RPGM - Ren'Py - Completed - Alansya Chronicles: Fleeting Iris [Final] [Heaven Studios]

I played the Renpy version. I played the first 4-5 hours before I had to ragequit this awful mess after the game decided to take away the MCs virginity without my choice.

Positives:

• As a first impression, Ayame's personality is attractive.
• The first corruption story with Melvin the bartender seems hot (but not sure how it ends because the game interrupted that story by forcing another story instead).
• The bartender teaching her to swallow.

Negatives:

• The sex scenes have low quality art. Like, very cheaply produced hentai with little detail, or almost something a teenage hobbyist would draw.
• Essentially no animations. Just once in a while there's two slides that rotate back and forth. Even that almost never happens.
• During sex scenes the text isn't reflected by the art. A girl is supposedly getting fucked in her ass and then DPed but the art is just a static image of her getting her pussy fucked.
• Overly complex, convoluted game design. How to open and proceed on routes, how to follow multiple routes (which are exclusive, how do we know?!) and many such confusing things. It's not explained in game and there's no walkthrough.
• I have zero clue why some routes are closed for me. Extremely frustrating.
• Sometimes Ayame's face and facial expressions looks strange and unattractive.
• 4:3 aspect ratio. Well, actually even worse because there are large black bars on three sides of the image.
• The quest journal is unhelpful most of the time. You sometimes find quests by clicking things randomly but much of the time (at least in the beginning) it's not clear what to do. Most of the time there are no active relevant quests. So you're just expected to figure out for yourself where to go, what to do but the game gives no info, feedback or hints.
• Often the game disables saving. That's stupid, totally annoying in any case. It's even worse though when the game disables saving and then presents choices (with unknown consequences). Awful game design!
• The different locations on the map look like they've been generated by some terrible AI. It looks like a weird abstract painting, with buildings melting into the asphalt, etc.
• I'm getting a system message saying "Ayame can't be a virgin to proceed in this route." But the game doesn't suggest any alternative actions, there's no information.
• By far the worst "minigame" sequence I've seen in any game. The game disables save, load, and rollback and then presents you with a long series of quick-time with very short response time. Failing even one of these is gameover. This is not good for porn. This is not good for any game. It's hilariously bad.
• At certain points the game just takes over control and puts you in a long sequence of events that automatically follow each other. E.g. I was trying to not have any sex activities with Robert (the bf) and doing Melvin's route instead. But one evening the game just starts a long event which, despite me again declining sex with Robert, forces at minimum a handjob.
• The game suddenly and without your decision takes the MCs virginity. It's presented as a flashback and as revenge for the fiancé cheating. This is totally not what I wanted. Even if I wanted that, the game doesn't actually show the moment of penetration, just after they started fucking.

A nice game with nice graphics.
The problem is that what is its strong point is also its weak point. Let me explain: there are many types of plots (really many!) and this makes it very interesting because everyone can find the path they like the most, but honestly there are too many and above all I haven't even understood how to unlock them all. A very clear walkthrough would be needed that explains how to follow the various paths. I wasn't able to find many plots or even unlock all the locations (they unlock as you progress through the game). There is also a morality level of the girl that obviously should be lowered in order to proceed on the harder paths, but I wasn't able to understand how to do that either. I also noticed that the various paths I managed to do are very short. As someone wrote, it would have been better to make fewer paths, clearer and more developed in the plot. I abandoned the game having discovered few plots (because I was tired of continuing and going around in circles).

It actually good game, even though it is quite old, it is still relevant . This game really appeal to me. With multiple routes, options, characters and variety. So cute heroine and embarrassing situations. We need more games like this.

A lot of routes and a lot of effort put into this game. But as others have said, it feels a bit disjointed. Also, one thing that really annoyed me is once you progress far enough down a particular route, you basically get locked into it and have to watch a bunch of scenes and dialogue with no freedom - can't even save. It gets very linear and quite boring.

There are a lot of things to do that are hard to discover without a guide. For example, I didn't even know there was a 'free roam' type mode available until I read the walkthrough. You need to progress two seemingly separate quest lines far enough to unlock free roam, which takes hours of playing and isn't obvious at all.

I wanted to like this more, but this isn't for me.

I think this game would have greatly benefited from having a smaller number of routes with more progression (and more renders per scene), instead of a large number that conclude all too quickly and have 1-3 renders per scene. We end up with various ways to speed run the MC from innocent maiden to vulgar and thirsty cock magnet. It might be entertaining once or twice, but I feel like we're missing the gradual stages of corruption that make a corruption narrative convincing and therefore satisfying.

I give this one four stars because a lot of time and effort clearly went into this. Definitely not higher than four, though, due to the disappointingly ambitious number of routes.

best 'manga/anime' art I've seen so far, protagonist is hot, good NTR/corruption story, just wish there were more detailed endings and more things to do in between the events. If only there were more stories as complete as these and not just slop and baiting people to pay for remakes/version that take years without any real progress. This one may be old but it is still one of the best ones out there. Figures.

This is an incredibly ambitious and highly addictive game, with ridiculous amounts of sexual content and H-scenes, multiple corruption paths, and truly fantastic drawings - none of that cheap, inconsistent AI render slop.
The story is quite fascinating, and the game gives you a fantastic level of freedom to shape the story as you see fit. This is one of the few completed games that I usually go back to every so often - it's just that good.
Although the main character starts out ditzy and naïve (as many other games in the genre), once the corruption kicks into high gear, she takes charge of her own desire and exercises plenty of agency throughout.
If you're bored of seeing stupid, socially-unaware female protagonists, this is the game for you. Just make sure to play the RenPy version instead of the RPGM one - it's a much better way to access all the content.
If I had one small gripe, it would be the lack of a lesbian-only path, but the game has a fair selection of FFM threesome scenes in other routes. I just hope that the DLC/expansion brings more kinks to enjoy.
Do yourself a favor, and check it out ASAP.

The way they handled the corruption system is pretty lame. If you don't choose one lewd thing, you will basically miss tons of content. For the self proclaimed biggest game of it's type, you can't even make the protagonist little smarter. You must make her act stupid or else the game will end in 30 min(this was very disappointing, specially after playing star Knightess aura a while ago.)
But if you are fine with the protagonist acting super stupid, then you will get lots of contents and may even get a few faps.
But I'm definitely disappointed.

Absolutely not for me.

I hate visual novels as they are just glorified enter button clickers, and this one is honestly no exception except for the fact that you also have to use your mouse to click on the map. Which wouldn't really be THAT bad if the map backgrounds weren't AI GENERATED. The use of AI generated "artwork" should NOT exist in a 7 GB game even if it's something small like a map background, or a button. Shit, when was this posted, 2016? And in this EIGHT years, NOBODY bothered to draw up some quick map backgrounds? You can use the "indie studio with low staff count" excuse all you want... until you see every indie game that made it without using AI generated trash.

The artist has absolutely no idea how to draw skinny men, or well, just non muscular men in general. The faces are all completely fine, but the arms are just... not working out. Of course nobody comes here to look at men, but I have to look at them when I spend 20 minutes reading dialogue. I haven't gotten too far into the story before uninstalling, but so far only the women looked good in terms of art. I mean, shit, look at fucking Melvin. The guy's eyes look absolutely fucking soulless, it's not even like an "evil vibe", it's just like they ripped out the eyeballs from Rick and Morty. And did he seriously have to have such a massive beer belly? I mean I have nothing against old, balding fat guys, but Melvin's design completely misses the mark. It's like they wanted to make him grotesque, but decided not to halfway. It doesn't work. And then there's Robert. CIA agent? He looks like a pansy. I mean, you could've added like a scar on his face or something, and that would have fixed his design, but nope, he looks like a pussy.

The story feels restrictive. I can't go to the west side because Ayame will get lost? She's 23 and has a phone. Just fucking use google maps or some shit. The writing in the story is not that great. A lot of lines feel forced and slightly unnatural. And some situations are just completely wank. Like that celeb couple revealing their swinging tendencies, on the second time we meet. It was... a moment that I had to spend a bit processing, because it was cringe. The characters are all detestable as well. Robert's son is a fucking weirdo, Sato is a fucking weirdo, and Marvin is a fucking weirdo. That bartendender guy is a fucking shill as well. So yeah, GG, 30 minutes into the game and I do not like any of the characters. Oh and for the record, Ayame is like, 5/10 MAX.

i don't understand how could anyone give this game rating below a 5 star, the art is pretty hot and female MC is sexy Asf and there are so many routes to play with, although one can play a route at the time, well this seems like a cons to me but meanwhile it also offer the story to be focused on only one direction at a time, so it's not a big deal, and those route have been developed very well, even though this is a hentai game but i love the scenario and the emotions of character develop while we play through.they somehow feel real and logical, i still haven't finished the full game but i played like 4 routes and they all were superb.

Very hot characters lured me in, but in the end, you're playing as a female MC so it gets boring very fast. Most scenes are of the same girl with no animation either (no, two stagnant scenes alternating back & forth is not animation).
The "choices" are really not choices - if you don't want to be a ho, the game dies a few hours in when you can progress to another event due to lack of corruption points. Might as well be a linear novel at this point.
The organization of the quests is also bizarre and requires a lot of saving. In the end, I couldn't even endure finishing it.

. Back then, I found myself slogging through long stretches of monotonous gameplay, hoping the payoff would justify the effort. Unfortunately, it never did. Fast forward to 2023, and despite its longevity and the developers’ pride in its scale, the game remains as tedious and uninspired as it felt back then.

What’s more, the sheer amount of busywork required to unlock specific scenes—navigating back and forth across the map, meeting arbitrary stat thresholds at precise moments—renders the entire experience unnecessarily cumbersome.
The game’s self-proclaimed status as "the largest hentai game ever" might hold water in terms of raw content, but its substance doesn’t live up to its scope. The phrase “as wide as an ocean, as deep as a puddle” fits perfectly here. While there are plenty of routes to explore, only a handful feel remotely fleshed out, with satisfying conclusions being the exception rather than the rule. The rest feel like underdeveloped tangents that fail to reward the time invested in them.
Comparing Fleeting Iris to newer games within the genre highlights its shortcomings even further. Take, for example, the upcoming game MY, which embraces similar themes and tropes while utilizing the same RPG Maker framework. Even in its demo stage, MY offers a far more dynamic and engaging experience. Features like multiple outfit choices, diverse seduction paths, easily accessible H-scenes that enrich the world, and thoughtfully designed systems such as mental health and meaningful corruption mechanics demonstrate how much the genre has evolved. It’s a stark contrast to Fleeting Iris, which feels stagnant and out of touch with modern expectations.
Perhaps the most glaring issue with Fleeting Iris is how little it respects the player's time. If this game had been released a decade ago, its flaws might have been easier to overlook. But as the hentai gaming scene has matured and raised its standards, the lack of innovation in Fleeting Iris becomes increasingly evident. The game’s long development cycle seems to have resulted in more content without addressing its core issues, leaving players to wonder if the payoff is truly worth the effort.
In the end, Fleeting Iris is a relic of a bygone era—functional but uninspired, bloated with content yet shallow in execution. While it might still appeal to some for its art and sheer size, it fails to stand out in a market that continues to push boundaries. I sincerely hope Heaven Studios takes these lessons to heart in their future projects and delivers a game that not only captures players’ attention but also respects their time and investment.

I am writing this review after playing the version of 1.0.5 renpy.

Surely, there are lots of contents where a girl going to marry a man is having sex with the other men in various events of the city. If you like a series of quick sex actions, this game may satisfy you with modest grinding although many CGs are reused, and dialogues and animations are not that great.

But the weakest aspect of the game is that its stories rarely use anticipation. And those sex actions felt like a cheap and shallow quickie without satisfaction. Accordingly, this game is not a real corruption game but a series of quick NTR events unlike the dev's claim.

The fact that the main routes were consecutive (close/ignore one to open up the next) instead of parallel was very jarring for me.

Otherwise, art and narration during sex scenes are good, at least good enough to keep the suspension of disbelief going for a... quite weird plot, to be honest.

Overall, you can spend an afternoon without guilt on this one.

Hard to say that this game is corruption. It's more like the mc is a hidden/repressed nympho and then awaken with the story.

The game has this useless "Fallen" popup and said basically that your mc now a total nympho when in actuality she already been for dozen of scene. The difference is after tihs threshold onward the mc just skip the reluctant partof getting molested. Her enthusiatic nympho-like attitude still remain the same.
The art is good , I wound't call it outsantading. but scenes are few and quite vanilla.
Still worth the play if you're not expect the corruption.

I specially waited until the Renpi version to play the game. And unfortunately I was very disappointed.

There may be a lot of content, but as everyone knows, quantity does not equal quality. So yes, there are hundreds of CG in the game, but they are all very vanilla (even rapes). Almost all forced scenes work according to the classic scenario - I don't want to, but I'm wet anyway. Corruption is poorly done, the transition from a blushing virgin to a whore has no middle ground. I also don't like art - mostly because I'm not a fan of watermelon-sized assets, but I guess I'm in the minority here.

If you still want to give it a try, I want to note that the renpi port is good. Even some mini-games have been adapted for new engine. Be sure to play it, as the game requires a lot of playthroughs and you need skip button.

P.S. And yes, for the "biggest h game", they don't even have a dedicated lesbian route (only some scenes here and there).

Good but definitely drowning in excessive routes and roleplay-esque mechanics.
As such, it works, but to jerk off, you probably just play one route through and you're done with the game, thinking about the time invested in that alone.
Should've been less branched, more defined and voiced sounds on top, it would've been perfect.

Well here we are, one of the games that has been an icon in the world of esoteric niche hentai games, Fleeting Iris. And boy it sure is... underwhelming!

I played this game through years ago sometime around 2016/2017, and I remember thinking at the time what a boring slog the game was for a large portion of it's run time. They pride themselves on being one of the largest hentai games ever! And having so much content to play through! And with all the hype surrounding this game you'd think it was the next Violated Heroine. But it's not, and today in 2024 it's still a boring slog.

Don't get me wrong. The art is good. Not amazing but it is genuinely good. The sex scenes are vanilla at times, but still good. The corruption system in my opinion is severely lacking, but it's there. But the amount of effort you'll have to put in, walking back and forth, doing this then that, making sure your stats are at this number at this time before you can view this scene... it's just not up to snuff with the modern Hentai game scene.

And their claim of being the largest hentai game ever, may be true, (Tho by what metric and by who's judgement idk)the phrase "As wide as an ocean as deep as a puddle" comes to mind. The routes in this game are plentiful, but none of them besides maybe 2 are really fully realized or with any real satisfying conclusions.

I think a modern game in 2024 to compare this to would be something like the upcoming game MY... A game that fundamentally follows a lot of the same themes/tropes, and utilizes the RPG maker medium as well, but to much greater effect. The game is currently only in demo form, but even there you can see a plethora of options you have to do things in the game besides just walking back and forth. Multiple clothing options, multiple characters to seduce or not, and easily accessible random H scenes that fill out the world by your own choice, and a corruption system with actual substance as well as an mental health system. Oh and stellar art direction as well!

Fleeting Iris comes off as dated, and not respecting of the players time. It would be understandable if this game came out 5-10 years ago, but the genre has continued to improve while this game never seemed to get the memo throughout it's very long dev time. You can and will cum while playing this game, but you'll probably find yourself asking "was that really worth the time?" afterwards. A shame, but I'm hoping Heaven Studios can show us they are capable of making a modern experience with their next effort.
