RPGM - Completed - After I met that catgirl, my questlist got too long! [Hotfix 11 + DLC] [Rascal Devworks]

It could be something great if it were a visual novel.
Tighten up the graphics and music, add more CG, make a full voiceover - and it would be a masterpiece western yuri.

But alas, this is an RPGM with turn-based battles. Even if they are above average, I still can't digest them, alas. After high-budget western tactical RPGs, this fights with "this skill does an unknown amount of damage" are somewhat infuriating. Of course, if rpgm battles are not a problem for you, you can safely add an additional star to the review.

I took off the second star for the fact that there are 5 routes... If in a normal VN you can just skip text you have already read, here you will have to re-complete quests / battles.

What an wonderful game that was... It took me back when i had my first real contact with anime, which (despite the obvious discounted hentai, also knows as ecchi) was Zero no Tsukaima... Man, Louise was such a tsundere, in almost the same level as Tea, but when they show love/affection, they MEAN it. Not discounting the protag and the other girls, they were obviously fabulous (If Tea didnt exist, Reniel would totally be my choice, because she was such spectacular, wonderful and cheerish girl), but Tae took the highlight just because of my nostalgia.

The mechanics in the game were pretty good for a " hentai " game, the combat was fluid and the OST was cool, not great, just cool and fitting tbh. But what takes the strawberry of the cake was the romance, hot damn, the romance was phenomenal, there wasnt a option to get a fucking harem, which is pretty neat, you get to feel the connection between the characters, which in case there was an harem, we would most likely just get a character flustered or something like that (God i wish there were more works like this one).

I think this take the spotlight as my favorite " hentai " game ever, not because of the sex/obscene scenes (There werent many to be fair lmao), but because i felt connected to the characters and the most important, i felt a nostalgia that i dont encounter these days in the animes/games i watch/play.

the game is fine, but the huge lack of clear information during quests really pulls it down. you desperately need to hope that someone can help you in the forums as to what you want to do and you can waste days IRL and not get anywhere in the game.

Right off the bat, while this game has porn, it is not a porn game, so if that is all you are interested in this game is not for you. If you are a fan of romance, however, then I highly reccomend this game, as the romance is my favorite aspect and such a breath of fresh air.

I lingered between giving this a 4 or 5 star review, as by this site's game standards it's an easy 10/10 in gameplay and story, but a 4/10 in terms of porn. As I said, though this isn't a porn game so I'm going by more normal standards. By said normal standards, I'd say this game is a closer to a 4.5/5, but I decided to go with five stars due to it ticking a lot of my personal favorite boxes.

The combat's solid and one of the better I've played from turn based RPGs. It doesn't break the mold or anything, but it understands a lot of the positives of turn based RPGs and uses them without too many of the negatives. You have to strategize a bit for bosses and harder enemies, but it's nothing ludicrous nor is the combat insanely slow. It's good.

The story is overall pretty good, with one or two frustrating moments, but they're nowhere near enough to ruin the game. It has some neat ideas and twists, and handles them competently. It doesn't exactly break the mold, but it doesn't have to. What I like most about the story is actually the romance and development that this leads to, which leads me to my next point...

Romance! The romance in this game is prety easily the highlight for me. In a lot of romances, you either go extremely quickly to the point there's no buildup, or so slow and teasingly that you lose any investment you had in the characters. This game doesn't do that though! The romance is actually well paced, with you actually dating the girl you want 25-30% of the way though. I know it may not seem like much, but actually getting to date and have the game acknowledge that you're dating a certain girl throughout most of the game was such a breath of fresh air! No "will they won't they" for the entire game only to end right when the couple gets together, nor any immediate falling in love and instantly banging, It's actual romance!

The length is pretty darn good, with a lot of content and quests that actually made me chuckle a couple times, so that's a plus. Characters are also well done and likeable, to the point I was genuinely invested in the shennangins of even the side characters. The main characters count in this as well and are well done.

Overall, most of this game is just solid. Rather that be gameplay, story, characters, length, romance, ect. they are all well done with little to complain about. The only issue is that most of these are just well done and not great, but them all being together in the same game kinda makes it better than the sum of it's parts, for me at least, and I think it deserves a 5/5.

So why 2 stars you ask, because its not an eroge ,the gameplay took me by storm because its be a while since i played something that actually had an interesting tbc in it but oh god thats all to it ,there is nsfw in it but not many, the best example of similar game i can give is farcry 3 or rockstar games and few more ,it has gameplay and there is a nudity in it at some point but no that many ,long story short great game but not an eroge

Pretty reasonable quality yuri only rpg. Quite light on the nsfw content considering its length of 10+hrs for me with only 3 nsfw scenes total. Much better writing than their previous outing "Snowed In" which I read. Looking forward to more yuri works
