AI dilemma

I've been wanting to create a NSFW game for a while now. I started studying programming and drawing while developing the plot. It turns out that programming and writing are quite easy, while drawing seems impossible for me.
In the last month, I've started focusing even more on drawing, which has given me tendonitis and zero progress in my skills. I know that the artists I'm inspired by and who are successful have decades of training, and I was aware of this when I started, but I never imagined my progress would be so slow.
It turns out that, while I was browsing Pinterest for ideas, I noticed that one of the "artists" I liked was an AI artist. I did some research and started using AI to create some art, and I think I'm getting the hang of it.
But it feels really wrong to me. Artists always complain about how AI is offensive to them, and I sympathize with that, and it also seems like cheating. At the same time, I could use AI to create the things I so desperately want to create.
I wanted to know your opinion on the matter.

I'd say you have two options:

1. Use AI art
2. Practice hard for the next few decades in the hope of becoming a very substandard artist

With the way AI is coming on, you probably wasted your time learning to code, too, as it will soon be able to do that for you. Ah, well, all part of growing up! :)

Do whatever you want, but be prepared to receive a lot of negative feedback because you are using AI.

Some people are against all AI art.
Some are fine with it as long as you aren't making money from it.
Most are indifferent because, to them, it's just another form of lewd stuff.
And some like it.

As always you will hear most from haters.

Not to sound harsh but, you don't owe these artists anything. AI taking artists' jobs is the artists' problem.

If you can use AI as a tool to help turn your dreams into reality, I think that's a healthy and fair use of the tech, as long as you're being transparent about it.

Well you're saying programming and writing are easy for yourself so imo you should stick to doing that and find an artist to collaborate with. I think this, uh how to say, individualist approach is what's holding a lot of ppl back i think. There are some people who manage to do all the parts by themselves, but I don't think that's something to be followed tbh. Like why can't you find a guy to work with? I know, I know, can't trust anyone these days... Anyways you said yourself it's possible to make decent art with ai, and theres games like that who make decent money here, so don't let morals hold you back breh

I'd recommend you do something you genuinely enjoy and have fun with in your free time.
You'll be dedicating a lot of time to it, and if it's something you're not into, you'll probably just get frustrated and burn out.
So that's my advice, whether you go with AI, 3D, or something else.
Regardless of the method you choose, you're going to face criticism. But if you love what you're doing, that criticism can actually help you improve in your niche.
I know from what I've seen around this forum that AI-generated images get a lot of hate. But, like I said, if you enjoy making it, then it's worth doing.

Like what most others have said, make what you want to make. Use any and / or all tools you can to help you reach your goal and enjoy doing it.

Even if you did everything perfectly, you would still find people giving your project hate over including or not including a kink or because you are too slow on progress of their favorite character etc. etc. No matter what you do you won't please all people all the time but you can take steps to make sure you are happy and enjoy making your ideas come to life.
