Admittedly I know nothing about the history of this game, but being an idea in the making for over a decade doesn't give me high hopes about the future.
But from what I've seen, it's basically a jankier Koooon Soft clone with zombies. I found the controls to be more stiff and a lot slower compared to KoonSofts which made the game a lot more frustrating than I anticipated. The issue is that I'm at least familiar with this game style so I still found it manageable in the end, but others would likely find this both unenjoyable and potentially unplayable.
The animations and art are the highlights of this game, and even then it's not perfect. Currently there's only 1 playable character, but the game promises 7 in the future, though whether these characters will have unique animations is unknown. That said, an issue I noticed is that every enemy has 2 animations, and one always has a threesome available. I guess in order to streamline development they reuse the same animation for the 2nd enemy, except the 2nd enemy doesn't always line up. While this is a nitpick, when the few good things going for this game is the animation and I'm still seeing flaws, then I'm going to nitpick as much as I want.
I'd give this a 2.5 if I could, but I rounded it to a 3. Admittedly, 3 stars (Even 2.5) is a bit high for the issues this game has, but because I managed to finish this in about 30-40 minutes, it's still tolerable. That said, the dev needs to rework the controls or something because I can see how someone who has never played this type of game can easily get frustrated.
