VN - Ren'Py - Aihvala [v0.5] [MaterTuaGames]

I almost started with "We've seen it all before" but then I understood it isn't so.
But, seriously, when someone with no idea about medieval times trying to make adult AVN with usual tropes it comes pretty close like that.
What good this game has?
- right at the start you can choose if pubes are in place or absent. Choice itself is good but the existence of that choice shows us it's all about porn. If you make something medieval/fantasy, do it. Or do something else. We have some bad examples, thank you, don't make another one.
- no age comes in the text (which is totally normal for that time) but people do look their age. That's certainly a good thing. Devs rarely make characters look their age so it's like a main attraction.
- any romance/sex is by player's choice, no forced LI. It's certainly good.
For a game concept (it's not even a demo) there's nothing more can be said but other side. I mean, what bad this future game has.
- Make a game concept, call it as 0.5 and name it as a game in development - is this really a good idea? Right now it's more like 0.00001 version of the game. We, players, do not like that.
- Closely connected to previous, no story or world building, just a bunch of default tropes knit together as something fantasy/medieval.
- Again, default tropes. MC is lusting for his mother and sister, MC friendzones girl that is totally into him. A good thing that it's all by choice, you can skip all incest if you want or lust romance anyone you want. There's young, there's old - all is your choice.
- medieval/fantasy only in renders. Characters speak as in modern day USA, wear underwear, behave just like in today's world. Again, if you make something medieval/fantasy, then do it till the end. If you are just making another modern day game in medieval decorations, then please don't. We already had such games, do not follow bad example.

Just finished the current update and I quite enjoyed it! It is pretty short so keep that in mind, but what little we have is pretty enjoyable. The story is pretty simple and easy to understand, the characters have distinguishable personalities that fit them well, the english isn't the best but you can understand whats going on and it's definitely better than other games where the auther isn't a native english speaker and the animations are decent but the lewd scenes are pretty short. As for the girls/women in the game, this and the choices are where the game shines the most in my opinion. There are all kinds of girls for you to pursue from lolis all the way to gilfs and every girl/fetish is optional which is really nice, so don't be put off if there is a tag that you don't like as you can avoid it. There are also quite alot of choices and different outcomes which was a nice surprise as I went back after finishing the current update to pick options I didn't before which I don't often do unless the game has a well made choice/consequence system which is sadly a little rare. The route I went was incest (mother and little sister) with a little bit of netori and I really liked the interactions with the little sister (loli) as I thought it was really cute and definitely my favourite part of the game so far which I guess is no surprise since incest and loli are two of my favourite tags, but I was surprised how much I enjoyed the netori options as I usually enjoy netorase alot more than any of the other subgenres of NTR, although I have been enjoying netorare a little more recently too. (there is some netori and 1 netorare scene and sadly no netorase scenes yet, but netorase was hinted at so I'm hopeful it'll be added too). Overall, a very good start to the game with alot of girls, women and fetishes to choose from and everything is up to the player. Much love!

Edit: Forgot to mention that the game has some pretty good humor which I didn't expect. I won't spoil anything but the dev has a good sense of humor which fits well with the characters personalities.

I LOVE the netori focus! Great looking girls too. I enjoy the variety in age and body shape. Also it's a big plus that you can decide on them having pubic hair.
Unfortunatly so far it ist a very short game while taking a long time between (rather short) updates.
Also pretty much all the girls are into the MC from the get go. I think it would be fun to add some girls that are reluctant or even hostile when you first meet them, making getting them in the end even more sweet.
It would be great if the game kept the netori focus, ideally even make the other men watch etc.
Five stars for the foundation and promise. I really hope the development will pick up pace.

Superb. Love the model of the mom. One of the better games around now. Hope it reaches a proper conclusion and not get abandoned and put on hold like most other games on this website. Amount of content is good for now. Dev can also try and explore further in the netorare, could be suitable for the game.

Lot of spelling mistakes and generally poor english (but you can easily tell what the dev is trying to convey). Not a super serious AVN, yet somehow it works. Characters are pretty well done, and there is a somewhat of a story (but not centered around it, at least so far)

1. Models look fine, not bad looking and proportions are decent. Characters look their ages also, in as much that you can tell the older, mature and young apart.
2. Writing is structured and reads well enough.
3. Animations are good, AI CG from the looks, not that its an issue, though they often short.
4. World interaction is not bad, the icons are easy to see and self explanatory which is good.
5. Some audio which is good, but very limited.
6. Nice kinks, many from the tags and fine during the gameplay.

CONS: - See my opinions section for details.

1. Visuals are not really good, renders are grainy and low quality in many scenes.
2. Short H-scenes in that they have no angles, no different options or choices.
3. Per choices point, the choices in the game don't really amount to much, often just locking you out of lewd content.
4. Audio is very much lacking and make little sense, a sex scene would start with some audio for 2 slides then nothing for the entire of rest scene.
5. Plot has been done countless times before, but here it feels like zero attempt was made to keep it interesting or even put a slightly different spin on it.
6. Dialogue is often silly and nonsensical, almost like watching and reading a dialogue of impulsive children, in this case just mostly impulsive perverts.
7. Scenes and situations make little sense, and often are just made to fuel the perversions see comments below.
8. Not really much content, especially for an AVN that came out a year and a half ago.

OPINIONS, SUGGESTIONS & FINAL REMARKS:

NOTE: The following remarks are my personal opinions and thoughts, which may provide more context and could be useful to the developer. (Read them or don't)

• The developer focuses or drives the lewd and perverted scenes in very direct and tactless ways that make no sense logically thus you end up with porn logical scenes, like the little sister running around showing her vag off or the MCs mother sitting naked in the cart with him yet his shirt is too small for her? Rubbish, its too blatant/deliberate in its perversion making it stupid. Another scene is the brothers girlfriend, she easily without reservation pulls the MC in to screw her to teach his brother her boyfriend a lesson then also wants the MC to knock her up...no big deal.
• Regarding the above point, I love the perverted stuff also, but sometimes a bit more finesse and effort to put together the scenes makes for much better result, this sadly cannot be said about this AVN.
• Regarding kinks, while there are many tags, I hope the dev makes them worthwhile like pregnancy shouldnt just be a scene followed by "knocked up" or something simple, the knocked up character should start showing and actually look pregnant also. Same with other kinks, they should be plenty in various situations, one event/scene of a kink is not good enough.

TLDR:

Porn logic fantasy setting AVN that has little logical flow and events, but makes up for some of that with kinky situations. Visually its not bad looking but really not good either. This is mediocre at best and really nowhere near 4 and definetly not 5 stars.

Ahvila is an excellent +18 game with polished visuals and engaging gameplay. The experience feels confident and fun, and I hope the developer keeps expanding content, especially with the blonde girl

The only good thing about this game is the CG renders/characters.

Writing is shallow on about every scene, dialogues are short and uninteresting, does it go for full NTR? Harem? who knows, choices doesn't matter much.

I thought my headphones broke but there were just no sounds up until the very last part (as of 0.4). The silence is deafening.

I don't know where all the glazing is coming from but this is bad even by the new releases/Early Access standards. You're better off to sit on the game for a few months (maybe a year, based on last updated) and not get baited by the preview images like me.

There is a missing image error every few minutes playing this game. I'd probably give it 4 stars without this as it's a good game overall. Good story, characters, scenes. The errors are just so annoying though as I keep missing out on content.

Good medieval setting, pretty common of a setting but the characters are attractive in their own ways and diverse in the niche they provide, milf, the gilf, brother's girlfriend, slutty blonde, etc, I didn't go for the little sister because I'm not into loli characters and I am thrilled the author didn't force a romantic relationship.

The problems with this game are the grammar, the overall English, and the absolute rush of a plot that lowered a star. You go from meeting all these characters in the village, culminating in a festival. The game moves well, and then raiders attack. You turn out to be the bastard son of the king, and you suddenly are in a castle. There definitely needed to be more between the points of the story; it's like we went from Point A to Point D, missing points B and C on the way. I also didn't appreciate that we couldn't save more people from the village, they might still be alive and in the village still, I don't know, we got rushed to a castle with no payoff there.

It's an alright game, but it is VERY obvious that English is not the author's first language, and the plot is very very very rushed. Slow down, you can advance the main plot slowly and focus more on character moments to make a better story, I was enjoying the village part until the story got rushed.

Worth a try, especially the medival age setting and the characters are arousing so is the story devlopment. Experience the taboo and thrill of being the prince or king.
You can be the alpha or the beta in the game depends on your own choices, still not much to offer. Its at development stage hope gets updated soon

Aihvala is RIGHT on my interests but it's very early in dev.
The renders are good, The writingh especially repeated use of ZFroiend is a bit weird and coinfusing hope the dev Proof read their script.
The great thing about this AVN is the situations it create for the interaction.

There is much left to be done, But the game excels at focusing on its competency, but keeping enough variety in settings and girls so that it doesn't become stale.
The future stuff that neded improvemnets require BGM, more clean Female Models , that are not of older generationa dn agian wonky writing that need proof read.

Overall I enjoyed my time
Will recommend for all who come here to it as a sandbox game.

Overall comments:

Decent potential so far. Good character models, a promising plot (albeit there is not much to the plot in the current version), and I love the whole premise of the medieval setting in which the game takes place in.

The overall harem vibes I'm getting from the game are quite nice, to say the least. I just wish there was more content to advance the plot further as not much of the overarching story has been revealed just yet. Hence, content wise there is not a whole lot in the game for the current version (i.e., v0.4).

Regardless, the plot, character development, and setting of the game is quite good. I'm interested in seeing future updates and where the story will progress from here on out, and how the MC will grow his harem as well.

This game has tremendous potential!
Not much content atm but if some serious work is put into it, I can see this becoming one of the greater games on here.
It cateres to many fetishes that can be avoided if you don't want to engage in that and I am really exited to see where the story goes from here. A game where you want to read the story is kinda rare so please keep this gem going.

The world needs more game like this, the graphics are not good as the top 5 games, but they are good enough to be one of the top games in the future. About the story... well is captivating. The characters and how they were made(the models) are good, the decitions you could make, have an impact in the outcome. It's a good game, not the best but with the potential to be one of them.

Early version is fairly short but has a lot of potential

• Good natural models
  • Big, small and medium curves
  • Old, young and in between
    • Might not be for everyone but scenes are optional
  • Hairy and non-hairy versions, but hairy seems the way to go
  • Nice expressions
• Pretty decent animations
  • Most sexual content has some animation
  • However, almost half of pure sexual content is extra and non-story relevant, kept in a Patreon exclusive version(but this isn't mentioned at the beginning of the game(and probably should be) so most players think the game is broken or missing content)
    • But there is still plenty of sexual content in the regular version(so far)
• Writing is fine
  • But there are frequent errors where the wrong character name is displayed over the text box
• UI and interactivity
  • Neither bad nor good, but the UI is simple and effective, there are occasional clicking quick time event minigames that work fine
    • There are 'travel' sections where one has a background and must find the appropriate characters or doorways to progress, but can not necessarily intuitively tell which are optional and which will progress the story. Though this can be easily solved on the player's end by reloads.

Overall I think its pretty good for what it is, story moves at a fast pace and regularly provides sexual content without completely ignoring narrative. Fairly short for now but has lots of potential and dev promises comparatively frequent updates, just hope they don't overextend with all the planned tags and setting, where too many characters, diverging storylines, or catering to too many genres will detract from the central content.

A lot of promise here. I'm a sucker for a good upskirt. The writing is reasonably good, and I like the character designs for the ladies. The only quibble I have at the moment is that there are some capitalization errors in the text, which isn't really that bothersome. I'm looking forward to seeing how things develop.

(Review of v0.4)

This could be the beginning of a nice story but it requires some polishing, starting with the writing as it is too rough to be called just decent. The models are OK but look weird from certain angles, for instance that first time the woman at your house bends over.

The story is also a bit sketchy at this early stage, it feels like everything happens too fast. Some music would also help making the game more enjoyable.
