VN - Ren'Py - Alyssa's Ascension [v0.1.2] [Gore Games]

Story is vague and makes no sense at all. You'll get introduced to Alyssa at 18y old. Then you get a flashback "6 years ago" so at this current time she's 12y old and you get a scene where she looks at her mom laying on a couch and u get a line: "Alyssa(thinking): 42 years old, careless, daydreamer and a drunk. What could be better than that? Someone who loves sleep-sex?"..... Like what the fuck? A 12y old girls thoughts?? Really?

Next, a choice where it says "You'll miss content if you pick this choice" meanwhile I did both options, no change in the story and the version just ends. Same way with the previous choices they are simply no choice at all. This amount of writing and images is x5 less than what u get from some devs that release every 2 weeks. For a first release why not get a couple months of work in and release big and then go over to small releases? Work out the silly writing and get some feasible start to the story and not make it weird.

Not to mention idk why you get to see the 12y old topless. It's against the rules:
"Content (a game, image, video, story, animation, etc.) depicting nudity, sexualization or sexual/erotic activity involving prepubescent character(s) is prohibited. A "prepubescent character" is one that visually shows no sign of puberty, or if non-visual is otherwise clearly intended to represent a prepubescent character. 2D and 'unrealistic' depictions are generally looked upon more favorably. Game impressions
Alyssa's Acension is a short and dark intro with allusions to sexual exploitation and abuse. There's no sex in it and the dark atmosphere atm isn't condusive to fapping. It seems to be extending content from other Gore games that I'm unfamiliar with? That's my conclusion from the dialogue's brief name dropping. There's a distinct lack of context which goes beyond "mystery", which leaves players struggling to create sense in a jumble of dark references. Maybe players who played the other games would get it. As a stand alone the dialogue leaves the player too much in the dark. More exposition for newcomers would be useful.

The visuals are good. High res though a bit noisy. Coding is very professional. The ambient music is monotonous. The musical tone is strangely cyberpunkesque and persistently dark despite some light and neutral dialogue elements which then get senselessly drowned in the dour soundscape. A better mix might bring the music and dialogue into closer harmony.

The protag is physically small, oddly cynical, and often mean faced even when the dialogue is neutral. Her model might benefit from a slight makeover. Smaller breasts(ok very subjective). And more eyebrow positional variance to lessen her continual angry girl demeanor a bit. As is, the character portayal is often dark for no reason. This is a visual corollary to the music where darkness is unrelenting for no obvious reason.

On the Dialogue side, the text tries to imbue a sense of personal tragedy and mystery. But is not quite up to the task of carrying the complexities of the interpersonal conflicts, the emotional turmoil and the brooding atmospherics. The vocabulary is very basic. Maybe if the author had a deeper empathy for the characters, the dialogue could be more impactful. As is, it's not as effective as it could be at conveying the emotions and giving the characters more substance.

Game rating
Three rounded up to a four. Plus one because of the presumptuous one star review preceding. This is only a "five minute" experience for players who don't read. Good luck to the dev.

I wonder why dev take the time to release something in this stage... There is barely like 5 min content. Yes the MC is cute. She seems however copied from another game I can't name here since it has been banned. There is no point downloading this for 5 min of dialogue and a couple pair of tits.
