VN - Ren'Py - A Wife's Loyalty [v0.4] [d3sire Studio]

The whole selling point of this game (or at least what got me to play) is that the wife WILL remain loyal unless you (as the player) give her a reason not to be... yeah not really, sure she doesn't cheat, but loyalty has way more to it than that.

I'm not wanting to type the whole thing out again here, so here's my comment from 2 updates ago and, as far as I can tell, nothing's changed.

I don't know if the wife is less of an asshole later in the game because, well, aside from testing if that bs had been changed or not, I haven't played much past that point, but seeing as the hypocrisy is still in the game and the MC still has no way to call it out yeah I doubt it.

I had to stop playing this because it was making my brain hurt so bad. Your wife is literally late from coming home several nights in a row but when you are late once, she flips out. The reason you were so long was because her friend said she already told your wife. Despite having proof on your phone, he doesn't show her.

There's also some crap conversation before that about having trouble with your wife, but we didn't have any big fights at all. She would just apologize for being late and promise to be more considerate, which she never is.

There's a limit to how much player agency I can have ignored before it just gets to be too much.

There are no likeable characters in this story. Usual roster of toxic or enabling friends and the mc has the backbone of a slug.

It would be nice if one of these games one day lets the mc have half a spine and enough intelligence to call their wife out. Hell, even if it went south from there at least one character would be likeable.

Mediocre.

Plot, gameplay, eroticism, literally everything is mediocre.

The story is exciting like filling a tax return, everything very predictable and shallow.

The game doesn't have evident bugs, but it requires a strong will in order to carry on following this game.

The theme is an evergreen but it is amateurishly implemented.

I like this one alot. I have been following many games on this site, both mobile phone games and more visual novel games. This mixes the two genres together in a very nice way. It also does a good job on telling the viewer what MC is thinking. I love the realistic visuals. I dont really like the japanese style games, and not the tradidiontally 3d art either. I think they really hit the nail on this one. If you are like me, and like both good storytelling, visual novels and the concept of mobile games, this one might be a good fit for you.

I have enjoyed this game so far from what I have seen in the game by looking at the first prologue to the updated prologue and now the first real eps the game has some real potential to be something special in this phone game age.

The graphic renders are top notch
The video usage is good
The dialogue is some of the best parts.
Choices - there are many choices so far and every choice affects the game.
There seems to be 3 paths
Real NTR with people trying to steal the fmc from the mc and people trying to steal the mc
Happy marriage with open/sharing/swapping ect of the main couple - with various levels of this according to choices
Happy marriage with a loyal wife

The last path seems to be lacking in substance so far but hopefully will be fully done

as for the mechanics in game the confident or not confident mc are the way to change the paths and the language/ scenes in the game. I do like that we can see both sides of events, wish we could see all
Of them . See the girls at the club ect so we get a full understanding of events
There is a feeling of semi reality in much of the game its not just porn logic but it also is not reality but is closer than most other games.

The team working on this seems to have broken up over creative differences. The story has now become a state secret and the players have no idea about events in the story.
for example - tons of talks about fights no fights occur in game
Wife on a work trip to open was there or was there not an argument about it before - there are hints of it but no one knows
Talk about prior meeting for family therapy but not known by players

too much back story that is unknown to the players that the story is built on that the player has zero clue about.
they need to fix this or it will continue to confuse the player

Nice portraits but real porn with a different body every time, not a fan. Very basic game with constant *thought* interruptions from the MC that are basically just the type of thoughts of simps and there was hardly ever any reasonable thought processes normal folk, who like ntr/nts, could relate to.

All up it was more annoying than a fun time sink.

Good:
1) UI is really good.
2) The FMC AI character is good looking.
That's it...

Bad:
1) Story is nothing new, it's exactly the same as other games, even the name of the game is the same.
2) Progress is crazy slow. It would take at least another year to get any scene other than the husband.

Well...lets see how we can rate this :

1. The usual c&p Story of a Couple in love. The whole Story is spinning around NTR and (probably) Hotwifing/loyal Path.
2. She is the Princess on a pea...her Husband is the usual whiny wimp who lives on an island called please-dont-leave me and Wifey sailed over to the Island of bye-bye where she doesn t care at all (i need my freedom, my (toxic) friends, booze and clubnights and yeah...loooong working hours);
3. The usual BBC is also there. Boring and annoying.
4. The usual bunch of really toxic friends, who are trying to break up their Marriage
5. The whole Relationsship between Hubby and his Wife is completly one sided. She can do whatever she wants, Hubby has to be okay with that and thats it. If he speaks up, she s angry and will put her Hubby in his place and her "friends" support her in fucking other Men. She s doing NOTHING so far for their marriage. She s also NOT being honest with her Hubby (shady Videos at night). Why didn t they talk with eachother about this stuff?? I don t get it.
6. Is NTR avoidable? Yes...it is avoidable but it doesn t "feel" like it is. Wifey is almost every night elsewhere (clubbing, working, gym, friends, sister). Her own "needs" are always her top priority. She never kicked a night with her friends (on the so-called loyal/confident Path), she never skipped working over hours just to be home with her Hubby, she never skipped clubbing with her friends. You have always this feeling, that she s cheating on you.

In conclusion :

A very one dimensional Game without any big suprises. Branched in two paths (anxiety (NTR) and confidence (supposed to be the loyal Path)).There is one difference to other "Phone - Story" Games. This one uses AI realporn Scenes. These Scenes are not really good but also not really bad...judge them for yourself. Regular AI Renders are looking good.

1 Star for Renders and 1 Star for (trying) building a love Path (which i really wanted to like..but...yeah).

What i am missing : I am missing a real connection between Hubby and Wife (on the faithful Path). It should be 100% clear to the Player that the Wife doesn t do anything shady behind her Husbands back. Therefore the Dialogue needs a rework.

This will be my first review.
I haven't tried all possible choices, but from what I've seen it seems very believable for the characters with that set of personality (which exist), and situations.

Overall it's well written, gives a illusion of a choice, it works more seamless as the couple share more intimate moments together and have some valid complaints about expectations and demands, also when they're together, they're together, they don't talk exclusively via cellphone app as in other similar games, which is weird.

This game also doesn't require magic drugs nor magical tech, it creates situations on a more realistic way, that will lead to the tags presented on the game.

Overall, I think this game had a promising start, and with more content could be the best of this specific genre that was created. I believe it worth to take an eye on this game, to see how it develops.

Good story, great use of videos and AI. I like the balance of use of the phone and normal character communication. I would really like to see a little more use of the AI gen'd characters in between cut scenes and use of the phone. Really enjoyed this one so far keep up the good work.

It's pretty good for a start. I was interested in the fact that there were a lot of sound effects in the game. It looks like a lot of effort was put into it. I liked seeing the Devs improve themselves after each "Day" while playing the game. They have a basic story that can be divided into different branches. It has high potential. I'll be waiting for the new update.

As a start, this game has enormous potential, there are other similar games, or similar ones, but all mediocre products, here the Dev has built a solid base, characters that act as we want, in other products instead we had a useless MC, here our character, has balls, at least for now, and it depends on the choices, here are the choices, a plot, with a game like this, the choices are decisive, and the Dev, gives us the opportunity to be the ones to dictate the paths, I have rarely seen a similar plot, I really hope that this potential is just a beginning, thanks Dev.

I don't get where all the positive reviews are coming from. This is just another 'real porn' game and similar to other 'real porn' games it's full of inconsistencies. The dev uses random porn footage to support his story and as a result the female character's hair colour changes every scene, her face is barely visible and clothing just randomly appears and disappears during scenes.

Now, it could still be a nice game if that was the only problem, but the dialogue and text messages are also very poorly written. The MC and his girlfriend talk to each other like no couple ever would. It feels fake, mechanical, and overall just very boring and plain.

Only recommended if you really like phone NTR games and you already finished all the other ones.

Very good first release. i find ''phone'' games very hot especially this one. it has lots of contents. There are important things that distinguish this game from other phone games. Firstly this game features ai images and real videos perfectly. With using ai, Dev have lots of opportunities in this game. Models are very hot. Teasing, pacing are really good for first release.
Maybe more characters can added the game like ''step'' mom and ''step'' sis like other games.

Decided to revisit this one. It's leaning toward getting there...I'd upgrade to 2.5 if I could, but still can't quite give it 3 stars, yet, but it shows signs of getting there...

TLDR: have to stick with it, but there's progress toward positive improvements to the "confident route" story... It sucks less now, to the point of recommending at least giving this one a shot, but need patience, thick skin, and perseverance...

"confident route", small improvements in the story in the second half of this one make it almost, enjoyable... NTR side is still NTR. But, the confident route, while still NTR'ish, it's made some gains. Have to stick with it, suffer through the gaslighting, drama, stay "confident" even though common sense would justify losing your shit on the wife... She seems to finally make progress toward being on the same team with the MC, to understand him, rather than being a gaslighting bitch...
It's a hot mess the first half, but a little past half way ch/episode II to the end, it really started to gain a little traction with just the slightest hint of character development for the MC and wife...on the "confident" route...MC still way too "insecure" given all the "confident" choices, but the wife ain't helping maintain that confidence and trust, either... But, stick with it, there's signs of improvement with the couple's dynamic. Baffles my mind how they still keep their "friend" group, but it's a NTR story, so....gotta keep the scheming snakes around...

A great start I like the phone simulation idea. It's the first time I've played a game like this, and, well, it's really good. The MC is likeable and seems like a good person who loves his wife. There already are some choices to make, so the player won't be railroaded into stuff they don't like (NTR is Avoidable)
I haven't seen any bugs, and the game is quite good from a technical standpoint. I mean, it's a pretty realistic simulation of a phone with messages and apps.
