Not likely due to the way the Patreon is setup. It's more profitable to release it on June 1st or shortly after that time even if it's completed a week before that. Subs whose time is up in May will need to pay June too. It's the business side of this art.
Now this is gonna get into "conspiracy theory" territory, but the game could ALREADY BE COMPLETED, along with several other games already completed that are not available in completed form. If not completed could be MANY versions ahead of current state.
Well over a year ago L&P said something along the lines of: "The story is already complete. I already have a full script for the entire story." At least in rough draft form.
Dude is making $5,000+ a month off this project. Cost of living is only like $1,000 where he lives. Lets say he live it up and is living on double cost of living. That still leaves $3,000 a month to blow on hardware and other shit... The guy could have SEVERAL powerhouse machines by now all setup in a nice little network going from machine to machine working on renders. It's not like he is posting pictures of his home work station. He is acting like he is maybe sitting on a laptop, and a desktop... Why would that be the case though?

Suppose he has some home setup something like this. Beast after beast machine working together in harmony. These don't need to be all top of the line computers in a network like this. Just like a 4-500 dollar one from best buy times 10 would do the trick! (Like 2-3 months of his patreon money could easily setup a solid home network like this one.)
With this much faster processing power from a powerhouse home network like this it would leave way more free time for him. Get those renders done ALMOST TEN TIMES FASTER.
When this project started we were getting full days in roughly the same time frame. Then it went to half days. Then it went to quarter days. So renders could be flying out of this mammoth private network of his like greased lightning and the project is WAY ahead of schedule... Why release faster though? Not gonna get that many more patreon supporters that way...
So dude could be DONE with the project by now. I really don't think he wants to sit around with his thumb up his ass waiting on renders. I wouldn't it would drive me nuts...
So just keep releasing at normal or a little slower rate milking that patreon money for all it's worth. Now got all that free time in the world because everyone things you are limited by your hardware slowing the updates. So dude really bust his balls a few months setting this network up, and doing all the renders on all the machines then several years of work done in a fraction the time.
Again, this is all theory, and I got no evidence to prove it one way or another. Such a setup would still not save any time on the modeling, lighting, pose adjusting ect, nor with the scripting. Story is already done though according to creator. If he is good at making scenes pretty quickly with such a network things would get done way faster. Working on such a network for an hour or two a day would be like working 8 hours without one.
*puts on tin foil hat* and watch out for those damn chem trails!
