After 20+ years I think I found my first porn game.

Took me ages to find this because all I could remember was "Newgrounds dating sim that had a weird G word in the title." Apparently it was and holy shit is it like taking a time machine back to 2002. At the time it felt like this game had it all. Stats to grind, gifts to buy, dialogue, fatigue, everything. Looking at it now really explains a lot about my tolerance for grindy video games.

I am curious how much people think this game compares to modern porn games. Does it hold up or is it like trying to play E. T. on the Atari 2600?

you have a strong memory, I don't even remember what I ate this morning. the game looks good for the year it was released. it's impossible for me to remember the first game I played, but I remember playing flash games like this when I was a kid.

My memory for most things is actually pretty shit. But when it comes to tv/movie quotes and video games I am like a savant. It is unfortunate I never learned how to use this superpower effectively. I quote the 01189998819991197253 joke from IT Crowd from memory but I can't remember mathematical equations to save my life.

Well shit, I didn't realize it had been uploaded here. There was a comment on Newgrounds that the game there was more or less a demo. I wonder if this is the full version or the "completed" demo version. Anyone know?

For a 2002 game, it looks mighty impressive. But then again, a lot of 2002 games still looks hella good today, so no suprises there.

This is why artstyle is more important than graphics, at the end of the day. Games that solely relies on good graphics tends to look like crap after a few years go by.

... I will always prefer hand-drawn art to 3D art ...
... However, aged 3D games have that unique charm that modern games do not ...

That is true... But i think it's because they also do have a semblance of art direction going on, even if minimal. Old 3D games, especially those from the 90's, usually have very vibrant colors and stylistic choices to help offset the limited graphics of that time. Pick up any racing game from those years and you'll instantly noticed how vibrant everything looks. Games like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, SSX, Unreal Tournament, Crash Bandicoot (the PS1 versions), Final Fantasy 7, etc... all these games were oozing charm and style. On the other hand, i hate how a lot of games from the PS3-X360 era looks because a lot ofthem aged like milk... I absolutely hate the piss-yellow filter and the washed out gray, brown and drab colors games form that era look (i actually hated it even back then)

... I was talking about older ...
... I really love how Planescape torment looks like for example ...
... How Rance I and older Rances look like ...
... How Loop Hero tries to recreate that art ...

I see, but those games are even better examples of what i was saying... Planescape Torment oozes artstyle in every nook, bit and cranny of the game (the old gothic look that i never get tired of). Rance is "anime", and i don't think anime-style will ever look bad and drab tbh (Wolf's Rain was the closest to a drab anime artstyle i ever encountered, but it still looked stylish in it's own right). Worst it can be is formulaic, where every anime more or less looks the same (modern anime particularly suffers from this, ever since they moved to digital).

no idea what was my first porn game.

I do remember one of them was ToHeart2, and I was soooo pissed when I found out the hard way that "harem" it wasn't - you had to spend all attention on ONE girl, or you would run into early bad-end (well, "early" my ass, I spent so much time already.)
Tried again, went for the blue-haired showe-da girl (maybe because reminded of Tomo / Azumanga Daioh?), but again "early bad end" - likely that girl is only available on NG+ or whatever.
bah, fuck it, never again.

another early one was some (kinetic?) novel with some succubus, and it was NTR, left me totally disgusted, like WTF? It'was probably just a really bad one.

There must have been others, but do not really remember.

here is some very nice 3d art from back in 2010:

edit: argh!, screw this "video not available" (embeddable), dammit.

That's a classic,
I remember my dad would drop me and my brother off at a cybercafe when internet access wasn't as common as it now
One time I saw him playing a game with sex animations, and then he showed me how to access it,
The first was Ganguro Girl and the second was Love Hina Sim Dating, although I'm not sure if Love Hina had any sex in it tho.
