It'd look pretty bad if they couldn't stick to the time table they announced... Besides, this is supposedly the 1st game out of... 5 I think? I wonder how long THOSE will take XD

I've never really liked them, but can't deny they are one of the few dev teams that seem to have a lot of respect and commitment to their playerbase.

Nah, there´s really nothing to be mad about. They´re doing a great job imo. We´re getting a patch every 2 months. People playing other games *cough* summertime saga *cough* can only dream of that frequency.
I love Summertime Saga but not only they don't release patches as fast, the amount of content is nowhere near what these guys put out. In fact, I follow a dozen Patreon games and the only one that comes even remotely close is NLT. In my opinion these guys are on their own level right now. Mind you, I think SS released content is still very acceptable, but these guys are just a beast of its own.

They haven't failed in the last 2 years, even with small delays. I think it's safe to assume it won't start now. Also Starke has stated many times that this game is considerably bigger than the 3rd, 4th and 5th game will be. The following games should have a average of 60 scenes total which they can complete in 5 patches if they just keep their current work flow. Faster if they hire more CG artists as they have been planning to do for a while. Understandable since this one is more focused on story and mechanics as a typical visual novel and the others will be more focused on the gameplay.

The main developer created a community like way way back, even before I started following the scene so it should be close to 10 years now. The community was dedicated to rpg maker games and they closed it behind a paywall. The only way to get in the site was paying 50$ one time or to get someone already inside to vouch for you. That obviously made a lot of people mad.

So they expected him to roll over and take the insults and he didn't. He got into a lot or arguments in a forum called ULMF, and most of the times for what I saw in the back and forths he was right, but obviously you're going to create enemies like that so a lot of people tried to sabotage the development of this game.

At the time I didn't give a crap because I was just there to get my hands on some translations, most of which were created by people in his community to be fair, but I wasn't much into the Patreon thing. Eventually I played his game around 0.50 and I was instantly in love so I don't care if he was right or not, all I want is hentai goodies.

Not really though. These were the early days of his game. There were a lot more delays between releases and everyone often felt like they were wasting their time on making a huge map for their porn universe when the amount of successful games on their own are already rare.

You could say in hindsight that he was right, but at the time, Starke was just an annoying prick with nothing but his ego to back him up.

So sadly a little longer delay.
The art team is a little stressed out since this patch is bigger then expected, and to make sure quality don't go down, the final release date is Friday the 10th.(Hence the news on patreon)

I don't understand...why fleeting Iris team give us a fake promisses?...if you guys need time ok for it...but tell the truth..!...
One could easily remove the definition of entitled in the dictionary and swap it out for this very sentence.

They didn't promise anyone anything, particularly not people who pirate their game for free. They gave us (read: patrons) an estimate according to how they were progressing, progress slowed down because their cg team got burned down from overworking so they released an official release date that didn't meet the earlier estimate.

I don't see how anyone stole candy from you Tommy.

Truth be told, we're not paying or supporting them, so we can't blame them. As a fan, i'm sad for the delay, but it could happen. It's better play it with 10 days delay than waiting for the full release in a year ;)

There's a very logical explanation. Become a patron and find out instead of whining about stuff that you don't contribute for talking about stuff you have no clue about like people owe you something. :cautious:

One would think that isnt too hard to understand.

So as a patreon my biggest issue is when a statement is premature from the developers, like the team here is sometimes doing. This creates some kind of hope / illusion that this patch will hit mid of April. So people are expecting an early release now.
But then the delays start, and it ends with +10 days overdue instead of an early release.
Example is below for this patch... and this is not the first time this has happened. Its more like the 3rd to my count.
I would rather know in advance that they need more time, instead of delaying on the last day.

Taken from their patreon updates:

Mar 27 at 6:08am

Two new spoilers are already available on Discord. Hope you guys enjoy ;)
0.92 will come out mid~late April, we'll see!

Still love the team and their work. <3

Yeah, that was a poor prediction from starke but they already admitted to it a bunch of times this patch. First they made an optimistic preview and when they realized they wouldn't be able to hit that deadline, they released an official estimate which seemed more reasonable but I think the CG team started slowing down or drawing bad scenes and they realized they needed one more week.

I'd rather be given an expectancy of when it will come out and how close they are instead of what most patreons and mangakas I follow do when they leave you absolutely in the dark for 3, 4, 5 months until people start complaining and they finally put out something lackluster just to silence people.

If you think their average 1 or 2 days delay is bad, try following yummytiger, dvoika or LOK team. Your opinion will change right quick

TL;DR rough estimates > no estimates
