My one complaint would be that besides the character creation, there are zero choices to be made. That said, I don't think I would've made any different choices than the path played out here. I enjoyed the story and found it well written.
If you think a fantasy realm full of magic and an alternate world & history would have to follow the same patriarchal paths laid out in our world due to institutional religion, maybe you're just not capable of imagining another world and fantasy is just not for you, but that shouldn't be a factor in appreciating such works.
In my view however, I appreciate the mostly casual acceptance of queer and non-monogamous life, as well as the diversity of the characters in this game. The art is handcrafted which gives a completely different feel to it than all the softbrushed AI slop that's now out there, so I don't even mind that there aren't that many different pictures in there, the writing and your fantasy can do the rest.
