Access to files

First, I admit I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Nonetheless, on several game downloads I have noted that the apk game asks foe access to my files what-not. I have been very reticent to do so. However, when researching a game on this site, the recommendation was to allow this.
Should allow access indiscriminately or not?

Do you trust the creator of the game or not ?

If the game ask for this access, it's probably that it need it. But it you answered "no" to my question, then just forget about the game.
