Adult Gaming on Steam - Do you buy games there?

Hey everyone!

I have been wondering lately just how many people actually buy adult games on steam. Like, do you have any price points that you stick to, or any certain kinds of games that you'd buy on there? Or do you not buy anything adult on steam at all and just stick to pirating?

Personally at the moment I'm not doing it but it's based on my personal likings not being displayed. I have been waiting dungeon town 4ever.

If you talk about mangagamer I bought rance VI + 5D which is my type of game. Overall I'm into good RPG or strategy games.

I've got a few games on Steam, Depraved Awakening is the latest.

I've got a few on my wishlist too, but I usually only buy games if they are on sale or not expensive.

No. Most adult steam games feel like bare bone cash grabs.

I pirated one of the popular ones to see what i was a while ago and it was meh. Artwork was fine, but story was super basic, it was super short (like 30 mins with reading every screne, prob around 5 if you didnt), and the adult scenes where 1 pic a piece. No clue who payed 20 bucks for that...

No i rather not have my fetish's shown in steam.
I keep my porn hidden from the world.
It just is a part of my life that doesnt need to be public.
Beside i woudnt pay for porn anyway.
Same for music, or books.
Honestly if it wasnt for the fact my pc got a computer craching virus everytime i torrented a game i would still be pirating.
I am poor and even if i wasnt.
Too many things cost money anyway.
Every single corperation tries to milk every cent from you.
Increase in taxes, Games being cut up and sold as dlc, Price going up while paycheck remains unchanged.
Only reason i can even affort games is because i save on dinner bills by eating with my mother.
So yes i am a parasite just to afford my hobby.
I wish i didnt need to eat, sleep, drink or get horny.
Why do we humans have suchs limeted bodies?

What happend to the times we accauly got our money worth?
Because i think that time has long since passed.

Yes and No

I bought Lucy - The Eternity She Wished For on Steam - then later bought it again on the Dev's own site also.
Karmasutra - I bought directly from Top Hat Studios - and some other games from them as well.
- Is another developer I bought from - on their website.
- Is another option - I have an account with them also.
I prefer to cut Steam out of the equation - whenever possible - and buy the games that I really enjoy directly as possible.
(Even after - "I tried them elsewhere")
Mangagamer , JAST, etc. - are the types of sites I personally prefer.

"Like, do you have any price points that you stick to ..."
That's a bit more complicated V.A. Laurie - - is a very well made game, with many hours of game play.
- Man of the House [v1.0.2c Extra] [Faerin] - Is on Steam - for the $20..00 range - and I feel that is more than fair.
Same range you should aim for ? Imho ;)
Also as mentioned above - check out as well.

Best wishes and Cheers.

I actually bought some games of the genre in question there, Acting Lessons being one of them. Not sure what made Steam come around with the adult aspect, though. They had a knack for declining and even removing games based on the theme. Not sure about the policies for developers either, must require some balancing to be able to maintain games in both Patreon and Steam. Sure would love to hear DPC's take on the matter. Acting Lessons IMHO is pretty well priced there, being in the $10 range.

There is also a game called House Party. It was done with Unity, and is in the $25 range. Sure, it is 3D and last I heard it had sold over half a million copies in Steam. Fun game, but somewhat mainstream for my taste.

So far none of the games I'd be interested in paying for have been offered on Steam but I would have no problem buying them if they did as long as I considered the price reasonable. I'm not paying AAA prices for an adult game unless it's actually in that same league as far as production quality (and none of them are). But yeah I'd pay up to $20 or so for an adult game that I thought was good.

Most of the adult stuff I've seen on Steam is Japanese style hentai that I'm just not into.

I can only think of a couple of devs who have made games I like that have anything on Steam and so far none of the ones I'd consider buying. In my case Lession of Passion has stuff on there that I'm not interested in but so far hasn't put their only title I'm interested in (Living With Temptation) on there for sale. Dr PinkCake is the only other dev I know of who has content I like that has stuff for sale on there so I will probably end up buying Being a DIK on there eventually. I think he has said he plans to release it there when it's finished.

Yep. I generally prefer buying a product as opposed to monthly payments. IF I find someone I want to support, I usually either buy it on Steam or support them on Patreon for a couple of months ( up to a fair price for the game ) then stop and get the games from here.
On Steam I have General Practitioner, LOP, Depraved Awakening, and House Party.

Yes. I've already bought games I discovered here on steam. For me, it's much easier to keep track of games when it's tied to my steam account. Some notable games I have are Acting Lessons, Gray, House Party, BoneCraft, Depraved Awakening, and Twists of My Life. I'll definitely get Being a DIK when that releases (loved what I played so far), but in most cases I don't like paying full price and just wait for the first discount.

Most of the adult games are junk but once in awhile I'll spot something that's halfway decent. I'm always searching obsessively for adult games to hit steam.

I’d consider it if the quality of stuff on there was higher. I think Subverse might be the first game I buy there. Really, if you are putting an adult game on steam it should have animation and decent length, or be really high quality if it is a VN.

No.
If I decide to would buy an adult game on steam i would probably make an alt account (because of obvious reasons). But i like where the trend is going, i hope to see more adult games on steam, and possibly other platforms in the future.

I have. I don't mind supporting developers on that platform.

My friends on steam can't say all too much, as many have pre-ordered Subverse.

Steam went on a de-listing spree not too far back, until sometime in 2021. I had some of those games on my account. I can still play them just their store pages are completely removed or put in a hidden state where some don't even show in your public games list (but do show in your library). Dark Elf, Goblin Walker, Prison Fight and some others from what I can tell are in that state.

I don't know the real reason, my guess is guro/violence and shota. Rape is still kosher like in Overgrown Genesis.

I have a separate account for Hentai games, but I stopped buying them for about 2 years now. I just bought some because I wanted a forum account to talk some shit with in case people want to fight/troll and I want to protect my normie multiplayer account. People often try and shame others about the games they play, but if you're profile is pure degenerate and the opening message is urging them to cry about it then it's reverse psychology and they don't mention it. Believe me it works. Before the purge people could see hentai games with ecchi/suggestive icons in your profile/games-list even if they didn't have adult content enabled. Now they censor the icons on your profile page and you have to have an account to view people's games list at all, on top of that have adult content enabled to see the adult games listed.

If you want to buy adult games on steam my advice is ONLY buy them on sale and make sure it's not censored, and if it is read the discussion section to find a patch and explore any pitfalls (shit version with less animations or something).

Go to type in the hentai game and you'll see a price history, you'll get a good idea about it's historic low and you can get notifications once it passes a certain threshold (same idea as Amazon price-check sites). Site is awful with clutter/messy visuals with too much information thrown at you, but it works.
