.

Pros:

1) Excellent renders. The renders from the start of the game are a little dated since it was 2017, but even those are still decent and it only gets better as the game goes on. In addition, the scenes are full and lively. Not only are the human models detailed, the environment is often fleshed out and great to look at.

2) The sound effects are good. They add ambience to the story that I really appreciate and it doesn't go overboard. The lewd scenes also have sound effects which is nice. This is not as strong a point for the game though as its visuals are.

3) The writing is detailed. I'm not going to say it's an AMAZING story or the dialogue is awesome, but it makes sense, sounds like normal people (so far as a porn AVN can be considered normal) and doesn't take you out of it.

Expect to do a lot of reading though. This game treats the AVN more as a novel than a TV show. My preference for AVNs is that they are primarily dialogue, occasionally inner thoughts, and almost never scene/detail description. The dialogue is a fine length, but the inner thoughts are on the longer side and some descriptions feel unnecessary. I for the most part was not bothered by it but I can see how if you feel uninterested in the characters or story, then it would become a chore.

4) Animations and lewd scenes are excellent. The animations, at least as of late, are done with AI but it is not noticeable in my opinion; they look just as great. In addition, the lewd scenes are incredibly hot and long. Multiple times I would start a lewd scene and when I thought it was over, it would just get hotter and hotter. This is a treat compared to games that just treat the lewd as a quick 1-2-3 checkbox and quickly wraps it up before moving on.

5) The game has really high production quality. What I mean by this is stuff like menu, features, gallery, UI, etc. The ability to toggle fonts, text box, dialogue is very detailed, especially in the part 2 file for the game, almost like a built-in mod. In addition, the dialogue choices and impact are clearly spelled out and the game has a detailed official walkthrough that is quite helpful. The gallery is easily navigable and detailed and really let's you play through a lot of the scenes and gives full context of each one, plus considers your choices and branching.

Cons:

I really don't think there are many cons and even the stuff I list here is more so relative. A lot of these I wouldn't even consider cons, especially when compared to other AVNs, but these are at least points that I don't think it does as well as what it does best.

1) The characters aren't THAT deep. I like the FMC as a main character and her immediately family isn't bad (though I know many do NOT like her son Dylan but I don't think he is bad), but some of the side characters aren't crazy compelling. I'm not holding my breath for those characters to have compelling development.

2) Slow burn. I am generally fan of the slow burn and I do like the teasing pace of the game, but it is definitely on the slower side of slow burn. In addition, sometimes I feel like it's unrealistic. I know that if anything, often the unrealistic aspects of AVNs are how fast paced and "porn logic"-ey the games get but in AWAMs case, I think in real life a woman like Sophia would've already done far more than in AWAM if presented with the same scenarios. In some of the branches it feels like the FMC is in this holding pattern of "I want to but I can't because it is too bad..." for too long when any realistic person would have succumbed or successfully resisted already.

Dealbreakers:

In my opinion this is what really matters. I think if you like a slice-of-life story where the FMC gets in increasingly naughty scenarios and the story gradually builds sexual tension, you should give this game a try. It probably does the best in its genre. Really, the only reasons you shouldn't play are if these are your dealbreakers.

1) No full sex. This game does not have full sex yet (other than with the husband). I don't even think there's a blowjob yet (though I think that's coming in the next update), but IMO there are much hotter scenes than a blowjob (skipping third base to go to third and half base if you will). So if you need full sex to properly release the tension/teasing the game does, then wait to play.

2) Slow development times. I honestly don't even know if this game will finish at the current pace it is going. To me, this isn't an issue if you are playing for the first time because you won't be experiencing any wait, but if you are worried you'll get attached to the game and hate long development cycles, I would avoid this. However, I think everything the game already has is enough for me and I'll just continue to put this game on the backburner as I wait for future updates.

In my opinion, if the only thing that you changed about this game was that it was released in 2023 rather than 2016-2017, this game would be 4.5+ stars on this site. I have played many 4+/4.5+ rated Milf FMC cheating and corruption-esque games on this site, which AWAM at least matches if not beats in quality. But clearly the development time is very long and many have qualms with that. The game itself is good IMO so really it is just whether you see yourself being able to stomach long development times.

I mean where should I start.. Its a dumpster fire that has been in production for 10 years with content that does not even come close to what ten years of content making should look like.

The game itself is just a big ball of ehh, the story is bad to average, the updates contain so little content I am not sure they should be called an update and instead our more like a patch. The models are ok at best, its cliché at best and just lazy writing at its worst.

There are so many better games than this that I will not be wasting any more time with this one. Do yourself a favor and avoid this highly over rated game.

Promising game if the pace of creating and story slightly increase. All character models are awesome. Love the concept of 2 protagonists. Wish to see sharing as well especially with Dylan and Sophia. Hope the nursing storyline got exempted.

AWAM is a «slow burn» with each new update featuring only a small
tease and nothing more. What's the point if fans of this game have made their own game with far more sexual content? The last update was a huge disappointment... It seems like the game will be updated forever and will never be fully released.

We're coming up on a decade of development, with a game runtime and content quantity that is far from representative of what decade of development should look like. in terms of events ; nothing of note has happened. this is a drip feed of lack luster content that fails to deliver almost in any front, especially for it's target audience. I dare not call it a scam or a rug pull based only on the fact that TECHNICALLY there are updates, but is clear this game is no longer, or perhaps never was about delivering it's audience a story, but is instead a medium for the developer to dangle a carrot on a stick indefinitely, as long as there are those foolish enough to keep chasing it. After all, who wouldn't dangle a carrot to fools, if doing so printed you money? We would all hold that stick for decade if we could, sadly doing so is detrimental to the game in every facet, and within this context the game is average at best, the writing we do get is decent, the renders are the only saving grace if any exist . I don/t see a world where this project could be rated above average, and I think as time goes on it will trend lower than even that.

Is it slow compared to other games in delivering content? Yes. But it makes up with incredible visuals and scenario where we can digest what's happening. I always like my games to have a step by step approach i find my happiness in the hunt than the meal. So this my kind of game.

This is one of the best AVNs in the market with amazing 3D renders and well-constructed stories. It's a slow-slow-burn story so MC hasn't even done BJ or more yet after this VN started 8 years ago. For those years, however, dev and their patrons made great efforts to keep the story consistent but interesting in various ways. Highly recommend this AVN.

The premise of this VN is actually quite interesting that's why I tried it, However, the writing is just too tedious especially during the first 4-5 hours... I understand that this a Slow-Burn game but even for this case there were just too many boring and unnecessary lines in the dialogs, not to mention the "narrator" lines which make me think that the developer thinks players are stupid or something, trying to explain everything in detail, it was too much. That being said, after those first hours it gets better. Renders were very good actually, girls look hot, you won't see animations until "Part 2" but they were very well done.

Overall I'd give it an 8/10, I liked our Milf MC, I could recomend this game but don't expect hot sex right off the bat. I have to admit that I ended up enjoying the different plots, as I said it's worth it if you can tolerate a slow...."slow-burn"

This is one of those games meant to forever be in "development" so the dev never runs out of monthly income.
8 years and going strong.
And yet, with all that time, there's barely any action or content with the MC, it got so bad someone made a "fan game" using the characters/setting just so she would get some.
Not to mention, with each update, there's new chars you won't care about being added, making for some comical character bloat, instead of focusing on the obvious and popular choices (family members).
As such I can't recommend this game to anyone. If you like the MC, play the "fan game" instead, or you will be wasting literally years of your time.

I recently played A Wife and Mother, and I'm genuinely impressed by the overall presentation. The character models, expressions, lighting, and scene compositions are extremely well-done for a visual-novel style adult game. The story pacing is slow but meaningful, which keeps curiosity alive and makes every decision feel impactful. I also want to appreciate the F95Zone community, because the discussions, updates, support, and guidance here are very helpful for both players and new members. Overall, it's a visually polished and story-rich experience worth trying.

This game is a slow burn. Part 1 is mostly seduction, teasing and slow corruption build up, which is very well done. If you are looking for a quick FAP, move one. However, if you are patient and go with the flow, believe me, its fantastic teasing and damn hot, far more arousing than a quick FAP. The story is ok, horny teenagers looking to bang hot MILFs, old men, lesbians, incest etc. Part one graphics and animations are very good.

What is mind blowing is when you reach part 2. There is a HUGE improvement in graphics and God Tire animations. If you go slow, take in all the scenes and then get to see the animation quality, you'll need to be God if you don't FAP and cum!! The Damn French kissing and breast sucking animations are GOD TIRE. Try it and see.

Current setup where Part 2 ends is poised in a manner where Sophia is well in the realm of reaching almost full on slut mode. The sexual scenario possibilities are just way too many.. The old guys in the Hospital, the school gang, the horny teenage boys, the promiscuous young women, the teacher, Principal, The Mob boss, Sister, Gym folks..... Sophia is in for a far bigger ride (both ends literally ) of her life.

Was skeptical first, as the stats was showing primarily only family members or kids out of school as characters where the female MC might score. Turned out, you can fine tune the story nicely to avoid deeper connections to the younger ones and prepare the MC to get more and more open to both gender. So the end of the current version of season 2 leaves a great base to go on. Concern on my side: This is in the meantime 8 years since start, so unsure, if we see a next chapter soon. Definitively would follow it.

Very slow update cycle. So much so that you will forget your choices. Sometimes it's a full year between a 5-minute update. It's a shame because the premise of the game is pretty decent. The developer has the means to hire more people to expedite his work flow. It appears as if this is a side gig or a hobby and not a real professional project.

I feel very heartbroken that such a great game has an overall rating of 3 stars. It's just because of the long development time that many people couldn't wait, But should not be treated maliciously.
It is the best adult game I've ever played. No magic fantasy, very realistic, highly immersive. Sophia is the most beautiful mother ever created in history, both salty and sweet. Progress has been slow, always in a blue state until the latest version came out with a passionate mother-son night, releasing all the pressure. The doubts will gradually subside and reverse. Hope to continue striving, making the work more passionate and perfect.

Honestly one of the best games on this site, the pacing is slow, but after years of development it seems like the story is finally reaching a place where action is happening faster and faster, and the animations and writing are top notch.

No one cares about Dylan and his side chicks. And seriously, why tf is Sam the one getting the first ride on Sofia's bush? Need some mommy-son action!

Giving it 2 stars because pacing was decent at the start and it felt like it was slowly heading somewhere. Now its heading nowhere at all. Absolute ass (wish it was literal butt nah)

I love this game, it is one of my favourite games ( I have played many) , it's good because of the story, even tho it doesn't have the sex scenes,the build up is what I love, which is really good with each characters .

This game is pretty good overall — the content is decent, and while the pacing can feel a bit slow, especially during the sex scenes, the story buildup is quite solid. The only real downside is how slow the updates are; it takes a while before a new version comes out. Some parts of the story also feel a bit unbalanced across different routes, especially those involving Sophia’s corruption, which is supposed to be the main focus. But all in all, it’s a good game.

I don't get why this game gets such low ratings, meanwhile some 15 minute slop gets 4.8 rating. Let's try to be a bit objective here and use the ratings to really push games that are worth up. Even more, I can't see what is so much to be disliked here, there's quite a bit of freedom to play the game how you like and not be forced into stuff.
