Animated scenes are very nice, but it takes more effort to produce. I would rather have a game with 10 scenes, than only 2 animated scenes, if I had to choose.

I agree. Animated scenes are nice, but not every game needs them. Plus, most animations are 2-3 second loops that just increase development time significantly. Some games are better off with animations, but most games suffer as a result of them.

yeah can't agree more. Animated scenes are great, but only if you have the resources and time to do them justice. Still images can do alot espescially if they are well crafted. Plus it cuts down on production time and can allow a game to be further expanded. Can always go back once a game is completed and add animations for a deluxe version if it was successful.
