TLDR: Outstanding completed pure visual novel about a couple and about exploitation of women. Meaningful choices and real consequences make it a real game. Optionally serves a lot of the standard fetishes.
Consider this concept for a visual novel: Take an environment in which women are ruthlessly exhibited and prostituted. Throw a male main character into this environment. Give him a special interest in one or more of these women and in a criminal case related to this environment. Allow the main character to be played as a traditional hero or as an asshole, but sometimes force him to make difficult decisions. Allow the game to branch significantly in reaction to these decisions.
The present long game, started in mid 2022 and finished just over 2 years later, is based on this very effective concept. Unfortunately it stands in the shadow of another realization of the same concept which was started already in 2020 but which is nowhere near completion. Where that earlier/ongoing game is primarily about sounding out shades of gray, the present game really allows us to play in extremes (or anything in between). That should give it a wider appeal, but so far it has not found the attention it deserves.
Plot summary: In school, ample-breasted albino Emilie was systematically bullied by the other girls. The boys secretly fancied her, but only her classmate Chris (default name of the male main character) supported her occasionally. A few years after graduation, both independently run into the same problem: No job, no money, no support system. When the two meet accidentally, Emilie moves in with Chris, who at least still has an appartment even if he does not know how to pay the rent. This is the beginning of a relationship which we can shape as loving or dominant-submissive, and which we can steer into monogamy, a harem, or sharing. -- To make money, Emilie becomes anOnlyFans AlwaysFan girl and Chris her photographer. So far so cozy. The darkness begins when Emilie nearly becomes the next victim in a series of kidnappings. Maybe Chris achieves a miraculous happy end in which he is rich and has multiple happy, mostly pregnant girlfriends, while all the criminals are in prison. Or maybe he is an asshole who manages to get Emilie exposed to the darkness even before the kidnapping attempt, resulting in extreme wear and tear on the girl. Maybe the thriller plot even goes horribly wrong.
Whereas the structure of this game is outstanding and most developers of visual novels could and should learn from it, the renders are a bit of a weak point. What you see (in the example pictures) is what you get (in the game). It's perfectly adequate, but not more than that. The Honey Select graphics are plenty and perfectly serviceable, but they are clearly not the main draw here except perhaps for albino fans.
