Trap 2: They hover over $5000 a month for a while, and have a target of $6500 per month to quit their side job... If they actually quit that side job, and released faster they would gain the subs needed to quit the side job.
At the moment this game project is a one man 5000$ side job, not the other way ...

Not likely due to the way the Patreon is setup. It's more profitable to release it on June 1st or shortly after that time even if it's completed a week before that. Subs whose time is up in May will need to pay June too. It's the business side of this art.

Now this is gonna get into "conspiracy theory" territory, but the game could ALREADY BE COMPLETED, along with several other games already completed that are not available in completed form. If not completed could be MANY versions ahead of current state.

Well over a year ago L&P said something along the lines of: "The story is already complete. I already have a full script for the entire story." At least in rough draft form.

Dude is making $5,000+ a month off this project. Cost of living is only like $1,000 where he lives. Lets say he live it up and is living on double cost of living. That still leaves $3,000 a month to blow on hardware and other shit... The guy could have SEVERAL powerhouse machines by now all setup in a nice little network going from machine to machine working on renders. It's not like he is posting pictures of his home work station. He is acting like he is maybe sitting on a laptop, and a desktop... Why would that be the case though?

network.png

Suppose he has some home setup something like this. Beast after beast machine working together in harmony. These don't need to be all top of the line computers in a network like this. Just like a 4-500 dollar one from best buy times 10 would do the trick! (Like 2-3 months of his patreon money could easily setup a solid home network like this one.)

With this much faster processing power from a powerhouse home network like this it would leave way more free time for him. Get those renders done ALMOST TEN TIMES FASTER.

When this project started we were getting full days in roughly the same time frame. Then it went to half days. Then it went to quarter days. So renders could be flying out of this mammoth private network of his like greased lightning and the project is WAY ahead of schedule... Why release faster though? Not gonna get that many more patreon supporters that way...

So dude could be DONE with the project by now. I really don't think he wants to sit around with his thumb up his ass waiting on renders. I wouldn't it would drive me nuts...

So just keep releasing at normal or a little slower rate milking that patreon money for all it's worth. Now got all that free time in the world because everyone things you are limited by your hardware slowing the updates. So dude really bust his balls a few months setting this network up, and doing all the renders on all the machines then several years of work done in a fraction the time.

Again, this is all theory, and I got no evidence to prove it one way or another. Such a setup would still not save any time on the modeling, lighting, pose adjusting ect, nor with the scripting. Story is already done though according to creator. If he is good at making scenes pretty quickly with such a network things would get done way faster. Working on such a network for an hour or two a day would be like working 8 hours without one.

*puts on tin foil hat* and watch out for those damn chem trails!

I am actualy not sure he can even finish the update this month. So I doubt he will intentionally hold the release. After all after renders are done he need at least 10 more days for other things-script,dialogues,bugs etc.

The story is already completed. So 0 time for dialogue. As for scripting / bug fixing ect. 10 days is way to long for 1/4 of a game day. That can be done in less than a day. I know my theory is crazy, and it's probably not true, but it's what I would do from that position. You can even outsource such things virtually. No creative work goes into scripting / bug fixing ect. I'm sure there is some dude in India who will do it for $2 an hour and be happy.

You obviously have no idea how this guy is working. So far the updates follow this pattern,he finish first all renders then do everything else. And trust me 1 day for bugs is bullshit.Everyone who made a game will tell you that.Story written does not mean the dialogue is done.Another assumption you just make out of nowhere.

i think when L&P said he has the story:he has written the event of the 30 playable days and how to turn sophia form a boring housewife into a ninfo/bisexual/incestuos mother.
and remember he is german he need to transladete all the dialogue to english
Yes that exactly. He still have to write what Sophia will tell Ellie if she have 30 lesbian temptation points par example.
Or any dialogue between characters.

My dude, don't do this to yourself.
Every few weeks on this site (every twenty-ish pages for this thread) someone starts doing this theoretical math and sparks off a fresh argument that drags on for page after page...

"Dev is making X money a month, I heard from a guy who knows a guy who says that Patreon only take out Y percentage, Dev's cost of living is only Z so they should be making enough to afford this theoretical rendering machine I've devised based on reading half of a Buzzfeed article about the computers at NASA - with an output rate of 120 renders per day. Writing only takes about 2 minutes per update, I reckon. Plus I've never done coding/bugfixing of this kind before, but I'm pretty sure all of that can be done in about half an hour. Meaning that If My Math Checks Out... the Dev is a greedy asshole."

All you end up doing is tearing your own hair out in self-inflicted frustration, and driving the rest of us up the wall.

We all want this Dev to release updates faster, but we don't gripe about it because we've accepted the reality of his release speed, whether he's milking or just slow - doesn't matter.

We'd all be on board for the guy just turning around tomorrow and releasing a whole finished game because someone called him on his grand deception. But it seems pretty unlikely.

If you want to really accuse him then more power to you, but the only way you're guaranteed to get his attention and a response is by signing up to the $1 tier on LustandPassion's Patreon and contacting him directly.

Let us know how it goes.
