Everything can be cracked... EVERYTHING. But, if this is how he wants to play, there's PLENTY of other games out there. I don't mind uninstalling something I have barely played in the past year anyhow. I certainly will not pay for something unfinished (though I have paid for this particular game in the past).

I don't think it's a bad idea to protect your game against piracy, but it should be a limited time to do so. Like for 1 week to 15 days max. He should never forget that this site is what made him famous to begin with. But I do respect not leaking the update for a period of time for him to have more subs, that's for sure.
