Whose bright idea was it to block the top of the page where useful button and alerts are with this dumb fuck red banner ad about some slop AI sexting site.

Just click the 'X' to the right and it will remove the add. The site will no doubt need ad revenue to help keep it running as no one on here is forced to pay to use the place. It's easily removable.

You could just hit the X, use the search and find out why it is there and for how long....

yes. press the X. every. time. I. load. a. page. it's annoying, and I'm astounded that everyone's just ok with this.

I do not blame the site for having ad revenue. But I'm pretty sure there's less obtrusive ways to go about this.

Uh to be honest it's kind of less obtrusive than other sites who have full size ads on the side too that follows you while scrolling. God damn those are annoying.

at least those don't cover up links/buttons. That's my main gripe. that every page I load, it's covering the top bar with Latest Updates, forums and where my alerts and messages are. It's practically betting on me clicking the ad on accident more than anything

It is tailored to not do that with the default forum layout. You can switch it in your preferences or just use this link (to and fro): UI.X Dark [Old and unsupported]

or just use an adblocker - I had to manually block the empty red bar that remained after the ad content was blocked by default.

I'm using uBlock Origin. No ads whatsoever except for the tiny red bar on top of the website which is hardly noticable anyway. Not using an ad-blocker in this day and age is almost a crime. lol

From your reply it seems you didn't search to find out why it's there. There is a good reason why it's there, you really should do yourself a favor and search....

It's also not that bad, if you don't want to hit X on all pages just scroll your mouse down abit....

and it's gone...

The only links they appear to cover up are other websites. If you really need to keep clicking on the same websites every time you load a page on here, just add them to your favourites. Your moaning makes zero sense.

This ad is cancer. Ad blocker works fine on desktop to keep this out of the way. All I see is a thin red bar that doesn't block anything. But on mobile, even with ad blocker, the red bar does block the buttons at the top like pulling up the side bar or using search.

as said, on desktop I needed to manually block the (already empty) red bar to make it disappear. Default ublock settings/ list only blocked the ad content inside/on that red bar.
no idea if mobile adblockers offer the same possibility.

and for the newest annoyance this one seems to work :
