VN - Ren'Py - Adored by the Devil [v0.11] [Empiric]

The story is really good, I just wished there was a little bit of a forward to it to get some kind of explanation of what's going on before dropping you in the story. It does explain a little as it goes on so it's not too bad. The renders are really good and the girls are just the kind I like. The dialog is good also and some of things they say are pretty funny. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the story.

An interesting game that sort of just.... meanders through things.

Visually it's lovely, the characters are *ahem* well endowed in the most part, almost comcially so but beyond that they're visually appealing. The problem is the story seems to be an after though.

The overview is MC is sent to protect a family of three women from possible danger. To do so he moves in with them and you can probably guess the rest.

The almost flippant nature of how the overview is written is actually quite par for the course for the game cause at times it kinda feels like it's all an afterthought. Things like demons and demon hunting and vampires are all mentioned but almost in an offhand way. Like it's there but who cares about that, look at dem tiddies. Like the whole premise of the game is you're meant to be the body guard for the family but half the time you're off with one member of other. I mean hell, there's a whole bit where two of the family fly off somewhere leaving you home alone with the third. So obviously designed to promote some sexy time but it makes a joke of the whole premise of the game. Who are you meant to be protecting? It'd be better if the Dev just admitted he wanted naughty scenes and left it at that.

I might be harsh but as a game it's so damn jarring. Protect a family of three" well you're obviously not so why have that as a premise?

Beyond the wonky story the usual tropes are there, MC has magic dick powers that everyone wants him, he's apparently a bad ass but as the plot is an afterthought you only really see it in one scene briefly so really he might as well just be another college dude bro out to sow his wild seed.

If the game could be summarized in one word it would be SEXY. There's always something to engage the eye and the models are absolutely gorgeous. Sometimes it can lean a little too much into the fanservice territory but overall I think there's a good balance between the sexy stuff, story and character interaction.

One thing that made me interested in the game was the fact that it has an assertive and chilled out MC. He's not wimpy or dull which has become a troubling standard in adult games, or the MC is just an asshole. In this game, he's quite fun to insert as.

Ive literally just started this game but I love Lilliths introduction. not only is she incredibly hot she is hilarious and my favorite type of women in these sorts of games. If the rest of the girls are as well introduce i think this will be a great game.

Review of v0.5

I'm always apprehensive of fantasy and magical-realism AVNs. The unbounded freedom the subgenres offer to authors often results in ill-conceived bullshit full of plot holes and silly ideas taken seriously. So far Adored by the Devil has mostly avoided bullshit (though there are some plot holes) by grounding the story in a likeable enough mc (though I'm not a huge fan of his face) and hot girls with cute quirks.

Empiric's last game was enjoyable but its characters had just about managed to escape from the line to the plane, and were certainly not ready to add the z-axis. This time around the characters already feel more full of life and differentiated from one another, both visually and in personality. It remains to be seen how far Empiric takes that; a purely text-based exposition dump of a sad backstory is not sufficient.

The game is still quite short so this review can't be comprehensive, but here a few miscellaneous points:

• The visuals are great, a massive step up from the last game, and really bring the characters to life.
• The sex scenes are okay; maybe they're missing some extra dialogue, or some better angles, but whatever it is, they're missing the XXX-factor.
• Lilith, assumedly the "Devil" in the title, is clearly best girl but she's been short-changed by making the mc solely think of her as a friend, while she wants more. The problem with Tsundere setups in AVNs is that if you like the girl (and you're supposed to) you want to skip the countless frustrating episodes of nothing happening and get to the bit where the guy starts realising what he's been missing out on. #JustkissforLilith
• The music is hilariously inappropriate. There was a jovial little classical (baroque?) number playing during a detective scene in the morgue; at that point I had to switch it off.
• Cutting between scenes by matching butts and boobs is both inspired and very funny. I'm not sure if that's the intended effect tho.
• Please please pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee add a harem route all the girls are so cute I don't wanna choose

Good Points
+ The story and supernatural elements of the game seem quite interesting.
+ Women models & render quality is good and along with interior or outdoor place designs.
+ Most of the girls have their own unique characters and it always feels good while reading VN's. Lilith is quite cute (It was lovely when she turned around and closed her eyes while Nina said she could go all the way with MC) and her relationship dynamics with MC is quite cute as well.
+ MC has a cool character and is enjoyable to play.

Bad Points
- Despite having supernatural story elements the game did not use them well enough, the focus seems more on dialogues with the girls, and that's kind of boring and a waste of potential.
- Sex scene animations seem a bit weird, it's almost feels like they are not even having sex and kind of dry-humping. And even when the scene itself says they are having hard and fast sex, we still do not see something hard or fast. And what's up with those body and head movements? They look quite robotic. Basically sex scene animations, especially physics need some improvements.
- Most of women in the game look good, but they can use some changes. Biggest problem is Lilith's face, even tho in some rare scenes she looks cute, mostly she looks ugly, she was looking better with mask on, and her face reveal should have been better, she should have had better face design unlike current ugly one, doubt DEV will change it, but she seriously needs her face change for sure. And secondly the DEV has some problems with tits, he likes to make them look saggy and I guess thinks it's realistic? Well this is a game where fantasies should be real, no one wants bad looking realism here, so tits needs to be less saggy for sure.
- Despite MC having a cool character I can't say the same for his hairstyle, he had some hair that would be good, maybe DEV should consider making him grow hair or something.
- Fight scenes can use some QTE options to hit enemies and more pictures.
- Your choices kind of don't matter aside from choosing which girl you gonna have sex with, so there is no actual story (main story) choices you make.
- With latest update we got face reveal of Lilith, obviously I was waiting something unique, cool or exceptionally beautiful, but our current design is non of these, it's quite common face and even little bit unattractive. And along with that MC got horns, and his horn design is pretty bad as well, it looks like cheap cosplay prop glued on his head, it's not realistic nor cool nor unique.
- Nora casually dropping infos like bomb and revealing Emily to MC and all of her family including her is demon, etc, was quite annoying, and Grandpa killed by Marcus in 0.10, so things are not going good...

For The End
Well I can't say this is an amazing game, but it's not bad either, if I would say something I would say 3.5 stars a quality game for this, I feel like this game can be a 4-5 stars game, but it needs some fixes, focusing on supernatural aspects a little bit more and improving animations should be biggest priority, along with changing Lilith's ugly face, others are mostly small stuff can be ignored as long main things are good enough.

You're just a spectator, you have no influence on the game and can't make any decisions.
The only thing you can choose is "whether to fuck a certain girl or not", but that has no effect on the plot.

However, there are many sex scenes with female characters, and the rendering is excellent.
As far as erotic games are concerned, it still beats many games that clearly have no erotic content but have high ratings.

If some erotic games without any erotic content can get 5 stars, then why not this game?

Zuri, Katherine, Vivainne, Nina some of my favorites. I would say that I personally really enjoy the variety of bodies that empiric has done in this one from Katherine's realistic massive chest to Zuri's full figure, to Nina's toned muscles.

The writing is definitely a step up from Through Spacetime their previous title. There is an interesting story and I actually found myself reading all the text. This one also takes itself more serious which is a really nice feature. I have to say this is a very impressive VN.

It gets stale pretty quick. Demon hunting guild setting and bodyguard plot seemed to work at first but got boring unfortunately. Girls seem to live for boning MC for whatever reason (oh yeah cuz he is the only relevant male in this universe). It tries to be an AVN with story but flat characters and banal dialogues don't hold up to the premise. Yes visuals are good but it is 2023, not going to give 5 stars just for renders.

A Magnificient VN! The story plot is well written. The Characters are very cute and the new characters which are introduced every one of them is just perfect. Hope the VN will keep getting better and better. Keep up the good work dev .

I agree with most of the reviews here (except that one cringe-beast virtue signaling like he bout to bag all the purple-haired baddies from the sociology dept ), Adored by the Devil is an absolute gem.

All the characters are fun, cute and beautiful, even grandpa . The many personalities differ vastly from one another. They have their own manner of speaking and behaving. They come from different places, different norms and different walks of life. They even have their own flaws and shortcomings, something that is easy to undermine because they also have unique quirks and virtues that make them all so lovable. Yet despite these many differences, the characters all share the same goal: to give our MC the gawk-gawk 9000, even grandpa (jk).

The MC is real chill. Not a pussy, nor a dick. One character has stupid big boobas because she is the goddess mommy queen. I hope Empiric continues making the game, despite its evil and "problematic" contribution that has forced 80% of all pornstars into getting boobjobs. You know the profession that relies on naked bodies being filmed in 8k 144fps, naked bodies that fall apart as it ages naturally.

I like the theme and artwork of the game so far. the only thing i can say i personally dislike is the huge saggy chest on katherine. it's just not attractive at all. good character models and story otherwise.

The writing is unremarkable. It's too early to tell if the story is any good, but I'm leaning towards "no". The girls are all basically one-dimensional, only existing as their sexualities, which is boring and more than a little concerning. The writing is, overall, poor to mediocre.
The big issue, no pun intended, is the creator's views on breast size. I like big breasts, but within reason. This game's creator is unreasonable. He (I'm like 99.9999% sure it's a man) seems to think that back-breaking breasts are normal. It doesn't come across THAT well in the screenshots (or I never would have started this game,) but most of the women have breasts that are preposterously, even satirically, large. It's weird, unattractive, and unhealthy. It would be one thing if this had a "stupidly large breast fetish" tag, but it doesn't. Instead, it portrays these ridiculous things as normal. At one point, Miu, who has like a C or D cup size, describes her boobs as "small", along with Lilith's, who's gotta be at least a C cup. I'm not great at estimating cup sizes, but that's not the point. This game subscribes to and perpetuates an extremely unhealthy view of what normal breast sizes are.
That, combined with the lack of personality beyond sexuality for the girls, makes me think that this was created by someone with an extremely unhealthy view of women.
Alright horny unintelligent 18 year olds, you can call me names, but the fact is this stuff does matter. Why do you think that like 80% of female pornstars end up getting boobjobs? Shit like this. This game should be avoided, as should its creator.

A rarity among games. Noice.

All in all the fact that I wrote a review speaks for itself, this is one of the few gems on this platform.

I recently tested the game and it has me waiting for the next update.
It may not be the perfect game but it's not mediocre or bad as others say.
It has a lot of potential and it is a novel that I like to be direct without having to go around the matter so much.
I like that balance between the sensual and the funny.
And I understand the criticism of women with big boobs, but they also have the option to skip some girls and that's a positive point that it has.

Even so, you can leave Katherine alone for me, who is my favorite girl, a redheaded milf with big tits, I'm inside, you can stay if you want with the tender Lilith.
I'll keep a close eye on the progress and maybe a future scene with Katherine

Enjoyed Through Spacetime (made by the same creator for those unawar). Finished playing through the current update of this one, and so far, its looking similar to that but with some improvements. Looking forward to future updates.

A really cool story, the premise of 'monsters living among us' may be used and generic by some standards, but the characters and modern setting make this one much more appealing. There's not much to the game yet, but by all accounts it seems promising.

The models are, obviously, very good. The MC is pretty decent as far as male characters go, and the girls are all gorgeous and unique. I DO think there's a bit too much boob-age going on, and I appreciate the option to NOT pursue certain girls such as the mother and Sis. Nina and Lilith were quickly cemented as my favorite girls, and I look forward to the cute antics between the three characters. Unfortunately the "animations" which I use very loosely are pretty low-tier, and honestly I think I prefer just still frames over the jerky scenes.

In-all, while again there's only about an hour or two content, it's definitely one to look forward to.

This game has potential, it looks like it's going to be a tried and true harem game just like its' predecessor, but I find the story and plot enjoyable, so I am going to give this game five stars because it nails what is aiming for!

Review for v.04

I'm kinda pissed that I'm giving this a lower rating, because the game actually has potential and elements that are working for it.

Daz games with really great renders are not uncommon these days, but even this is one of the better I've played. The character models are a bit too doll like for my tastes, but there's no denying they still look great. Animations match up to that quality well enough too.

Problem is, that isn't enough for me. The writing is what usually gets me into AVNs and this one is falling flat.

To put it simply this game blows at creating any sort of tension or build up. Events just kind of... happen? In a weirdly mundane type of way.

Honestly the game is boring. Which is weird because the premise is actually the opposite. You're a seemingly strong demon hunter who got sent by your seemingly more powerful grandpa to protect some people. I would think that would lead way to some action packed encounters with demons and intriguing plots about hunting different monsters and such, but no. Not really.

We do a sort of side mission to help a cop solve a mysterious string of murders. Sounds cool at first, until you play through the entire part in 10 minutes because the game blows through it instantly. You instantly know it was a demon, instantly find said demon, and instantly defeat said demon. Move on to randomly fucking the cop we just met and know absolutely nothing about.

Sound design: also extremally lacking. It is very awkward to watch silent fist fights. Game needs some sound effects. It also needs better music because what it currently has is not doing it any favors.

The characters themselves aren't much better. Now admittedly I think the mute demon is super cute and some of the other demon hunters are actually a bit interesting. The rest of the characters are very forgettable. The family you're sent to protect all fall for the MC instantly and have very few scenes expressing any type of personality outside of some basic tropes. The game doesn't take time to build them up. You see a couple quick flirting moments before you and the mom are discussing becoming fuck buddies. Just doesn't do anything for me.

If you care less about writing and story then yeah you'll probably enjoy this more. It certainly looks good enough and the writing isn't necessarily awful. But towards end of content I found myself holding the skip button because I was losing interest. As of this version, I'd only return to play this as filler when I got nothing better.
