About download

Hey guys, i want to ask a question.
how do you know what the last version you played on a game? sometimes after i finished the game, i delete it because my memory are not big enough, and when the update of the game drop, i want to know what is the last version i played before download because my internet are not fast enough so i won't download it if the content are small.
i hope you understand what i'm asking because English are not my first language.

What I always did as workaround is this:
1. Download game, unzip, usually a folder called "gamename 0.x" is created.
2. Play the game
3. Delete not the folder of the game but only the content.

This way you're left with an empty folder (takes 0kb space on the hdd) but still have the version name you played last. Optionally, keep your safegames in the folder as well.
