It's not that people don't care about the good wife path. People want the sex to go further regardless of path. It is practically rage inducing at this point in the game to be pulling the plug entirely on the good wife path. She has gone this far without even laying a finger on a dick, yet the good wife path is going in the bin?

Sadly, I feel like trashing the good wife path is just yet another excuse to continue to NOT INCLUDE SEX. The so-called good wife path was trashed long ago. We are about 10 playable days in or about at the 1/3 marker. So far on the good wife path there is just ONE erotic scene, an oral sex one. They are going out tonight... Husband and wife to the Casino... Better fuck when they get home or I'm gonna be pissed.

Liam needs to grow a cock and fuck his wife. The good wife path is already super thin on content anyways. Which is fine. Liam must have a path through. Or else this becomes like Elena's life... Starts out with apparent choice to be faithful or slut, but turns out the faithful path is non-existent.

WE HAVE BEEN FORCED TO GO TO LONG ON THE FAITHFUL ROAD EVEN ON THE NAUGHTY PATH TO PUT A COMPLETE HALT ON THE GOOD WIFE PATH!

I'm not saying I want this to be a 50% good wife 50% naughty split. It should be an 80-90% naughty 10-20% good wife split.

If the good wife path is trashed, I want sex fucking now. Quit with the build up, and waiting bullshit. Sex now, or fuck this game. That's the trade off. Sophia better start sucking dicks like fucking soon, that are not her husbands... Or keep that good wife shit open.

As the game goes on the divergence becomes greater and greater until you may be creating two games.
So (and I am in no way saying this is the reason) maybe this is a way to streamline the game.

I have to agree with you.

I think too many Devs bite off more than they can chew.
Supposedly when the TV program Lost was being developed a few of the developers from Buffy went to work on the project. One of the first things they asked was what was the mythology to Lost? What is the storyline from start to finish. Apparently the Buffy people left when they were told there was none. And look how Lost spiraled out of control.
This is what I see happening in too many VNs the project is not mapped out before hand, or a least a realistic storyline is not mapped out.
When doing anything you have to have a realistic analysis of what you are capable of accomplishing. Just look on ebay at how many project end up being auctioned off because the person got in over their head. I almost got a nearly complete period correct frame for and S.E.5 that way.

That being said I kinda want to see Ellie and Julia get together.

Fair enough, but at the same time there are OTHER WAYS to keep the branch alive without the massive render load.
A simple reduction in nonessential renders would tell the story just as well. I'll give an example of what I mean.

The scene where the moving men are in the house and Sophia comes out of the shower. That is 10 renders on Filthy + 2 swapped in for good wife in her reacting angrily. I count from when she puts the robe on, to when she gets to her room and changing. Are 12 renders truly necessary to tell this scene?

It can be told in less, and get the point across just as well.
1) Her in the bathroom in her robe.
2) Her in her hall in the robe on her way to the room.
3) The men walking upstairs
4) The men see her
5) Reaction Good wife
6) Reaction Filthy
7) In-room good wife
8) In roomfilthy


That's 8 renders in where 12 were used. That leaves 4 renders that could be used elsewhere!

Another example can be used on simple scenes like this one getting 5 renders that go like this:
1) looking at the car
2) walking to the car
3) opening the door
4) looking at the car again
5) watch the car backing out...

That's 5 renders... Could be told in less...

1) Looking at the car
2) Open the car door
3) Watch the car back out

Bam saved 2 renders, nothing important lost near same quality...

It's this persistent and constant wasteful rendering in this thing if renders are the main issue clogging up production. Every time you see a scene that has 20 renders that could have been done in 10 renders... That's a scene we missed. We could be on playable day 15 now and into the sex if there was less wasteful rendering...



It's not just unneeded renders that slow things down, it's sometimes solo renders that are more complex than they need to be that slow things down. Ask yourself, if there were 4 or 5 customers instead of 10 at the diner here would the scene have lost anything? I don't think so... it woulda been a faster render too! Could have sat them at the bar, done a more close up shot and that would have been done faster / better. Maybe the cashier, and 1 customer in the background that's it... 12 people and a big scene rendered instead of 4 and small... Rendering this 1 image here probably took as long as like a complete solo shower scene to render... keep that in mind.

In summary, if the overall number of renders are reduced down cutting unnecissary ones, and some of the necissary but overly compelx ones are done in a simpler way the flow will be much faster.

I was just advancing a theory.
But, yes. Agreed.
Less nonessential renders and less "clutter" would speed up development.
This is why many of the high quality VNs seem have a group working on the project, and best if the group has diverse concepts of the story.
All too often a creator gets married to a project (not just VNs) and ends up not being able to see the forest for the trees.
I do not know if this is a solo project or not, but if it is a solo work then it would behoove the dev to get someone such as yourself to be an editor (for lack of a better term).
A lot of the game does feel like filler, renders that seem to serve no other purpose than to drag out action in this VN creating a false sense of a forward game momentum.
Again this is just my opinion.

Good points. Although the excess renders do help with immersion (which I personally appreciate and like) they do come at a heavy cost such as development time and story progression. Maybe the additional renders would be better served post game in order to polish it up a bit? However L&P is such a detailed oriented person, I'm not sure he could force himself to do it that way. And just to be clear.....as far as the erotic scenes go........the more renders the better.

It's called austerity or simply being more prudent in choices. I absolutely agree that they add a tiny bit to the immersity, and they are nice to have. Now L&P could solve these problems by making a bigger focus on the game, maybe hire an assistant, or quit his side job and more focus on the game.

Think of the game as like it's a family. Got Mom, and Dad, and the two kids. They do enjoy going on expensive vacations and out to eat as a family. Nothing wrong with that, but it costs a lot of money to do that. Now the wife in that family is suggesting... "Hey let's just stop feeding dad. And not bring dad along on any of our vacations..." The fuck is wrong with that family? You think that's gonna make the family happier? Maybe the family can start eating at home more to save money, and go on a little shorter / more local vacations to save money and everyone is relatively happy. To simply be like "Fuck dad, he don't need to eat or go on any vacations" is a dick move.

This whole cut Liam out shit reminds me of my buddies ex wife. Like 5-6 years back a friend of mine was going through a divorce, but I was his best friend, and friend's with his wife too. We all went to high school together. So Mr. Cool guy that I am one Friday afternoon stop over at his house. My buddy is still at work, and won't be home for a couple of hours. His wife, and her fat female bitch friend are there along with the kid. I take a look in the fridge, and there is nothing to eat. The wife aint cooking shit, so Mr. Cool guy I am... I order some pizza for him and his family out of my pocket. I chill in the living room playing the x-box until he gets home from his long days work down at the docks. The Pizza I ordered was a large and had 12 slices. Mathematically that in my head seemed like enough. 3 for each member of his family, plus 3 for me. Maybe his kid being only like 2 years old at the time only gonna eat 1 piece so the fat friend can have 2 of the kids pieces everyone's happy... That's not how it went down though. The bitch wife ate 5 pieces... The fat friend ate 5 pieces, I got 1 slice of the damn pizza I paid for, and they let the kid have the last piece. The fat cackling cunts didn't save my dude a single piece of pizza... Last time I EVER did anything for that "family", hell took my buddy out to drink instead without the wife and kid because... fuck that fat hoe. My buddy deserved at least a slice and those bitches didn't even save him a single one... Not even one... Liam deserves a fucking slice! Concerning about „complaints” in good-wife path L&P mentioned:
I didn't change anything on the good wife path! There is just talk of the length of the events which will be as long as it is necessary for the story. So nothing changed. If Sophia follows the good wife path and stays faithful to her husband there will be a great elaborate final and of course some events on the way there. I already explained what the point of the good wife and filthy path is. As a good wife Sophia has to be understanding for her husband's new job and his little time, so she herself has to take the reins and do something to make her marriage more exciting again. But if she becomes more and more filthy, she will look for the excitement outside of her marriage. This is the principle roughly summarized.

While I was never a Liam fan he was designed as part of the storyline and if the dev wants to change up the VN he has to address a way to limit or get rid of the husband in a way that is copacetic with the story.
By limiting or eliminating the husband the dev would need to recreate the VN having the wife transform into a single mother.
However if the dev removes Liam there is less of an impediment to finally having the wife's sexual antics increase or actually happen. I think the storyline would have been better if the plot where the family had to move was initially because of the loss of Liam.
As the family begins to readjust to their new dynamic the daughter, like the mother, could become more sexually aggressive. As for the son personally I like him less than Liam, so I don't know maybe eaten by a pack of rabid badgers.
But if Liam is to be written out he need to be written out not just sidelined for the sake of convenience or lack of fan support.
