what's the most likely outcome of this clusterfuck?

In the worst case scenario where CS wins and a tons of gamesa are kicked out of itch, what their alternatives could be
similar to rom or torrent or piracy sites, like a hydra if you kill one or 2, more will show up to take its place.
porn and porn games are much more popular then most niche things on the internet.

it usually correct itself in a different yet somehow the exact same shape and form. you just have to wait or do something else wail you wait.

Kinda like the Nexus clusterfuck. Nexus banned some mods, and 4 mod sites, including one using the Nostr protocol came up with the banned mods.

another example to banned mods,
the banned shota/loli stuff here has a similar site dedicated to post the banned/rejected/also accepted rule 7 shota/loli games as another form of archive.

can't name the site for obvious reasons.

This is a reason why I plan to go Geyserfund, even though it's bitcoin only. At least, I'll have a crypto reserve if I need one.

Not really a free market when there are 2-3 that do nearly all payments and are in lockstep with each other....

In theory host sfw version on Itch.io and 18+ patches elsewhere. Not sure if this would be enough though.
Itch already said they're looking into alternative payment processors which is good. In a perfect world Steam would follow suit, which would make Visa/Mastercard shit their pants.

Please recommend platforms where, like it used to be on itch, you can publish your projects and get traffic from the 'new releases' section. Thank you to everyone who decides to share information — I'm sure it will be useful to many. I hope itch will be able to find a new payment provider.

Announcement to Adult Game Developers: A New Dedicated Platform – 34-bits

In response to the increasing limitations faced by adult game developers, including censorship, scattered exposure, and the lack of long-term visibility, we are creating 34-bits, a new platform entirely dedicated to adult games.

Our Mission

The core objective of 34-bits is to offer a stable, independent space where adult game developers can showcase and publish their work, regardless of their commercial intent. Whether you are offering a free demo, a fully monetized product, or simply wish to create visibility for your game, this platform is designed to support your needs. (Especially one who are legal but refused on other platforms)

What We Will Support

  • Showcase-Only Games: Developers looking to present their game publicly without offering downloads or sales are fully welcome.
  • Demo Projects: Games that are in development or offer only demo access will also be supported.
  • Commercial Games: Titles aiming to monetize will be included, with monetization features planned shortly after launch.

Our Vision

34-bits aims to become the central hub for adult games by enhancing visibility, simplifying discovery, and eliminating reliance on platforms that impose restrictive or unclear content policies. It is built to serve both developers and players, offering a curated and open environment for adult games.

Development Roadmap

The platform will be launched in several phases.

  • First deployement : Focuses on visibility. Developers will be able to create game pages, publish details, link demos or external pages, and start building their audience.
  • Payement and Data hosting : will introduce secure payment systems and monetization options once the technical and legal requirements are complete. Also direct hosting of data will be available for creator. Download will be hosted by the website.

Join Our Community

A dedicated Discord server is now open to:

  • Bring together developers preparing to publish on 34-bits
  • Gather feedback and suggestions
  • Share updates on development progress
  • Notify you as soon as the platform goes live

Join here:

Platform Details

Revenue Share

  • The current target is a 15% platform fee for paid games with hosting provided for all downloads.
  • No fees will be applied to free games or showcase-only titles. If your revenue comes from Patreon or similar platforms, you may still publish without restriction or cost.

Content Policy

  • The company and infrastructure are based in a jurisdiction that is tolerant toward adult content, providing a safer and more permissive space than most platforms.
  • We will remain attentive to legal compliance while prioritizing broad creative freedom.

Why 34-bits
We are a team of experienced developers who have worked on scalable systems and game-related infrastructure. This is not a hobbyist project, but a structured and long-term initiative. Our goal is to create a technically robust, community-driven platform tailored to the unique needs of adult game development.

Current Development Status

  • Functional homepage with game cards and carousel
  • User registration and login system
  • Game page creation for free or showcase titles (featuring tags, platform selection, languages, multi-version support, technical features, descriptions, thumbnails, banners, icons, etc.)
  • Individual game pages for detailed exploration
  • In development: Game browsing interface

Performance (Preliminary Stress Test)
Initial load tests indicate the infrastructure could support between 800 to 2,000 concurrent users, depending on the actions performed (note: these are internal test figures based on simulation, not real user data).

Final Word

We invite all developers, whether you are preparing for a full release or simply seeking visibility, to join us. Let us build a long-term, transparent, and professional home for adult games, one that values creative freedom and technical excellence.

Edit: Add more detail and anwser

One of the few good things from this whole ordeal is that more people are now starting to let it be known to the payment processors that they think this sucks. I would like to think that pressure from a group of people much larger than Collective Shout could actually do something, but I'll remain skeptical.

I have seen so much "New adult friendly platform in the making! Join us!" - lately, that it kind of makes me wonder if some are just trying to catch the hypetrain.

Because none of them have a proper solution on how to deal with the payment processor issue, right now they are just too small to care.

Phonebombing Visa/Mastercard seems to be the only solution...and even that is something I think only works if it is a MASSIVE number of calls of angry customers.

There problem is there are no other significant payment processors outside of Discover/Amex (primarily US only), JCB (Japan) and UnionPay (China). I think India and Russia might have one too? Other processors like Paypal and Stripe are beholden to Visa/MC.

Visa/Mastercard are just so ubiquitous and intertwined with the banking industry that you'd basically have to get a new payment processor from the ground up and that just isn't going to happen.

It has to do with an Australian feminist group called collective shout. After tourists reported no mercy to the group. They used their power and supporters to gather up and raise their voice. Eventually with all the complaining they did to steam via emails and other methods. Steam complied and removed the game and ever since its been getting worse. Here is the timeline of their actions.
