Hey MoirA, any chance that you could make the next game on Renpy instead? I saw that you wrote that it wasn't your preferred way of making games three years ago or so, I just wanted to check because RPGVXAce feels dated and Renpy might be easier to use these days. If not, no worries. I really appreciate all the effort you've put into APC and I'm glad that you're feeling better than you were when you left.
Renpy is possible. It might work for one of the future style of games I have planned. When I use RPGMaker in the future, I'll be using a newer version. The reason I'm stuck with VXAce for this game is because when I made APC, I did not think ANYONE would play it. And by the time it got popular, I didn't feel like remaking the game from scratch. So I just kept building on the game in the engine I had started.
I've also been exploring a few other options for the new style of game I want to work on. I'll let you all know more in the future when I have more to show. Either way, we'll definitely never see a VXAce release from me ever again.
so since the mothers charm doesn't work anymore does that mean that we now have a limit on births?
The Mother's Charm has basically never worked. It had a really, really minor thing that it used to do in like the very first few releases of the game, and I realized it was way too complicated to make it work, especially as the cast of characters was expanding, and the number of events was increasing. For that reason, I basically never implemented it into another event ever again.
Infinite pregnancy/birth mechanics are the way the game has always worked, and will continue to work. I'm just going to change the Mother's Charm into something either useful or funny, instead of having it say it does something that it doesn't really do.
