Haven't played Zombie Life, but to my knowledge, it's the same artist for both games. Apparently that artist works on many games or something because there's a couple more with her art style.

Zombie's Life and Zombie's Retreat are two separate games. Zombie's Retreat is definitely inspired by ZL but it's another developer, though they share graphical artist. While ZR is definitely a better "game" (like, it has better quality and is more fair) i still prefer ZL.
