Kinda reminds me of the first Alien Mission in "Alien Versus Predator" game series.
You start as a face hugger and have to escape a transport ship and infiltrate a base to find a host and evolve.
You had to repeat the procedure a few times to evolve into your adult form, dealing with stronger patrolls and less hiding chances and so on.
